I took the tour of Independence Hall.. I loved it.. but was shocked of the size.. I think EVERY Politician needs to take these tours and reacquaint themselves with early history.

Oh that was worth the wait! Never been to Philadelphia proper so I really enjoyed seeing all the historical sights. That market was incredible and I look forward to Brian’s recreation of that energy soup! Loved the Rocky statue and those famous steps! I bet they were happy to see you leave at the arcade! Brian you rocked it my friend! And to top it all off with a concert! I think you spoil Peef a little too much! 😂

Could"t find a recipe, but did find an ingredient list for the soup: Water, Sweet Potato, Tomatoes, White Beans, Chick Peas, Quinoa, Carrots, Celery, Kale, Wakame, Lentils, Green Peppers, Onions, Vegetable Oil, Red Peppers, Sugar, Garlic, Spice, Nutritional Yeast, Sea Salt, Lemon Juice, Dulse. Looking forward to your recipe!

My husband and I love to visit Philadelphia. We live in Manassas VA which is the place for the Battle of Bull Rin, and West of DC but still in the metro area. Philadelphia is close to a 3 hour drive for us. A nice get away when my anxieties spike (like they did last week). We went to Philadelphia yesterday morning and returned back home around 1500 today. I love to drive, so that calms me and my husband and i love history. So Philadelphia is perfect for us. Been there four times now and still a lot to see. In addition, great vegan food is easy to find. We will allow ourselves one meal that is vegan but not WFPB, the rest of the time we eat really well and stick to the WFPB. We also love going to Gettysburg severals time too. It is a little over 2 hour drive for us. I highly reccomend both places to everyone especially those of us who are passionate about our history.

I’m new to the WFPB thing and I’m trying to learn where and what I can eat. I discovered the Whole Foods bar yesterday and I’m in heaven. I wonder what rent they’d charge for me just moving in and taking up residence? Their babaganouj was super. I love taking a piece of this and a piece of that. You get a ton of variety, but you don’t have to get a whole order of each thing. Do folks know Amazon Prime customers get a discount at WF?

Philly vegan here and love seeing your take on our amazing city (have lived here since 1986). I would have given you additional vegan restaurant recommendations and will post them here for others and if you return: Charlie Was a Sinner (on 13th St); V Street (on 19th St); Banh Mi & Bottles (South St, btwn 7th and 6th) - has an outrageous vegan Pho and vegan Bahn Mi; Dizengoff (on Sansom between 15th & 16th) - the very best hummus and it’s sister-restaurant, Goldie, (within a block) - for falafel and tehina shakes! Bar Bombon (18th St) - incredible vegan Latin American cuisine. And last: V Marks the Shop - a fully vegan market in South Philly. Hope you visit again!

This is so cool! Although I'm a Florida girl, I was born in New Jersey, not far from Philly. And my dad was born in Philadelphia. This is my neck of the woods, where my family is from (and most still live). Much of my dad's family has lived in Philadelphia for 7 generations!

That vegan Reuben looks amazing! Truth be told, I'd be more interested if you come up with a chana masala recipe, Brian. I make it a couple times a month and I've synthesized the recipe from a few that have been thrown around; I'd be curious to see how you'd improve on it and to see you put your spin on it. City Hall is where Market and Broad St intersect. I went to UPenn and when I lived there you were NOT ALLOWED to build taller than William Penn who sits atop City Hall. So that skyline was totally different. But Reading Terminal Market was there. That is always a fav. LUHV DELI gets a lot of their vegan meat and cheese from a local store here in Minneapolis called The Herbivorous Butcher. 😊

Ahh! I'm just over the bridge in south jersey! I love that you guys came to Philly! Next time you're here, you've got to try the BBQ wings at blackbird pizza, the tasty is a great little punk rock diner in south philly...if you want a fancy dinner, 100% recommend Vedge (they're a vegetable forward vegan restaurant though not oil free.) The seared maitaki mushroom tastes like steak, I kid you not! There are just so many great places to recommend! Definitely come back again! :)

Well thanks to your suggestion, guess where my sister and I went for lunch today? And guess what we ate? It took us a little while to find the Luhv deli due to crowds. We tried the soup and sandwich. Like you, Jessica - loved the energy soup. Not so much a fan of veggie cold cuts. Anyway, when the guy at the counter tried to tell us what was in the soup, we said "We already know!" and told them about your video. Also - Exton Mall was the mall of my teenage years. A lot smaller then. I think your arcade was a Penneys then.

The next time you come to Philly you should try the bus tour it tells you a lot about the city and you get to get off and on where you like. This why you don't have to do as much walking next time and get to see more things.

I enjoy your video's so much! What a chois to eat in de US, here in the EU (Hungary) there are NO vegan or rawfood restaurants, maybe in Boedapest, but that is a 2 hour drive unfortunately. So I make my own and order many ingredients online. Lately I'm graving hummus (no added oil) and can't get rid of the extra kilo's... do you guys have that problem as well?

Just a little tip on the dried cranberries, they are pretty much always sweetened. Even looking online I have only ever found one source of unsweetened dried organic cranberries and they were SPENDY. Since I need to lose weight and save money for the foreseeable future I will hold off on buying these. All that to say, be advised that any dried cranberries you find at a salad or oatmeal bar is likely to be sweetened. Yummy, for sure, and no shade...we all do the best we can on a trip. Wondering if anyone has found a source of organic unsweetened dried cranberries?

#question -- I noticed that when you splurge on your diet that you eat things that maybe have some oil, or sugar or salt, but never processed or meat/dairy. That is always a struggle for me. Like if I am at a restaurant and the options are french fries or salad with salmon and cheese on it which do I choose. Would love your insight on food choices in restaurants, especially restaurants chosen by non WFPB friends/relatives or in my case husbands/children. Love all your videos!
