@@BoshNRoll hey man, sorry I know this is an older video, but I love playing deaths shadow, and I wanted to know your opinion on whether or not street wraith would make the cut at the end of the video. Would you cut bolts? Is Bauble a good enough addition to achieve delirium? Thanks.
1:01:14 as soon as you were talking Death's Shadow in blue I wondered if there was a shell where it was a Dress Down combo potential. Since it's far from lethal, I can see why those two aren't used as a main plan, but good to see my instincts at least exist in the sideboard. Another excellent round 4 showcase.
I play 1 Dress Down in my Legacy UB Shadow and I'm not taking it out for anything! I'm also not sold on GDS in Legacy, UB is just smoother and can play more shock and 2 basic lands. The main deal for playing Red is EI and with Brainstorm and Ponder legal it's just not as needed here as in Modern. UB also allows for a couple of Drown in the Loch main, expensive but the versatility is just pure value.
I think it's pretty clear that DRC is the better card, but Murktide and swamps are pretty important cards in the deck, so I think DRC would put too much stress on the mana.
11:07 Modern shadow runs always 1 swamp, some times 1 mountain. Never plays an island because the spells in the modern list are way more black and red heavy. Thus said, I am 100% certain sure, that basic island is supposed to be either a Swamp or dual land of some sort. (edit: I also noticed this deck is on 3 wasteland. for a 3 color deck it sounds super greedy, you are technically on 15 lands)
1:01:00 Was a how many links does it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop reference. The only appropriate answer is "The world may never know." What's really interesting is that it's a Midwest 90's thing. How many of you in chat knew this?
@@BoshNRoll I'm not sure it was a major run but only those that grew up during that 5 year window would ever get that reference. We are moving thru time together buddy
I like playing Shadow of Doubt over Stifle/Trickbind in the decks that want that sort of effect in Modern/Legacy. It deals with a lot of the same abilities that you want it to, while also cantripping. And it's a blue card for Force and a black card for Grief.
i know you were trying to give an example of redirect but isnt misdirection already a legal target for REB meaning it can still redirect reb to itself? cause if so i cant think of a key word "legacy staple" card that makes reb better than pblast.
@@BoshNRoll oh wow i play misdirection in doomsday and that certainaly could come up i didnt know about that interaction thanks for the tip and keep cranking those sick vids
Thoughtseize their card but they play it anyways. Similar to the other famous modo bug of shuffling a card off the top of your deck but drawing it anyways. It's not actually a bug, just getting unlucky.
It’s a joke that every time you discard a card on MTGO the opponent immediately draws another one. It’s also a shuffler joke, like you shuffle a Ponder and draw a card you just shuffled away.
@@BoshNRoll What's crazy is that it happened twice in the same league during two separate games. You thoughtseize Ei and they draw Ei. You thoughtseize Snap and they draw Snap. Fishy Fishy
I do not like the Grixis version. There are only a small handful of cards that make the red worth it. Bolt and REBs are about it. Especially if you're not on DRC. Modern enjoys that Luxury because the way the deck is built and plays, but the Legacy is different, and that's why I prefer UB Shadow instead.
I will also state that the reason UB Shadow feels better is because of consistency and because of Baleful Strix and Snapcaster that you get access to. I know that EI is a VERY good and fucked up card, but the red is just not worth the price.
Hi, I love your video's and watch most of them. I just wanted to share with you that the timestamp is often spoiling us the result of the game (typically when G1 is done , we fast forward the SB part and see that the remaining time in the game is short) Maybe it's ok for most of the viewer's but I really wanted to report it. Thx for the great content BTW
@@BoshNRoll you're doing it perfectly - it is really not much of an issue if you'rr just watching the video and not checking the timeline at the same time. Thanks for all the awesome videos
@@BoshNRoll yeah, it would be a worse viewer experience. I guess after having the internet making everything so convenient for us, we just need to learn to not look at the progress bar of the video when we use the mouse (we poor people xD)
Honestly, DRC is just a better card than Death’s Shadow in nearly every possible scenario, and it doesn’t require you to play a third color. If this deck seems appealing to you, just play izzet murktide instead.
Cut a wastelands for a swamp. Complaining about having a basic then lossing 0:2 to stifle waste then waste waste?? I think you need more basic and less colorless land..
Sorry I don't watch content that lose round one...everything is easy street with tiebreaks when you lose round one and zero chance for top 8 unless undefeated rest of swiss while rest of top 8 draw into it.
So, you basically don't watch any Video that doesn't start with a Victory? Like, you are aware that variance and luck and even matchup are a huge Factor, and even the best Deck in the Format can have a bad start/Draw... And, in my experience, you learn more from an interesting loss then from a lucky Victory, so I realy don't understand your reason.
@@moerdere1ch round one loss is easy street vs lossing decks..tie breaks in tournaments are so bad must go undefeated rest of swiss. a round one loss not worth anyone time watching. If it was worth my time then start a different league and see if you can get the deck off round one. You don't have the tickets? Or you desire convenience content? Your testing the deck out, right so why not run it through a tougher ringer that one league?
