I have seen many glaciers around the world, and it is the same story; glaciers are melting at an alarming rate. The "heart's" arteries are being clogged with higher greenhouse emissions, warming the planet, melting the ice, and leaving less ice to reflect back the solar radiation. It is a nasty feedback loop. Impressive video, Aidin. Superb storytelling, cinematography, and editing.

This is the lie Blackrock and the World Economic Forum and so on have been feeding you and everybody else, because they want you in fear because then you will be more easily controllable. If you haven't noticed yet(sadly you have not) there are actual evil people in this world who want to rule the world alone and want everybody else to submit to them. Modern day slavery. You can look up Patrick Moore and see what he has to say about carbon dioxide and more. Climate change is a business that are constantly being altered to fit the narrative of evil people. These people couldn't care less about nature. It's just a tool to cause fear and make humanity tear eachother apart. They want us all to suffer, and eventually they'll offer the one solution to fix it all(obviously all bs and lies) which is giving in to them and let them do what ever they want with this world. If you as much as think about disagreeing with them, you'll have that on your record, and before you know it we're all meat robots with no lives. You people are helping evil have it their way because you eat and spread their lies every single day without question.

@@idontcare2851 By and large glaciers are retreating. That does not mean that all are--If those near you are stable I'm happy to hear it. The one I visited more recently, Perito Moreno, is too. But those are the exceptions to the rule, and should not be used as an excuse to brush away warranted concern.

I don't usually comment on videos, but this is just awesome. I'm an undergraduate geology student and I must admit that glaciers were never all that interesting to me until recently. I am currently taking a geomorphology course instructed by two very prominent glacial geomorphologists and they've absolutely lured me into all things glacier. You clearly did your research and did a great job simplifying some of the more complex dynamics of glacial activity. Geologists are so often concerned with what has already happened and the breadcrumbs we've been left behind, and it's a great change of pace to have someone like you remind us that the present and future is just as important. Very well done, I'd love to look at more of your content. It's a shame this video has

I recently had the once in a lifetime of opportunity to visit Iceland as part of a school trip. I’m only young, 16, but it changed me. On my third day we pulled up in seemingly the middle of nowhere. We met up with a group of really lovely locals to go glacier walking, but at first I was very confused because ‘base camp’ was almost out of sight from the glacier itself. They explained to me as we hiked towards the glacier that where we were walking used to be glacier 20 years ago, but due to climate change it had receded leaving a deep, long valley. I was shocked, obviously, but what hurt me and put the scale into perspective was that the ‘base camp’ and car park used to be at the foot of the ice just 25 years ago, and yet now all that was left was a partially flooded valley floor for about 2km before actually reaching the ice itself. The glacier walk itself was magical, but since returning my mind keeps on casting back to this moment. It’s made me realise how small humans are, yet their impact on the world is greater than I could ever imagine. The future is really up to us, and since my trip and discovering your channel I’ve been so inspired to just get out there and travel the world and, more importantly, protect what we have left and to help the Earth recover where possible. Thank you for all you do, your content is amazing and I really appreciate you raising awareness about the natural beauty of this planet! ❤

Incredible video. I climbed Rainier earlier this year via the Emmons Glacier, the first time I've ever been on or even near a large existing glacier. The whole experience really put into perspective how immense the glaciers are up there, and just how vital the glaciers are to the PNW in so many ways. Having been raised in North Carolina, it always seemed like "glaciers" were just something found in textbooks, not something that so many communities in the US actively rely on to this day.

I've been to the North Pole 3 times (Navy) and have seen what the accompanying ice scientists had to say firsthand about the diminishing ice sheets. I live where there are glaciers and I can say that I can definitely see that they're getting smaller every year. It's alarming and scary to see glaciers disappear. I frequent the Nooksack River area as well as the Kulshan wilderness area. Seeing Mt. Shuksan and it's many glaciers are a true gem in the North Cascades. In fact, I was probably out in that area while you were filming.

I really appreciate the films you've been doing centered on ecology/environmental issues. They are concise, informative, and very well produced. As an ecologist who works in part on coastal climate change and sea-level rise (in the PNW and California), I've come to believe that film and other artistic media often have more power to convey the importance of healthy ecological systems to humankind than any amount of data that scientists can produce. Of course the science is critical to understanding the magnitude and urgency of issues like climate change, and to developing good policies to addressing those issues, but scientists often may not have the reach that film, music, or other forms of art can have to the public more broadly. I'm also an amateur still photographer, printmaker, and writer so I've increasingly thought about ways to convey conservation information in non-scientific ways. Great work!
