Today we learnt how important szoboslai is in this team he may not have that attacking edge but his off ball contribution is important to this team.So we should appreciate him more I wont care as much if he doesn't assist or score as much as we want. But he brought the balance in midfield and we were much better when he came on.Also endo should be given more minutes, its not a must we stick to the same midfield every week
It's sad that Elliott is injured because he's the only player who's similar to him in the squad and can effectively rotate with him. Jones and Mac Allister can rotate with eachother but Gravenberch and Endo are completely different.
Salah never gets the praise he deserve in awards. He is been carrying Liverpool offense for many seasons. That cross over run timing is pure football IQ.
the fuck did salah do against Timber? everyone is overlooking that Arsenal were playing with a back three containing of a CDM, 2 full backs as centre halfs and a 17 year of Lewis-Skelly
Liverpool did exactly the same as the did against Chelsea, Macca marked on the left to cover Saka/Havertz, gaping hole in midfield at times. There has to be an alternative. Also, Robertson, has been an incredible leftback, but he’s struggling and should at be a back up by now, sadly.
Glad to see Szoboszlai getting some credit. He’s a player that isn’t rated by the masses due to his average output, but I feel is hugely important to the way this team functions.
A note on Arsenal's bench 'depth', Arsenal was already missing Saliba, Califiori, Tomiyasu, Odegaard. Then you're forced to take Gabriel and Timber off due to injury/cramps. That's ~5 starting XI players that aren't on the pitch to see the game out. Subs are ideally and often aimed at improving how the game is going - whether that be putting on fresh legs or simply putting on more quality. Point you made with Szobozlai for example who was immense. Liverpool were missing Jota and Alisson. So yes, bench depth is gonna be an issue for Arsenal when your starting 11 is already missing ~2-3 starters, while 2 more starters are forced off rather than intentionally switched for tactical reasons.
Arsenal were the better team in the first half, Liverpool in the second half. Their decision making in the final third was woeful and towards the end, their game management was shocking. Didn’t try keep the ball safe and instead just booted it long. But overall, a fair result I think. Liverpool will be the happier of the 2 teams after that first half performance and taking a point at a very tough place away
Not sure what you mean crying. It sucks to have key players injured, and I think it's fine to complain as fans, unless you're 115 and can contrive to have a world class squad. As an arsenal fan, this game was pretty irrelevant to me, it's very clear that 115 are going to take it, and the pgmol will just get more and more involved as needed to keep any contenders at bay (I way rather pool than 115 but I know they will never be given a chance either). Kind of depressing tbh that all we are really competing for are champions League spots, But maybe one day the league will get cleaned up.
who was injured for liverpool and whowas injures for Arsenal. Arsenal literally played injured players buddy, an injured timber pocketed salah, an injured saka sent Robo to the streets. i thought liverpool where suppose to smash Arsenal
Szobo getting the wijinaldum treatment by Liverpool fans ATM and it's sad to see, they are the type to do the dirty work that goes under the radar and get criticised for not contributing as much as they want on the ball
I’m no football genius but Slot did exactly what i wanted him to in terms of team selection and then how he changed the game with subs, the only dilemma’s before the game were curtis or szoboszlai and tsimikas or robbo, he chose curtis cus he’s better defensively so it worked better in terms of controlling the midfield against a good arsenal midfield possession wise, then he chose robertson for that experience. Then in the 60th minute he realised the balance wasn’t right in midfield like jones wasn’t comfortable in that 10 position when it came to creating chances or movement so he brought on szoboszlai, he brought on tsimikas for robbo because frankly he had a bad game all round then gakpo for diaz to offer something different in the attack. It didn’t work in terms of us dominating and winning the game but the logic of it was exactly what i thought he should do
Timber impressed me with salah but he’s just got everything in the locker now. Back off he cuts you with passes. Come close he’s still fastest over short distances.
Havertz was great in terms of making space for saka to get into but i feel like he and trossard really limited what martinelli could do in this game. When martinelli got the ball he’d always have trent AND konate on him at the same time so he had no chance at getting through, if trossard or havertz made a run in behind konate or occupied him maybe martinelli could’ve got past trent once or twice and made something happen. Trent has been unreal defensively this season it’s ironic because i haven’t seen a better fullback than him defensively this season even tho just last season he was still being called out defensively but that’s one outlet they could’ve gone down cus all martinelli needed was to beat him once and that could’ve been the deciding goal
he wouldn’t tho i don’t think. martin is more of an incisive passer and tempo controller while esr is a better progressor for dribbling. they aren’t like for like in that way and i feel he didn’t want another potential season on the bench.
@@DzT910besides i dont think ESR has what it takes mentally to play for arsenal now with the expectations, we was decent when we finished 5th but hasn't been able to influence games before he was eventually sold
@@musondamusonda1205 even after he came back from injury, look at florian writz for instance came back from an ACL and demanded more from himself even in the spotlight was one of the pillars for his team but ESR would often look like he was shying away from the spotlight at arsenal
isn’t not showing up a concern? like if my team “don’t show up” to one of the most important opportunity for points i’d be concerned. especially considering the saliba red card and odegaard injury being great chances to get one over arsenal.
@@DzT910exactly, their results has been imo papering over cracks salah is still their most consistent attacker with the midfield offering little to no creativity. On paper, yes it looks good from a Liverpool perspective that they got a draw away at the Emirates but, considering the fact arsenal were with saliba, calafiori, ødegaard, with saka and timber not being fully fit and other players playing out of position, this was a golden opportunity for Liverpool to have won against arsenal, like man city failing to beat 10 men arsenal, it could come back and bite Liverpool
I said to my mate just before the game started that i was confident we would only concede from 2 ways, a bit of magic from saka (first goal) or a set piece (second goal) in open play i wasn’t worried at all because their players other than saka can’t produce magic and konate, van dijk, trent and gravenberch have been amazing defensively this season
Trent was not terrible lol, it wasn’t a good game from him it was his worst game this season for sure but that doesn’t mean he was terrible, terrible was our other fullback on the left. He didn’t get done defensively or if he did it was once cus i don’t remember seeing it then on the ball he was quite conservative all game only making that pass 2/3 times but obviously he made one of the goals so in general it was just a meh game from him, it would’ve been a bad game but he didn’t cost us defensively and he made us a goal so when u put it that way it’s a decent game
Curtis Jones is not the player people think he is, an okay performance against an average chelsea team and all of a sudden slot it ruining the first 11 chemistry in such an important game
