It's time to share what we've been reading this September! Some of our reading this month was by candlelight (thanks, Hurricane Helene!), but it was all enjoyable nonetheless. This month we have a fun time travel story, an epic history tale, the intriguing memoirs of a pilgrimage leader, and so much more for you. We're also taking a close look at the Seven Sorrows of Mary- a very beautiful and powerful devotion. Our bookshelf adventures await; we hope you will enjoy them!

We are glad to be on the other side of the hurricane, Lena. It seems as though the more we read about JPII, the more amazing things come to light. St. John Paul the Great, pray for us!

I love that color on you, Jennifer! So pretty! My Grandpa flew in a bomber in WWII. I have the audio version of The Bomber Mafia borrowed on Libby. We are moving N and her family to WI this week. We are taking our WWII buffet with us. We will be listening on our way north!

Loved your recommendations for September! Do you ever pick up used books from St Vincent DePaul. I came across author, Wayne Weible, and is account of Medjugorie. Please keep this going! I can’t wait for more episodes! I love organized you are!

We're so glad you enjoyed the video. We have a SVDP food bank here, but we don't have a SVDP thrift store with books. If we did, we would absolutely shop there!

Thank you for all your interesting book reads. I have added "In the Stars the Glory of His Eyes" to my TBR list- it sounds like a very fun but informative book. I just finished reading Catholic Answers/Jimmy Akins' 20 Answers: Salvation. Loved it--this book is a keeper. It talks about the complicated topic of how we are saved and it explains in detail what we as Catholics believe and why we believe it vs. what many Protestants believe. Plus a whole lot more. I also read Living Joy by Chris Stefanik (was this book one of your recommendations?). Very good book--a quick read and worth reading twice to let the ideas and suggestions sink in. We also loved Living Joy! The Jimmy Akin is one we have not read (yet), but in general we also highly enjoy his books. Thanks for the tip!

I read a couple of books about sheep (!)--A Short History of the World According to Sheep, by Sally Coulthard, which is about the contribution sheep have made to the human race, and The Lost Flock: Rare Wool, Wild Isles and One Woman’s Journey to Save Scotland’s Original Sheep, by Jane Cooper, which is about an average English woman living a suburban life, who ends up moving with her husband to an island off the coast of Scotland and raising a rare breed of sheep in danger of extinction. The other book I read was The Hermit, by Kevin Wells, which is an intense story about the author and his wife, who was struggling with alcoholism, and the amazing priest who went to extremes to help both of them. It's an amazing book! I highly recommend it. May we all find such a devoted priest to come to our aid when we need one.

Let us know how you like it! It is very intense in some places- you just have to keep reading to find out what happens next. I so appreciated how honest both Kristina and her son Luca were.
