I had a break-up back in 2017. It destroyed me. Never thought i was gonna heal. I would listen to this song on repeat the first 7 months after the break up. I thought maybe joining the military would help heal my heartache. But all i could think about was her. I would write letters that i kept to myself. I would dream about her almost every night. I couldn't move on, didnt even try really. Dated but with no real outcomes. 3 years after i met this wonderful girl who changed my life the moment i picked her up from her house. Has the best 2 weeks of leave with her and i stopped dreaming about my ex. That girl is now my wife and we've been married since 2021.
There are moments in life that are so deep and meaningful, it's like these moments almost feel still... as if time completely stopped, so that you could soak in every detail. On my brother's 15th birthday, Blink played in Atlanta, and I had one of 'those' moments during the show (little did I know I wouldn't get many more with him); after a crazy live performance, the stage cleared, the curtain dropped, and it was just Blink-182 guitarist Tom on stage with his guitar, and he played a song I had never heard (I was in shock that there was a song I didn't know)... yet Andy knew every word. I just watched this beautiful, blonde-haired boy sing every word to this absolutely gorgeous melody... the song was called "What Went Wrong", and I can't listen to it without imagining that moment. He died in a car wreck 2 years later. That was one of my favorite memories with my brother. I connect this band to him.

I remember sitting in my one-bedroom apartment, listening to this on blast. I had just turned 19, and for the first time in my life, lived by myself (I had/have my dog, Thomas. Ha, I know. I like Blink). A month before, I had a falling out with 2 of my best friends, and we all moved out of our house that we were renting together. We never talked after that. All I did was work, come home, have a panic attack, try to sleep. Repeat. Fast forward, I have a new home, a baby, a wonderful woman, and a good life. This song still brings back those feelings, powerful. (Yes, I still have Tom DeDogge.)

That happened to me too. I've pushed my girl far for my personal problems and for our issues. Later when I understand how much she meant to me it was too late. Sometimes people can't understand our feelings, why we push they back in some moments. The person that will understand our problems and will always be there for us is the right person. I still search that person, but it's almost impossible to find. I'm losing hope
Not only can Blink rock shit up with fast chords, but they can slow it down and make meaningful music. Been 12 years and it still means just as much as when i was age 12. That's the mark of a true artist.

i understand how you may feel. sometimes we cannot control our feelings and we need to reach out to people who can hopefully help us. we can't always do things on our own. we need that support and care. don't listen to people who say "suck it up!" they're the ones who need to be pitied and need more help with how they really feel. you just need to seek some help, even if that is a therapist. i hope you can find the help you need.
