@@KaptainKuba dude, you forgot the part where after he bowed on the four cardinal directions, he randomly shoots lasers out of his eyes, so bright that it reached the Jade Emperor's palace to the point where the Jade Emperor was like "yo tf they doin ova there". I am not making this up

The story about sun wukong and the movies are so damn cool and interesting. I cant wait for this game. I think mythology based games are the best imo. All those gods and creatures are so cool and powerful and fighting them just hits different

I hope we get to play the part of the story where he assaults heaven. But the newest trailer is kinda contradicting it with the headband being shown. He doesnt receive it until after he has been imprisoned by buddha for 500 years for the assault on heaven. But i suppose we wont know until it comes out

As a fan of Journey to the West and a long-time follower of Black Myth, I greatly admire your in-depth exploration and analysis of the story. I also believe your insights are worth considering. Based on the lead developers' past creative endeavors, this Black Myth game is likely to be a deconstruction and reimagining of the Journey to the West theme, aiming to uncover and explore the darker aspects that might not be present in the original tale. Maybe you guys already know that The Chinese title of Black Myth 黑神话 actually refers to 'dark' rather than 'black'.

Im thinking either time travel or descendant that's kinda high on himself and the real Wukong is trying to get him to be less selfish. Idk, either way Im so looking forward to this game! The Monkey King is by far my favorite mythical figure

The story is after original wukong became the god. During journey to the west wukong was controlled by a thorn, so wukong decided to suicide and get rid of it (begining fight with Er lang god). Many years later, the character we play was born, and going through the journey again to became the new Wukong. That's why this game has two endding. If we fight er lang first and retrive memory, we became new wukong. Er lang will tell you all the monsters you fought were assigned by him to grow you as wukong. If we have not fought er lang, by the end of the game we became another broken shell. 9:44 9:44

Because the concept of life and death in Journey to the West originates from the Buddhist concept of reincarnation. The order of reincarnation is controlled by a Bodhisattva, but in this timeline, the Bodhisattva in charge of reincarnation may no longer be there. Therefore, it is normal for any character who was killed in the original work to be resurrected. In this black myth, life and death have been out of order.😀

I believe the protagonist is not the real Wu Kong; he’s someone who’s on a mission to defeat the monsters in pursuit of power. It will be such an awesome twist if the game switches over to the real Wu Kong at the very end of the game for a finale showdown.

There's another theory. Time travel Sun Wukong. The successful wukong stops the past not yet successful wukong from doing things he will regret etc

If Wu kong successfully gained enlightenment, why are human still suffering from unfortunate events? The real Wu kong died on his first stop to the west. There are no monsters, but human who are worse than monsters. The gods stages the journey to the west to make people obey to them.
