Your prediction about juniors is spot on. This will end up being the most important pipeline in the US. Even if they don't go to a 4-year university, they can start or join a club at a 2-year college, still get scholarships, and still compete against 4-year universities. My prediction is that Pickleball is really going to blow up in Central America in 2024. Panama has a regional tournament in March and Costa Rica is hosting a big international tournament in September. There is also a crazy high demand for pickleball facilities to be built in Costa Rica.

Long Time Subscriber love the pod and honesty. I predict that no matter what happens with the mergers that Jilly B will be at the forefront leading the way for the players and lets be honest putting herself at risk for the better good of our beloved sport.

New pickleball fan for about 2 months and the behind scenes drama is way more juicy then I expected from all angles (player vs. player or workplace politics). Adderall is only something I've attributed to something like eSports and while I'd agree drug testing seems prudent, with how uncertain the future of PPA/MLP is playing out, it would not be implemented in near future imo. Any support from players calling for the policy could be easily met with equal amount of silence/indifference from players who do abuse substance(s) for competitive edge.
Woo-hoo! Pickleball is joy! You guys have the biggest scoops. But more importantly and unlike other podcasts, you advocate and fight the good fight. I enjoy listening to your podcast and on top of that I get to win prizes!! ❤#winning
@@jillybpickleball Thank you for your response and for the prize! I emailed you this morning but let me know if I need to do something different #winning
Fun and informative pod! Love your authenticity and insightful commentary… I predict junior pickleball will emerge as a new option in high school sports in fall of 2024 and at clubs around the country. I also expect the “players collective” will influence the governing bodies of pickleball to test for PED’s like other major sports (basketball, golf, football, etc.,). Lastly, PPA leadership will change. Good luck 🍀 in the Masters Jilly B!!
Fantastic Podcast, I am very excited about the giveaways! My prediction/hope is that both PPA and MLP players get the same percentage reduction to their contracts and not what we are seeing right now. For the sake of professional pickleball, I hope I am right :)

Hi Jilly B Predictions Pickleball Juniors is going to take off in 2024. Who wouldn't want to play pickleball. It's the best sport. I played tennis for years, former tennis fanatic and nothing can compare to pickleball Kids are starting to show up at our local parks and they have big smiles on their faces It's going to be huge. We are seeing the college competition on the tours and the middle school/high school will be next. Prediction : singles next week in the Masters will bring you Joy!
My prediction is that PB will continue to grow and become even more popular. Other countries will start picking it up as well and there will be some international tournaments- like worlds type 😉 thanks for all you guys do!!
Thank you for your time and posting. Really liked K-Dub's sweatshirt. I don't see a merger, ever, not with present PPA management. Do not see any drug testing, I don't see Ben using but I can see ALW possibly using so PPA won't do it. You are correct, can't even get standard paddle testing. Remember, managers don't have to do anything. Think PPA, they don't do anything that equates to sportsmanship, honesty, and integrity. And they are still going strong. :( Thank you again, best of luck in the upcoming tourney.
Excellent format and content. I learn something I didn't expect every time. Thanks! Great job! You teased us with the "bomb will drop and heads will roll.." My prediction is that I win the Ruck!

42:05 love the pod I completely agree with you on the college pipeline I have a 12 year old who I placed in tennis camp this summer and she was not excited about it. I started taking her with me to pickle ball and she loves it now she asks me to go!

Long arms in singles, aim dead center at them, drive as hard and low as you can, clean up on the next shot. Mix with a smattering of making them run all over the court and occasional "drips". Always fun!
Hey, I’ve been subscribed so here’s my prediction, we’ll maybe more of a hope. Looking forward to new improved management of the PPA. Perhaps a new organization so that the PPA becomes history. Anxiously waiting for the success of the coalition. #winning

My prediction is that Tyson mcguffin with new paddle with joola he will win a lot of gold this year and Jilly b will make it to alot of final games in 2024
Hoping for less drama in 24. APP still is enjoyable for me (rec/player spectator) Yes the field is thin, but so much talent comin via the Collegiate level. Agree, Agree. TV showing delayed tournaments edited to fit their slot makes it work. Hoping more States form Teams like AZ and OK. State vs State competion could get some looks I think. Good luck at The Masters, no jet lag👍
What's going on with paddle testing? Could it be that the easy-to-use deflection test does not reliably predict rebound speed (COR)? And therefore the deflection force had to be relaxed? (from 50 to 40 lbs) I also wonder if the paddle manufacturers that support USAP, MLP, etc have expensive stock of paddles that would be illegal under the former standard (50lbs) and exerted pressure to relax the standard.
I predict that the tour organizations and their Pickleball sponsors will completely miss the point in helping the Global Pickleball Federation get Pickleball into the Olympics.
I agree that the alphabet soup of organizations will continue to hold back growth until it gets sorted. Also, building a strong junior program is critical to the growth over the next year. I think we may be a couple years out from really having a solid junior programs nationally. There may be good programs starting in key states like southern California and Florida, but it won't be national this year. I think the #1 key for growth is figuring out a compelling TV/streaming viewer model that drives expanded viewership & sponsors similar to the majors in tennis/golf. I am surprised by the small crowds in the stands for events that claim to be national championships every other week.
I predict women’s single will finally be entertaining to watch again with the return of Jilly B and Lea! (If there is a league where everyone coexists and actually includes singles)
I predict paddle technology will continue to evolve at a dizzying pace. I think wider body paddles, the old school standard shape, will become more popular as elongated paddles become less popular. Hybrid shapes may also see a slight increase in consumer demand. I wish I could predict more players would choose to use protective eyewear, but sadly, I don't see that happening.
I have heard many complaints from amateurs about the PPA experience. I predict they will still attract large numbers of entrants despite their poor reputation.
Agreed on juniors play will pick up. I also think the APP growth insight is solid - I think (for now) pickleball is better financially as a participatory sport than spectator, which is one big advantage financially APP has over MLP. I watch Pro Tourneys streaming, but even die hard pickleball players I know, for whatever reason, are not as interested in watching pros play.
Yes it's going to have to eventually flip the script to catch up to tennis, golf or basketball where people will watch who DON'T play, not just the rec pb players watching.
Lots of changes in the Pickleball world coming! Including more rules around regulatimg paddles. The sport will continue to grow playerwise, brandwise, spectatorwise. The conglomerates will team up and some will fade quickly. Schools and colleges have it now so that will continue to grow and more young athletes will rise. Will we see someone else other than ALW run the show? I think so!
Yes... If you have knee problems.. Always look to the back first. It's so surprising that a lot of Doctors don't even considerate it when people complain about their knees. I am not a Doctor, but I have seen and experienced this phenomenon many times. #pickleballchris #tylerwrenpropickleball #optahealthandwellness
So done with the merger drama... get it together and grow-up. I like both formats, so hoping both work. Guess maturity takes time. My prediction is for a lot of upsets and more fun.
I just feel like 2024 season there will be a lot of upsets this year. I feel like we're seeing the same people every tournament in the finals. If I was a pro top 20 I would be frustrated because feel like you try so hard yet the top five is always there. I get it that's why they are top five but I just feel like the bottom 15 will make the offseason count It will get better and study harder on opponents weaknesses and hopefully the top 20 will get shuffled around so we can see new faces take the podium
Hard to believe but in 2021 there was no Anna Bright, Parris Todd, James Ignatowich, Jaume, Connor Garnet, Tyra or Christian...the new faces are going to continue to flood.
Prediction - this is the last year of the unregulated volley serve. The fiasco in the final matches of the year, with the Johns brothers against Tyson and his partner, continuing to serve higher and higher, daring the ref to call the serves illegal, was the punctuation that the current version is broken. We are on the way to drop serves only.
I predict merger between PPA and MLP will succeed and lead to chaos between players and team owners as the leaders of the PPA drive the league into the ground.
I predict that Ben and Anna will NOT be the best players for the year. Also, I predict that shorter wide body paddles are going to become more popular among players. Love the Pod!😁❤️
I def agree with drug testing coming. My predictuon is the APP closes the gap woth the PPA in terms of popularity, as people wanna see new talent and the APP has some good tv contracts kicking in
PPA still about all Pro. Juniors in Pro. They will focus on amateurs after figuring out Juniors. PPA and MLP will merge. Ben and AL playing together will get old very soon. Them winning all the time will not bring on my viewers. It will be great to see how other partners play with them.
I predict that in 2024 nothing much changes, just more confusion. However, I do believe that a major political figure starts waving a paddle around for political gain of course. Thank you for doing your show and sharing yourselves.

@jillybpickleball I don't really care for Rally scoring. I am just a 4.0 player with some physical limitations, I go for some bigger servers to help set me up for easier 3rds. The ralley aspect gets into my head, and I don't think I am as good with my serve because of it.
If pickleball wants to be a competitive sport, then drug testing should be done. Drug testing should be a very straightforward process. Paddle testing is very sport specific but there are numerous drug protocols that pickleball can adapt to and learn from other sports.
While I 100% agree that drug testing should happen and consequences should be harsh for those using PEDs, I urge you to do some research on ADHD and the medications used, like Adderall. The impacts it would have if, those with an actual prescription who have been through psychological testing (and it is a highly controlled medication so getting a prescription shouldn’t be easy unless you have a doctor willing to risk their license) would be big. Your example of it being ridiculous to need to TRY to focus during a match was a naive comment that shows the lack of understanding of those that are neurodivergent- which I don’t think was your intention but do think needs to be brought to your attention as this is a huge issue that impacts mental health of millions of people. Neurodivergent brains, like those with ADHD, are wired SO differently. And using stimulant medication, like Adderall, when you have a differently wired prefrontal cortex is not performance enhancing.. it only has a “cocaine” effect if you are neurotypical.. which is what creates the performance enhancing effect. People who have untreated ADHD are more likely to suffer from anxiety, depression, panic attacks, etc… so blankety calling the medications that treat it as PEDs could have a huge negative impact on the mental health of those who are legally and legitimately prescribed it. I’ll get off my soapbox, this is just a huge huge huge passion of mine because of how much misunderstanding and misinformation is out there.
@@jillybpickleball it’s January 23rd, looks to me like I should’ve won the give away :) or an honorable mention :) p.s. heard next month’s challenger event was canceled.
Happy Valentine’s Day. Still no merger. At this point even if it happens I still think I had the best prediction :) also at this stage building vibe is so much better for the PPA than saving the MLP it would be a fiduciary travesty if Connor goes through with the merger.
