The Story Oracle has multiple meanings for upright and reversed. All are *grounded,* keywords or key phrases, which means no bible studying a guidebook, just to figure out a meaning. The other oracle just has one keyword at the bottom. The Story Oracle wins for me. 🤷🏽♀️ I have it. It’s a hidden gem. 😆 So underrated lol.
I use the Vintage Wisdom Oracle with the Relative Tarot and also the Tyldwick! Which I know sounds odd, but I feel like the Vintage Wisdom 'people' are echoes of those who lived in the mansion and their energies are present in the objects within the Tyldwick cards.
As a newer subscriber who’s been binging all of your videos, this was my first time getting to participate in your polls for this series on the community tab. It was so much fun previewing all of these decks before the video! Ooh, I loved seeing the pairings with the deck you’re making too 🦄 The Wandering Soul and Unfolding Path look so good together as well! Loved this whole thing 🩵✨
I enjoyed experiencing this even though I never consider the notion of pairing decks and there feels like a co-dependency trait to it that makes me uncomfortable. I like to feel like a deck can stand adequately on its own. That isn't to say I might not find it interesting sometime to experiment with the idea of trying to use paired decks together. I guess I'm sort of stuck in open readings of single decks and it's like adding a layer of using spreads or trying playing cards off against each other. I already feel like maybe there's enough language playing cards off against one another within a single deck. But you've given me food for thought. Deciding the value of a deck depending on whether or not it plays well with another....hmmm.
I noticed this time that there were a few more decks (so it seemed) that you maybe bought impulsively, "just because". How about making the pre-purchase equivalent of your Purgatory Drawer? I *have* noticed that in some of your Hot Takes videos that you do wait sometimes before backing indie/Kickstarter decks. Anyway, great video as always. Samhain, Halloween, All Saints blessings.

I have the Animated Tarot too. I chose to sleeve mine because I knew if they weren't sleeved, I would never use the deck. Anyway I overhand shuffle and I just do half the deck at a time. Not the best, but it's manageable. I use this deck for "workday forecast" type spreads. I like the Adventure Prep spread from the guidebook but I also came up with a "One-Shot Workday Spread" (pretty sure I came up with this, hoping I didn't copy someone else by mistake). It goes: Party Comp: draw three cards; this is the 'party of adventurers' composition; this is what I am working with as far as my brain state and mindset. Random Encounter: draw one card; random encounter or challenge I might face today. And the for fun I might roll a d20 for a challenge rating for the random encounter card.
Fyodor Pavlov Tarot caught me by surprise, too! Got it on a whim and fell completely in love!! Became my ride or die. ❤ Feels so comfortable and homey and nostalgic. 🥰 Next time I'm in the MA area I really want to get a tattoo by the artist. ❤

Definitely holds a different space than Vintage Wisdom for me, so I’m glad to see you keep both! You might not’ve eliminated as aggressively as you thought you would, but you did good!! Really tough choices, but you made wise ones. 😊

I know recommending decks on a video where your trying to cull your collection PROBABLY isn't helpful, but I feel like the issues you have with the Folklore Tarot isn't present in the Silhouette Tarot while being similar still. I can't really explain why the Folklore Tarot is like the Silhouette Tarot, but there's something about it's illustrations that remind me of a minimalist pip version of the Silhouette Tarot. Probably helps that the Silhouette Tarot has this fairytale vibe too!
Ohhhhhhhh energetics of color has more focused images, with a primary color and image instead of multiples of each. I love color and would buy both. I didn’t realize I was extra until I started purchasing decks. They are like lays potato chips, I can’t just buy one. 🤣
Vision of the muse is a beautiful Oracle and I understand perfectly your feeling about it, this happened to me with The faceted Garden oracle is so pretty but ... nothing... just don't "speak" to me 😞 is just keeping dust now. I found more hard to find a oracle to like than a tarot deck 🤷🏽🤔
Hm, I’d be curious to see the visions of the muse paired with the witches tarot, you know, the one with all the tatas! Dawn Michelle has both decks right?
I'd be really curious if the process of making your own deck has changed the desirable traits you look for in a tarot deck or if you approach decks you own differently now.
The animated tarot looks like it’s that grooved plastic that most of those moving pictures are made of and that’s an immediate deal breaker for me! The texture of those alone is like nails on a chalkboard and I literally shuddered when you shuffled them.
I enjoyed every moment of this! So funny about the two decks you bought after your visit, but I agree, the Energetics is much more versatile. Oh no, you might have just talked me into repurchasing the Vintage Wisdom! I forgot how good that one is. Also, the sneak peek pairing with your deck, I am here for it!! 🥰

I’m a talker too, I’m Italian from nyc so I talk and it’s very animated…lol. I have a wish list and it grows daily, hourly in fact and so many come from your videos. Love the energetic of color oracle, I love drawing and art is a passion hobby so the colors, the way there’s a swatch and the overall aesthetic tickles me in all of my ticklish places. I’ll be getting that one soon. The Pavlov deck is stunning, love it. About pastel magic vs penelope, I I would penelope even though I like neutral pips. That's because I prefer flgures taking action and generally having a readable gestures in the trumps and the courts. It's like they become different types of words, almost. For a modern example, I'm in love with Fifth Spirit, and if I liked its aesthetic more, probably would have considered penelope.

Fyodor was a great mass market quality for sure but for me the guidebook was lacking for me. As a long time reader I can grab a standard RWS and go but someone new bought this and kept reaching out to me to explain things so it's not beginner friendly. I do really hope US Games is going to up their game with this kind of card stock, packaging and hard cover books would be great!
I hope they stay affordable and stay away from unsustainable, bigger than necessary packaging and from forcing us to buy a full guidebook with every single deck, even if we don't need it nor want it.
With the visions of the muse Oracle have you tried using it with a minimalist tarot? If you want one that will match the look of them I would recommend the Midnight Black version of Soul Cards tarot. But I feel that would compete with your Fortuna tarot
I haven’t really used my earth moon shadow deck cuz I needed to sit on it for a min cuz I had kind of a bad xp with the creator when I preordered it. I love it, but needed time to separate the energy. I may have to just wait for your unicorn deck cuz I love the pairing! That’s kinda rad they match so well. I’m surprised by some of your choices, but that’s part of what makes these so fun. Idr if you have the relative tarot or not, but I’d be curious to see how that pairs with the beloved dead. The beloved dead is def on my wishlist. I’d also think the vintage wisdom would pair with the beautiful rebellion. This is so fun. I love when you do these. Thanks for sharing! ❤
None of them appealed to me. The Romantic deck was OK except the XXI card looks so vulgarian and doesn't evoke the feeling of peace and completion. I'll stick with my classical deck.
