Today we are strolling through the rural Langde Miao Village in Kaili City, Guizhou Province in 2024. This is a Miao village that is definitely worthy of your respect. Every day, as long as the weather is not too bad, the whole village will dress up to welcome the tourists of the day, even if there is only one tourist today. During the off-season of tourism, there won't be too many people coming here, and there may even be situations where only three to five people come in a day. But the etiquette of receiving guests and dressing up performances of the villagers here are not lacking. So, Langde Miao Village is definitely a village worth respecting.
Most Miao villages in Guizhou are built on mountains, and the living environment is extremely difficult. You can't even drive or ride motorcycles in the village. The slate road and steps are the internal roads of the village. It is impressive that most Miao villages in the mountains of Guizhou are like this.
Guizhou is the only province in China without plains, and in earlier years it was also one of the poorest provinces in China. Therefore, you can see from the Langde Miao Village that the lives of local ethnic minorities are not easy. Compared to many highly commercialized villages, Langde Miao Village is more primitive and grounded. You can experience the living environment and pace of the Miao people in the mountains up close. The Miao ethnic group can be divided into short skirt Miao and long skirt Miao. The Langde Miao Village is a Miao ethnic group with long skirts. Today, let's follow the camera and see the real appearance of Langde Miao Village together. This video was filmed in January 2024, if you also enjoy the real-life shooting of the streets and alleys in China. Then you can follow me, I will keep updating.

Those have their own dialects. Just few similar words. The ones who speak hmong green/white are located southeast china in Paj tawg la city. It’s like spanish and french now. Both come from Latin, they’re different but still have a lot in common. White hmong is just a derivative of the green.

This branch call themselves "Hmub" or "Ghab nes" speaking central Hmong dialect, but they were called "Hmong Ghab Nes" by other Hmong people where they live with western Hmong. Why? That is because In places where different branches live together, they will use the method of "Hmong + sub branch name" to distinguish the branches. However, when a branch is too concentrated, they will omit the name "Hmong". For a long period of history, they will only emphasize the branch name and ignore even forget the general term "Hmong". As many people know, the central Hmong and eastern Hmong are very very concentrated, and they have neglected the "Hmong", But when they move to a mixed areas, they are given the prefix "Hmong".

Do you still know that your nation originated in China? OK. Both the Han and Miao ethnic groups originated from this land of China and are fraternal ethnic groups. The name Miao was not imposed on the Miao people by the Han people, but was formed by history and culture over thousands of years. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, when registering an ethnic group, the official name of each ethnic group was approved by the ethnic group itself. For example, the Yue people, they themselves want to be called the Jing people, and from then on they have been called the Jing people. Since you go to the United States, the roots of national culture have been broken, and you don't understand the historical and cultural heritage of the name Miao for thousands of years, even your looking has changed, so please you should not express your opinion on behalf of the Miao people in China.

Maio people in China are happily to be called Maio in China. Only after it translated into English, the term "Maio" has become a bad word.

@@youtuberx199 No need to talk to the Miao Americans. You ask her whether she speak her mother tougue and know the meaning of Miao? They are jusy a group of people who betrayed their ancestors and lefe homeland and thus been isolated with their root of culture.

Stop being ignorant. Hmong people are ethnic Miao. Miao is simply what Han Chinese call us.
