This idea we should sack him if we don't win the WC is ridiculous. The level of performance and stage we reach should both be taken into account. If we get to the semi-final or final having smashed every team 3 or 4 nil, but then get unlucky and lose on penalties, would we want to sack him? Given we haven't won anything for 58 years, to have the arrogance to say a manager is a failure if they don't win a tournament is quite astonishing.
@@markt804 It's not irrelevant at all, being sacked and a contract expiring are two completely different things. It's relevant as it will be a big factor when the time comes for the FA to decide whether to keep him or not, or maybe Tuchel himself would want to move on meaning he wouldn't need to resign. Get it?
@@BigAl-q1xYes I understand the difference between a contract ending and being sacked, but that remains irrelevant to the point I was making, which was that the FA shouldn't base the decision to keep him purely on whether he wins the tournament or not. Tuchel may well decide to leave of his own accord, but again that's irrelevant, as I'm referring to what basis the FA should use in their decision to retain him.
we all know thomas tuchel's greatest enemy will not be the opponent on the pitch, it will be the english media. i am far from giving you any advice but if you get behind thomas he will england some silverware because he's the perfect fit for your national team who's gifted with the most talented players in the world. they are even more talented than the french, spanish or italian ones - best regards and all the best for the future (from germany) ...
I think people forget Capello was well past it and only had one trophy to his name since 2001 with Roma he had won league with Madrid around time he was chosen for England
I agree that if tuchel don’t win there should be conversation for him to be sacked depending on what happens but where was this energy for Gareth Southgate he should have went after he bottled the final at Wembley against Italy that’s my biggest issue with this all
It is not what he will do, and more what he won’t do. He will not struggle to read tactical changes by the opposition like Southgate. He will not go ultra defensive against teams England have the weapons to hurt like Southgate. He won’t play Kane half fit when he has plenty of alternatives and won’t stay loyal to underperforming players. I fear Southgate could have blown England’s biggest chance to win something because England were a very good team, when over countries were weak and I think now Spain are back, Germany are coming back, Italy are getting stronger, Colombia are becoming stronger and Argentina and France have experience of winning. It will now be more difficult for England to win now than under Southgate era where so many teams were in transition,
It's funny how they said they wanted an English born manager but yet Pep was in the running at one point and people wanted him..news flash Pep ain't English! 😂 Stop being so bloody negative.. We've had non English managers before.. Let's ride the storm and see what my guy can achieve! I think Tuchel is and will be good for England.. His winnings in the past says it all! Let's all hope he can do us all justice.. Ps God help him when the England fans sing 10 German bombers
We wasted the best opportunities sticking with southgate. The other nations were in a very poor state and he still couldn't win. A manager if tuchels stature would have won those with that squad. Other nations are now on their way back so is harder than what southgate had it
He still has same problems, step up and put trust in a different keeper work a way of getting Trent in the side maybe give the captaincy to stones or rice take some pressure off Kane who has 1 tournament left in him and be brave enough to go for it
Making the team better is the reasonable expectation. Declaring anything other than winning the World Cup as failure is silly. No Team can come to the tournament with a greater than 25% chance of winning.
With more and more English players playing abroad, does it matter if the national manager has managed in the premier league? Under Southgate, England did not play like a premiership team.
For once there seems to be a massive disconnect between the media and the public on this managerial appointment. Maybe I live in a bubble but I haven't spoken to anyone who thinks Tuchel is a bad appointment. Everyone I have spoken to has been excited or at worse simply said "let's wait and see what happens". Media needs a story to sell I suppose hence all this drama around him being "German".
I mean the media is just grasping to create something out of nothing for the same old Brexity vibe audience that spend in uneducated & bitter old world that fill the void with either keyboard Nationalism or Lonely copium. Ironic is apart from a few Twitter world, no one is really bothered about this hiring. Twitter buddies not liking something is always a nice thing & means a good side of the story.
I am not sure what I’m shocked at more the fact that England have now got a German manager? Or the fact that the fa didn’t give Eddie Howe a mention or even the ex manager of Brighton I think the FA have ballsed this up
@@treble20 no I am just saying that tuchel got the job & is German I ain’t saying he ain’t a good manager or anything I’m just saying why didn’t the FA have a look at a younger English manager I dong know anything all I know is what I’ve seen on sky sports
It's only because he's German that any of the little Englanders are saying anything. The players in a national team of course 100% come from the country concerned but the manager - couldn't care where they come from as long as we do well.
Yeah true! Instead of having a former professional footballer to tick the boxes as a pundit, we should just have professional chip eater and couch sitter, silversteel6312.
@@smallarmskepa4390 Well, that’s your opinion and opinions are not facts including my own. I didn’t state which of the 3 is clearly a token gesture…..👀
Keep going on about not having international experience what would any england manager have no international experience and won nothing lol give him a chance
Tuchel won't care about style or attacking football that is for sure.... anybody expecting England to win a wc and look good doing it are living in cloud cuckoo land....I think only Brazil 1970 have done that...
Imagine England winning anything with Tuchel in charge - it'd never really be an English victory. England tried to do it on their own, but in the end got the German's to help. Any success would be tainted forever.
