The management office No. 14 has an invitation for executives, which is a kind of special feature where they stay and eat when the deputy general level comes down from Pyongyang. When executives come down from Pyongyang, they will select women aged 21 to 25 with even faces among female prisoners, bathe them, and dedicate them to the executives. Executives use these women as all kinds of tricks and secretly kill them as "runners" to keep them confidential.

I don't think NK is actually communist. While I don't agree with communism, while studying the subject I understood NK is not actually communist. When there are rich and poor, it's not communism anymore
@DanGabriel09
@DanGabriel09 2 года назад
@@readyintrovertone5808 the communism that you talk about never really existed. There were always some people with more privileges than others or more money and so on. That's why "real" communism is utopic. It never existed, it doesn't exist right now and it never will. My country (Romania) abolished communism in 1989, but we still live under it's effects even to this day, considering that most of our politicians that came after the Revolution were the ones that had some influence during the communist era and corruption is still a huge thing in most Eastern European countries. In my opinion, communism is the worst thing that ever happened during the history of this country and most of Eastern Europe. Sending my best thoughts for the North Korean people and I hope that one day they will be free and be able to live a decent life in a normal country.

@@alunjones3860 So it’s not that they want to go back, but they feel it’s necessary to save loved ones lives. Anyone can understand that as a motive, as it is an exceedingly brave and selfless impulse. It is also a grave mistake to do so. There is no advantage to returning for either the families or the escapee. Kim will kill every single escapee that returns in front of his or family as a warning to all other NK citizens. All NKoreans are already living under threat of death at any moment at the whim of a madman. The lives of the remaining families are being used as tools of psychological torture to compel the escapees to falsely believe their families would be spared if they only return. It is diabolical. The escapees must learn to live in freedom while knowing their families are being imprisoned. No matter what Kim promises everyone knows the end result will be that he will have revenge on any escapee and his family whether or not the escapee returns. This is a certainty.

Well there's a big difference called democracy vs authoritarianism. Which is more of what you're comparing than communism vs capitalism
@kgs2280
@kgs2280 2 года назад
Yes, she’s comparing Socialism to a Dictatorship. They’re NOT the same thing. The Nazis and Russians confused people (on purpose) by putting the word “Socialist” in the name of their party (Nazis) and in the name of their country (country). Neither was Socialist; both were dictatorships (and the Nazis were even further right than Sociaists even though people on the right in the U.S. accuse it of being a far-left system). Since then, people all over the world think Socialism means a dictatorship. That’s why so many right-wingers get freaked out when people on the left hold up Scandinavian and other European countries, in any way, as good examples of good governance. That’s why I always use the term “Democratic Socialism” to explain these country’s social system. Democratic Socialism is NOT pure Socialism either, and is a combination-style between Democracy (and Capitalism) and pure Socialism. In the U.S. I refer to our system as “toxic” or end-stage Capitalism”, because our corporations really run everything, including our government and politicians, and EVERYTHING has to be all about profits for the corporations, no matter who or how many people get hurt. In those more left-leaning countries in Europe, things are purposely run to actually help the people who do the actual work and pay taxes, and the people live very much happier lives in general. I highly recommend watching Michael Moore’s documentary “Where to Invade Next”. It’s an outstanding documentary about how various European countries run various aspects of their societies, including work, education, politics, legal institutions (like prisons) women’s rights and vacations. It’s a real eye-opener, and i even cried during it thinking how much better our lives here in the U.S. could be if we instituted many of those policies. But, the corporations (and the corporate-owned politicians) would never allow it because those things do not increase THEIR profits, but actually cost them money. We are nothing but slave labor to them, ironically much like a dictatorship. It’s called a Corporatocracy. What they don’t understand (or actually really don’t care about) is that healthier, better educated, happier people work better longer and produce more for the country and economy in the long-term, not to mention that the crime rates go down because happier well-paid people commit fewer crimes. But that doesn’t factor into authoritarianism. Sorry to go on a long rant, but I always feel the need to clear up the misconceptions about the word “Socialism” that are being spread to invoke fear in the populace.
@Pining_for_the_fjords

@@Pining_for_the_fjords I would also like to clarify that in the early portion of my comment, I was not implying that Socialism is a far right system. It is actually a very LEFT-leaning system, whereas Naziism, Communism, Dictatorships, as well as Corporatocracies (like ours) are far Right. All of those systems fall under the heading of Authoritarianism, as in “you will do exactly as we tell you, and nothing but what we tell you”.

The difference in North Korea (regarding domestic violence) is that it happens so often that no one cares, it's not even illegal. The husbands don't get punished for hitting their wives. In South Korea, (as well as many other countries) it's illegal and punishable by law. You also mentioned about people who struggle to make ends meet under a capitalist society. The beauty is that we have people who come out of poverty and become very successful. I doubt anyone would say that conditions in America are worse than North Korea. However, just because the US has better conditions than that of North Korea does not mean that there is no plight, and should not mean that people are unable to be critical of their own situation. It is always a good idea to remind yourself of your blessings and to get perspective from others situations, but often times change comes from criticism and activism. Where would the US be today if everyone just said well at least it's better than North Korea? The civil rights and women's rights movements were in the last 100 years. I understand that this is better than you experienced, but there is always room for growth if the system isn't working for the majority of it's people.

Completely agree. I'm Scottish and when I look at what goes on in America, a lot of how things work shocks me. In Scotland, we have free education (even undergraduate degree level) and free healthcare (something I think everyone should be entitled to). We all pay fair taxes (which are calculated based on earnings) and this pays for these kinds of things. It shocks me to hear that people in America often don't call an ambulance if they are seriously injured or dying because if they did they would be bankrupt. Of course, North Korea is worse than America but that doesn't mean America is good. I am so grateful not to be in either of these countries, to be honest. And as you say, there is always room for growth. Scotland is not perfect either.
@mnutt2588
@mnutt2588 2 года назад
@@CH-qh8tu Exactly, these are issues that many gloss over as if these are not factors in overall well-being. Many of the Americans who might say they want socialism are those who cannot afford healthcare, childcare or education. What they want is not necessarily socialism but social policies and programs. These concepts are regularly conflated with socialism because of political rhetoric in the US. US media and politicians often capitalize on the fear of communism and socialism to prevent progressive legislation from passing.

I am greatful for the freedom I have in my country. Mostly to my ancestors and people today who were like defectors. Fought and died for freedoms and justice that were denied to them for hundreds of years. From Native Americans, to indentured servants, slaves, and victims of hate crimes, it was their strength, tenacity, courage, and Voice that has shaped this country the way it is. Our government be it republican or democrat, rarely enact laws for the benefit of the people unless it’s protested for and pushed for by the people. That is why I will always encourage people to use their voice, peaceful protest, and influence to push for changes they want to see in this country. I believe there is a difference in being unaware of your freedom, and just wanting to make this place as equal for all as possible. It can become dangerous to not question or call out officials and policies on either side. And finally, we must always work on systems that benefits the countries citizens, so we are never in a position where we are just numbers to use and discarded as she explains in North Korea. It is important to note, this is an easily researchable fact, that the top countries to live in in the world (judged by poverty rates, average house income, quality of life, affordability, crime rate, etc) have a mixture of capitalist and socialist policies. They normally are capitalist with socialist policies on things such as education, healthcare, and other government programs. The idea the two cannot exist in harmony is proven to be false by so many countries. As well, there has been unfortunately horrible dictatorships in capitalist societies. At the end of the day, one can abuse any system (ism) for their own agenda. Capitalism and socialism are not exempt from being used to abuse citizens.

At the same time, flaws in capitalism do cause needless suffering like not having access to healthcare but that doesn't mean you reject the whole system. It just means the system needs to be improved, and we are fortunate enough to have the autonmy to address it. I just wish there was another word to separate what goes on in countries like the Netherlands, Noway and Iceland from what's happening in North Korea and Cuba and Venuzuela. There are words to describe these various differences, it's just that people are incredibly lazy in this particular topic, since honest discussion is often not the goal.
