The ant stuff is completely wrong so no one use that information in their assignments. In most ant species, once the Queen ant dies that's it. Unless the colony has multiple queens. Also what Jordan could have killed are super majors which are pretty much big worker ants

Oftentimes when ants have queens walking around, they’re either actually princesses/unfertilized queens that are waiting for mating season to fly up or they could be the kind of species where each colony can have multiple egg-laying queens. They do this precisely because it prevents killing one Queen from being enough to wipe them all out.

I hope these podcasts will never end. They are just the best thing to listen to when everything has been gone to shit

"Taste of older RU-vid" - I'll be honest, I think Hopcat nailed it. I don't play Smash much anymore, mostly because the one group I play it with has friction when we play because one person takes it too seriously and another is super casual and that clashes, but I keep coming back and watching whatever y'all put out. I think older RU-vid + casual style is what brings me back.

Some of my favorite RU-vid videos were Seananners from back in the day just playing cod and talking about stuff. You can focus on the gameplay and try to learn or just sit back and listen and chill. You guys offer some of the best chill and listen material. Also funny as hell

i do remember peter saying that female dolphins used other sea creatures as sex toys in the uncut underdogs video but no he did not say that dolphins are sluts for protection. also pretty sure jordan mentioned the monkeys and frogs thing but he ended it as soon as he started. jordan never brought up the dolphin thing as well.

I DEFINITELY remember hearing on a previous podcast that female dolphins mate with multiple male partners for protection *for their young*. I think you guys were talking about how sometimes animals cannibalize the young of others in their own species as both sustenance AND to help their own gene pool succeed, but if a female dolphin had multiple male partners the males wouldn’t want to risk killing it’s own young or something.

To be honest I will watch underdogs doubles videos for the rest of eternity and never get bored of them they just always find someway to make it hilarious and interesting

Photography at some point does almost become instinctual based on how you’ve personally internalized the principles such as rule of thirds, contrast, color theory, etc. You eventually get to the point where you can see scenes and shots out and about because you’ve taken enough photos consciously practicing all those techniques. Comparable to playing a sport and no longer having to put tons of mental energy into say dribbling since you’ve practiced it so many times it’s almost instinctual .

I think Jordan is onto something with the ecosystem-type enclosure. Proper Zoo enclosures, with exclusively one animal DOES affect the natural behaviors of the animals inside. It can also be seen as cruel which has been debated MANY times for SO long. While probably very impractical to realistically get done, pulling a full and balanced ecosystem people can observe seems a lot more safe for the animals involved. It's kinda interesting. Sucks that, like a lot of Jordan's ideas, the requirements to make it successful are too great to be worth the use of resources. Money, space, time, the needed equilibrium of populations, maintenance, KEEPING PEOPLE IN LINE AND FOLLOWING THE RULES.
