Hey. Great video. I am a new youtuber and also completing my masters of nursing program with a leadership focus. Great knowing others taking masters programs and having some differences in their programs such as our courses run for 13 weeks 😊
I am about to apply for my Masters in E-Health ( Health Informatics ) in Australia... It is basically Nurse Informatics. I like your videos as it is very informative.
Stumbled upon this video while doing research about master programs. I currently hold a BSN & work in the NICU but I’ve been highly considering getting a masters in education- to some day teach clinical or a skills labs
I will be doing my 2 year RN at my community college, then bsn and msn at Rutgers 💗 ... I was enrolled to become an LPN and had taken out my student loan and everything and I had to move out of state and wasn’t able to do the schooling which is a blessing in disguise bc I will be getting my RN right away now 😊 I’m excited !!!!
Can you do a video talking about papers you have to write in the masters program? Like how many, how often, do you enjoy writing/normally consider yourself an exceptional writer while you were an undergrad?
I’m in Dental Hygiene school right now. I initially wanted to do nursing but then decided to go for Dental Hygiene. I wanted to narrow my specialty in health care.
@@DabidRobinson I think orthodontics is really interesting but they don’t usually have dental hygienist work for them. I will start out in a general office and then go from there.
I am dreading classes three and four. Do you have any idea of the time you spent doing the reading, assignments, and responses for those classes? I have completed the first class and I felt like I spent 12-16 hours just for the first class. It wasn't difficult content but to ensure I put in thoughtful and complete content, I felt I put in a lot of time. It sounds like from your other videos you spent a lot in those classes. Thank you for your time
I did make videos on those two classes, the work is about the same. However much time you spend in the first two is about how much you will spend in those. All I can say is, maybe you are doing too much. I feel like you can get an idea of what the instructor wants, and without doing the most you can still get 100%. Thanks for commenting!
Forgot to reply to that call of action 😉 I have a terminal degree obviously haha but I’d love to go back and do more philosophy, psychology and I really want to do culinary school haha
@@DabidRobinson yeah!! I loved pod and cooking! Wouldn’t it be so cool to just learn how to cook awesome stuff all day and taste it haha, can’t think of a better school. Engineering!?..now that’s just crazy haha it usually goes the other way! I’ve met plenty of doctors who were engineers in another life. Another one I’ve seen is doctors going to lawyer 🤔 they probably get sick of getting sued and start doing the suing
@@DabidRobinson i will im going to need it. And i also would like info on your master school as well. Thats my last future schooling is to get my masters.
Thanks for the info. I'm trying to decide what kind of Masters degree I want to take . It was interesting to know that they are no quizzes or exams for some of this degrees paths.
I feel bad for the once who have /had this .. Seeing myself without hives or hsv2 now I’m really grateful and excited thank you Dr Oseghale Sunday Herbal Home …
Hi I hope you read this I highly recommend need your help . I am applying in GCU for my master I am unsure which one to take if leadership or any other .. and also I would like to get some names of professors that you can recommend . I did my BSN with them and I had a professor for the BSN that was a mess . Thank you ! Please help !
I'd rather take tests than write papers! I'm considering MSN Ed, not at Grand Canyon, rather, a less expensive, in-state school, also online - UNCW. I do ultimately want to teach online, so yeah, I guess I need to get back into that writing mode. Ugh.
Little D, Thanks for all of your videos! I’m currently an Acute Care nurse educator at my hospital. Really want to start my MSN studies but torn between NI, education and leadership! My concern w NI is trying to find a job w “no informatics experience.” I hope to start in the Spring. Do you like GCU? I’ve narrowed it down to GCU or Walden (I think).
That’s a pretty good position! Well... that is hard to say because there are only so many nursing informatics positions... I’m sure it is competitive. The beginning classes of the MSN are all similar so you have time to choose if you want to go down a different route. I went to GCU for my BSN and now my MSN. It’s been pretty straight forward and not too hard.
Great to hear your experience! I have BS and MS in mechanical engineering. Gradually over the time, I start thinking the master in nursing MSN. But it requires to take prerequisites, such as biology and Lab, microbiology and Lab, Hunan Anatomy, Human physiology, besides the Chemistry and Statistics that I took already in BS and MS degrees. Estimate min 2 years to complete the prerequisites, then to take MSN grade courses in min 2 years. Is it correct? What will be the procedure to apply the Master Nursing Program? Should complete the four prerequisites first, then to apply the MSN next? Is it hard to get accepted in CSU? Thank you!
OMG my patho instructor in my BSN program. switched from mechanical engineering to RN then NP, trust me her lectures were overly detailed. Anyway-I’m sure she has her PhD by now.
It would be helpful if you can answer my questions because I had done lot of research but still unable to find appropriate answers:- 1) Does any course named as "Masters in Science and Nursing Leadership and Management" is available in this university of Melbourne? If not, so by pursing which course, I can able to be Nurse Manager in future? 2) Does course "Master in Advance Nursing" lead me to direct certification from Nuclex ? I mean Upon completion of this course is there any need to give Nuclex exam or I'm directly certified ? 3) Does "Clinical Experience" is necessary requirement for the application of this course? If yes, so 1 year experience is enough? And does internship counts?
Hello Nurse David I am going into my 2nd year of nursing and I am really interested in CRNA nurse (certified registered nurse anaesthetist). Any tips or ideas on how I can get there?
You can choose the way you want to do the homework in the class, so you could prioritize like that. Or working at the bedside, we are able to make our own schedules so that helps as well. Thanks for reaching out 🥰
I done my bachelor in nursing now I am looking for master , which credit is best acute care, safety and quality, chronic care and leadership management
I guess it really depends on where you see yourself in the end. Do you want to do acute care at the bedside? Or do you want to be in more of a manager position away from patients.
Hi David, I am thinking about attending GCU, for MSN in leadership. I am trying to see how how long weee the papers and are they every week and do you have power poi ts also ?
Hi! I currently have a bachelors degree in an unrelated field, but will be applying for nursing school at the end of this semester. I have the opportunity to get into the concurrent enrollment program at Phoenix college. I’d be getting my associates degree while also working on my MSN at GCU. What is your opinion on jumping to a master’s without any nursing experience? Would it make more sense to get a bachelors in nursing? Thanks and love your channel!
@@DabidRobinson I just want to know the name of master of nursing course names …in America which subject are student studied in MSN because I m confuse in course which course are there in masters…like in India there is 4 master of nursing subject like medical surgical nursing, paediatric nursing, gynaecology nursing and psychiatric nursing
I was going to go to GCU for MSN health informatics program but my hospital is paying 100% for the MS in health informatics at Purdue Global. My question for you is, should I go for my MSN? I really want to Learn Database design and SQL and the MSN informatics doesn’t have this…what are your thoughts? Thank you in advance!
hey hey i'm faisal from saudi arabia, as you say i’m looking to start a master degree in nursing, I’m now 4 years nursing student but i start search now so i can prepare my self to the trip to master degree
I have a bachelors and am thinking of a ABSN with Roseman Univ. I wouldn’t mind ADN as a quicker route and cheaper. Can you recommend any online nursing program with clinicals at a later time
Yay so glad I found your page, I need help! I’m currently in the BSN Program @gcu. I’m thinking of doing the NP program at GCU. Do you know if they require in campus requirements. I live in California and that would be though to have to do that. Thanks
To be honest, i am not 100% sure. I am in my MSN at GCU for informatics, and it has not required me to attend anything in person. I know at the end of your NP at GCU, that you need to coordinate a doctor in which you will be completing clinical hours.
Thanks for info. I have a question and hope you can please help me out. I am a registered nurse with aged care experience. I'm interested in the chronic diseases and aging in the master of nursing. Is it possible to work as a clinical nurse or nurse consultant after MSN? Thanks alot
I applied to GCU after being out of school for over 25 years. I applied for the MSN in Education but I have a low gpa. Do you think they will consider me?
Hi man good stuff on almost having your MSN in informatics but you said outside of NP and CRNA there aren't really exams for the other master programs?
Hey congrats! The classes merged seamlessly. I never had any problems with my professors. Every time I started a new class in my program I feel like I had a sense of what to expect.
Hi just subscribed. I have two diploma's in my home country. Diploma in General Nursing and Diploma in Emergency Medicine. Do you think I will be eligible to apply for master of science in nursing?? Just curious. By the way Master of Nursing Informatics is a new term I just learned from you, Would read up to know more. Appreciate your video.😊👍
Thank you for th wonderful video. I am currently pursuing my bachelors of science in nursing and I am planning for my masters but stuck with what masters degree to opt for? I love intensive and emergency trauma
I have a BSN and am looking into a couple MSN in leadership programs. Trying to decide actually between two, one being GCU. I actually am currently a Clinical Informaticist. Why'd you choose GCU vs any others you were looking into?
Well my work is partnered with GCU so this is where I got my BSN through. It was straight forward and the staff is very helpful and on top of things. So now I’m going to GCU for my MSN!
@@DabidRobinson Got it! Just chatted with an enrollment counselor I met on site at my work. Sounds pretty straightforward for an MSN with an emphasis in leadership. Great job with the channel and especially highlighting Clinical Informatics. I’ve been a specialist/analyst for six years and I love it!
Hi im a student from other country. Can you help me coz i have a question regarding my master degree for nursing if i took two years , do i have to take exams after?
It will take a while to get a position but just keep applying. I finally accepted a job after 10 months of applying and interviewing because I had no experience
Hi ! Thank you for this awesome video .I am a BSN ! Thinking about to go to Master if Nursing Educator in Grand Canyon ? Is it credited enough university ? B
Currently finishing my engineering undergrad degree. You think I can apply for Direct Entry MSN after taking up required supplementary courses? I really wanna be in a medical field.
The route of MSN that I am used to requires a nursing background, but you should definitely look into it, if medical is something you are interested in.
I am considering studying Psychiatry as a Master's degree. My background is oncology nursing but after almost 10 yrs including 3 yrs as a breast cancer nurse specialist I feel like I am ready to change or at least supporting my knowledge and experience with different specialty.. Any thoughts??
Psych NP is great. The only and major problem with the programs is that you have to find your own preceptors. It's a nightmare! I had to drop out because of it. Choose a school that guarantees clinicals, they are super expensive though.
I don’t know the answer, you should meet with your school advisor and also tell them what part of the states you plan to come too, because that could make a difference
How is everyone day going so today I I thought I share a little story with you guys so so and my dog is in the front yard I think our own business when this teenager comes up start making fun of my dog I told him to leave my dog alone but he would not listen he try to kick my dog and my dog bit his leg the boy ask me if I was going to anything about my dog and I said yeah and gave him a treat good dog 🐶 lol
Hi bro I have small doubt regarding msn in usa, what are the documents required for it ... What is the percentage of opportunities for male nurses.... After completing Bsc nursing in India what are entrances needed
@@DabidRobinson wow really?! just confused about which one should I study?bachelor or master, but I am in Australia atm, not sure if the education system is the same?if it is must go msn
Hi, I'm new to your channel. I'm interested in getting my Master's but I'm not sure what would an MSN in Nursing Informatics would lead me to job-wise. Will you be able to elaborate on that?
