How nice to finally find an Armenian RU-vidr showing us around Yerevan! I was there in Sept. 2021 and I wish I was back there already! All the best from Finland! *Subscribed* :)
@@PatilToutounjian Me too! I can smell the produce from your video ❤️🇦🇲 Thanks for making these videos! You've also inspired me to start making my own videos too, just need to get through the editing haha.
This supermarket used to be a farmers market back in 90s/early 2000s, maybe even earlier, we used to call it ‘covered market’ for some reason. I still remember home made cheese from there. Back then your 5000 would get you half of the market. My daily was 50 drams as a student.
Back in 1999 , when I entered Brusov and moved to Yerevan from Gyumri, my budget was 15000 drams per month. I just had a deal with my dad that he would support me with that money till i get a job. I stayed in Zeytoon dorms and most of us would walk down through kaskad to Opera not to pay 30 drams to the trolley or bus. Interestingly, it was doable and the USD was exacty 500 drams. I managed to spend even less. That was mainly the cost for food and transport. No mobile phones back then.
I think Patil has not compared daily expenditures of a medium size family in Yerevan and for example Paris, which is always the same for the food (a similar basket) and mainstream clothes.

Hokis your entire life is a gym. No elevator yegher 🤨 everything is making more sense to me with these insanely long wall sits. Yup, you guessed it, I will never stop being in awe of the god damn wall sits. also, it was so nice hearing the general public speaking in Armenian 🥰 and definitely drink from the water fountain with my eyes open... Need to make sure the water doesn't miss my mouth.
Hahhahahahahahhaha thank you 😂😂 omg you always make my day!! Yes hearing the public speak is one of my favourite activities 🙈 I’m also realizing that yes actually eyes open is making more and more sense! Anyway I type this as I head to my boxing training 🥊❤️
Nice informative video! :-) Could you next time do your shopping (based on your same shopping list if possible) at a true local Armenian grocery intead of a branded supermarket? Try to pay a visit at a local bazaar also and see how the shopping would work when buying food products there. Thank you :-) Keep up your good work. Abris! :-)
Far safer than many major US cities. The worst that can happen to you is to get overcharged by cab drivers who know you are tourist! So don’t worry about safety if you are thinking about a visit.
There’s isn’t but there are many amazing coffee shops 🥰 check out this video for some recommendations ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XiGL85WjwLo.html
olive oil is expensive as fuck almost 6 euros. wtf! there was nothing cheap in this supermarket all prices was like other expensive european countries. Germany has way much cheaper prices in supermarkets. and alpoy soya for more than 3 euros! you pay way much less for that in sweden or germany.
Lady, you're courting disaster here. Yeah, tourism dollars help the economy but in case you didn't notice yet, a lot of UNDESIRABLES are migrating around these days, looking to TAKE, TAKE, TAKE what you have.
Another city gentrifying leaving more pp desperate & homeless loss of home loss of community really bad here in the larger Boston area total lack of belonging
Since I am lazy, I usually order from online supermarkets (in the supermarket.am, delivery is free, also Carrefour (through buy.am), shopon and several others), there is also a quite good (with much lower prices compared to SAS) supermarket Nor Zovk. But for the best prices you need to go to shops and markets on the outskirts of Yerevan, in the center it is a little expensive. Although, I'm asume, comparing with Toronto, here even in SAS in the Kentron prices are very cheap)
