Excellent mate, i was thinking “I can’t imagine how many hours went into this”… and then you said how many… now i’m wondering “how on earth did you build this in only 40 hours?” Great work, and thanks for putting the effort in to give us a leg up with these new blocks!
Have watched and rewatched this video a few times lately just to make sure I'm doing the best I can with my builds. Appreciate the effort to make it succinct and insightful.
Love to see you leaning on your strengths! Gorgeous base, love the details and over creative design... for a square, Lol. Also, great to see Ol' Razzle Dazzle join the ranks of Co-producers (I felt awkward being the only one out front like that, hahaa)
Well, there's my A21 block reference video - thanks Eko! Also - I love the doorway at 14:14 - you could just just done a door in a wall, but noooooooooo - you had to make an awesome doorway - such a cool build mate!!🤩
If you told me before i started playing this game that I'd watch a guy on RU-vid talk about block shapes, i would've said you're crazy 🤣 But here i am listening intently! Blood Moon Keep looks beautiful btw!
What a gorgeous build! I am not that creative when it comes to aesthetics, but I'm excited to find all the new ways to break zombie pathing for horde bases!
I love the building side of the game, but i’m also not that creative at building myself either, would be cool if there were some tutorial videos for 7 days like there are for minecraft! I love building stuff that other people design.
@@AndyH03 As an FYI - this week I just dropped a block by block tutorial on an early game base that will give a lot of good building concepts - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-mvx9sxO_FZQ.html
didn't saw it mentioned here, but i read/saw in a video you can put the dew collector anywhere you want, even on bedrock as long as there are 5 blocks space above it. After that there can be whatever above it and it still works.
I just did some testing with this as well -- looks like that is accurate ... also looks like they changed is so on the the middle block needs to be open in general. Might do a follow up video on this.
For dew collector, Air Duct works. Though, for some reason it seems the default open space above dew collector (6 blocks of open space) required for it to operate was different on the server I joined, which has server-unique variations called Misfit Dew Collector, which requires 7 open space above Misfit Dew Collector. Though, when placing them, some of the variants take up 1x4 space and others take up 1x1 space when placing those unique dew collector variants, which is nice for having a tight configuration of dew collectors (ie my preferred variant used less space).
Man, thats a lot of work invested. Gorgeous is surely the word I am looking for here. I have a question about blocks in A21: I do believe I bumped into some "ropes you can climb" in the A21 randomized maps, but I can't find anything like it in craft menues. They do actually exist, don't they?
Thanks so much!! For rope, enable the creative menu (F1, type in CM) then click U to bring up the menu ... search for rope. It's under 'Rope, Climbable'
Wow, absolutely stunning base build! I wish I had just a smidge of your creativity, my bases are just huge concrete blocks and an eyesore lol, but I am going to try out a few different pillar designs and windows now I have seen this, so thanks for the ideas! 👍🏻
Awesome video and showcase. I was looking for those small stained glass windows and I can only find the top, but not the clean bottom one. Where's that? The castle looks sick!
Eko, how did you get the soil in the castle flush to stone/building blocks in there? Whenever I dig into the ground and lay a foundation or something the ground around it aways has that peeling away look because the dirt blocks are diamonds instead of cubes and only smooth out like a cub when all the adjacent blocks are also some kind of soil.
I used several tricks. I'm going to add this to my queue for a video to explain. In this case it was a combination of angled plates overlapping as well as using the new terrain tool.
They changed it from one of the early patches. This video covers the changes I discovered a few patches later ... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-eA7kSmhe0DU.html
10:00 I like the animation for the vault doors. I'd love to see them improve the rest of the animations in the game & add animations for things like swimming & powered garage doors 10:32
Great work on condensing for us the new shapes and giving us a preview~ And that base is superb! Your base builds have inspired me in alot and I've taken to building pretty elaborate bases in my saves recently. I did a base that was similar in style to your Frosthaven build and it was one of the most fun and satisfying bases that I had built in a long time~
@@WaywardEko Haha would have loved to. But unfortunately, I no longer have the save of that game. My base was done quite awhile ago in A20 and I've since restarted a couple of times.
Mmmm trim blocks and windooooows. Was really hoping for some pretty doors for bases. Ah well. New things to play with are always wanted! Always love your builds, super impressive! =) Def gonna make some nice pools, when I do my base on the builder server.
I used a sneaky block called an air duct. Here's a whole video on blocks that allow light through. It's an A20 vid, but everything here remained the same - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WaowUodoJ3k.html
This is Quality content with capital Q here. Well done! Would you happen to remember what music you used during the Bloodmoon Keep segment? I tried looking at the places you listed below the video but couldn't find it.
Thanks! The Track is Wolf Moon Type: Music BPM: 113 Duration: 05:27 Artists: Atlantis Music & Sound Artist Full Names: Arthur Navarro Publisher: Atlantis Music & Sound Pro: Atlantis Music & Sound Publisher PRO: Atlantis Music & Sound www.storyblocks.com/audio/stock/wolf-moon-346773497.html
Excelent video! i'm designing my horde base choosing the block thanks to your knowledge! One question, though: if I'm using the balluster rail for protecting the electric fence posts, the explosions of a demolisher will affect the electric fence post? I mean, the difference in the shape of the block can affect also the "protection" or the blockage of the damage done by a zombie? Also, if a police zombie vomits, the vomit passes throught the balluster rail, or impacts the block? Many thanks!
Baluster rail has the characteristic that allows for projectiles to pass through so it will not protect from cop spit. One question ... what do you mean by protecting fence posts ... just in case you didn't know, the line from them can pass through solid blocks. I recommend creating access out of line of sight if possible. For the demo, I'm not entirely sure .... there are 5 collision types for blocks ... movement, melee, bullet, arrow, rocket The question is if explosion counts as rocket.
Hey Folks! Just wanted to let you know that both Bloodmoon Keep and the Alpha 21 block POI are both available for download via my Patreon ( www.patreon.com/waywardeko ) ! Let me know if you have any questions!
I've having a hard time keeping up w/ changes given experimental. My plan is to get this available on a website for people to have a reference. It'll take me a month or so to get it up - which should align w/ stable dropping.
If you are using a pokey weapon like the spear ... yes. It won't go through the material as it as the collision factor with melee, but you can reach through. Overhead/swinging weapons don't work well.
@WaywardEko Thank you sooo much for this amazing video everything is just mind blowing. My twinny and i are new ish to the game and have made a few horde bases but nothing on this level.... Can we like collect you? Add you? and drag you into the game to teach us the WAY??!!!
Come hang out in my Twitch streams :) I will occasionally do design streams where I go through the ideation process of how I build bases. Just did this for the next base I'll have in my Abyss series!
So shapes have different collision qualities. Spear falls under melee, so is unrelated to shooting through. That said -- the baluster rails have openings that you can easily poke through!
I think the best way is to pick one or two new blocks for a build and see how you can work around them ... each time you build a new base, bit a few more.
They have different mass as well as different horizontal support. Mass || Wood - 5, Stone/Concrete - 10, Steel - 20 Horizontal Support || Wood - 40, Stone/Concrete - 120, Steel - 300
As of the current stable build, all of the blocks in the follow video still allow for underground farms: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WaowUodoJ3k.html I have not checked the most recent experimental yet.
@@WaywardEko Well this is really weird. The first shape I tried was bars, then the 1m hole, then glass, none of them worked. The only thing that worked was having an empty block in the roof and it ONLY worked for the block directly underneath it. Today both the bars and 1m hole block work and I can plant in plots not directly underneath the hole. Only thing I'm not sure of is if it was daytime when I was doing it, maybe it doesn't work at night??
Ugh, I figured out what the problem is, I was trying to plant corn and it's model must be too high for the space I have it in which is only 2 blocks high. All the other seeds planted fine.
People keep talking about balusterrail01, and I see it in the XML but can't find the thing in the shape menu. I was hoping (in vain) that one of you building masters would, perhaps by accident, show me where to find it. Alas.
1) Go to shape menu 2) Unclick any categories on the left navigation bar (ie nothing should be beige/tan ... they should all be white - including the favorite star. 3) type 'bal' in the search bar 4) Enjoy!
came here for the first time (subscriber wothy by the way, you are incredibly skilled) and did you and GNS talk to eachother and one is like "hey let me copy your homework i'll change it up" because your outros are like exactly the same
Hahah ... Tem and I have a long relationship of stealing ideas from each other. His old one I believe was an evolution of mine ... and then when he did the 4 video setup, I stole his upgrade!
Might wanna start creative mode next... it's hard for me create something esthetic and using my architecture skill when constantly getting hit by zombie.. My base always end up square metal
@@WaywardEko Thanks for the info, nice to know it. But i stick with default mode, I'd like to train my brain to think under pressure. Might help me in real live one day
Two options depending on how steep you want it. My guess is that you went with ramp blocks which are a 45 degree angle - Use Wedge60 & Wedge60 Tip to create a 26 degree angle - Search Narrow in the shape menu to find the narrow incline blocks which will raise 1 block over a distance of 4 to give you a 14 degree angle.
Hey thanks for taking the time to reply 🙂 - I did go with ramps very poor choice then I did find the wedge 60 and tip blocks and made it again alot better. It's very long, bottom being around 10 blocks from the bedrock. Thanks for your time - can't wait for your next video 😁
Hey Nick - I just updated the description. Here's the info - my patreon also has most of my major horde base builds as downloads. DOWNLOAD Bloodmoon Keep & Shape POI via my Patreon: www.patreon.com/waywardeko
