I can answer to the PID. KPc is the constant that multiply the setting temp minus the actual temp. Proportional term, the higher you get the more reactive will be the machine to maintain and reach the temperature. Total resulting power to the boiler = Power 1 + 2 + 3 Power1 = (SetupT - ActualT) x KPc KIc is the integral term meaning it sum the error over time. It is usefull for finely adjust temp over time. Power2 = integral over time (SetupT - ActualT) x KIc For ex if your temp error (SetupT° - ActualT°) is few deg, the actual power1 could not be enough, so every second that error is there it will be multiplied by KIc and added to power1. We call that eliminating the traling error. KDc is the derivative term. It check the variation of the error Power 3 = (SetupT - ActualT) x KDc This parameter enter in the game when there is strong variation detected, either by changing your setting T° or because the boiler refill and an error build up fast. Do not get to high on this parameter as with inertia the T° will be unstable or at least having overshoot on the T°
Hi, thank you for the video! I have just discovered your channel. 😊 Do you know if the amount of water that is coming out from the dispenser can be somehow programmed? Thanks
Thank you for all your videos, Stefanus, and for the time you take in making them. I have recently bought an Elizabeth for my first espresso machine. I will pair it within a month with a Niche Zero that is back ordered. I ma still struggling with steam preinfusion or just a bloom phase and how many seconds, brewing and steam temperatures... What would be your settings and preferences in this regard? I saw that you set your boiler temp to 145º, but I've read that this his pressure can a be a bit too much. And last but not least, I looked into the Mara X before going for the Elizabeth... But to be honest, every tie I see one of your Mara X videos I think I might have made the wrong choice. Since I am still in the trial period where I can exchange the machine (distributor offered to do this) I. ma still full of doubts since the Marx looks are unbelievable compared to the bruised aluminum of the Elizabeth. For some one who makes one flat white and one espresso a day but is no handyman in terms of lubing the lever, etc. One's gotta love pulling that lever and that chrome body on the Mara X. Do you think I made the right choice for a total newbie or should I switch to the Mara X? Would I sacrifice much more maintenance and less precision in exchange for looks and the LCC? Thanks again.
Hi just follow your heart. In the beginning i think you have made your choice based on the pros and cons (logically), however with you asking this question again i think it is more of a personal aesthetic, feelings and intuitive instead of logic. At the end of the day they are both great machines no regret
I am new to a dual boiler, so am confused about preinfusion. I'm thinking this adds a spurt of steam/water to wet the puck before the espresso streams out, supposedly helping flavors? I heard it is subjective on if it really helps flavor. I was told this is more effective for light roasts. I only use medium and some medium-dark roasts.
Hi to be honest there is no definite answer to your question. I think this is still evolving as why and how it should be implemented and what result to expect. % Arabica for example giant coffee chain from Japan is using relatively dark bean with their slayer machine that gives around 10 seconds pre infusion. Every bean react differently and require different treatment in extraction process. None the less having machine with such capability for sure gives you more room for experiment.
The main reason for pre infusion is to avoid channelling. If the coffee isn't perfectly distributed or tamped then the sudden shock of 9 bar can cause cracks in the coffee puck and water takes the patch of least resistance ending in poorly extracted shots. The flavour is perhaps more noticeable in a lighter roast but I would say pre infusion helps with all roast types as it ensures a more even extraction. If you have ever used a naked portafilter and noticed the coffee not coming out evenly thus could be due to an uneven tamp or poor distribution or a sign of channelling. Pre infusion is just another thing that can help stop a poor extraction.
Hi, Stefanus I own the Elisabet and I'm very happy. I like your advice as I heard Elisabet has a cleaning program if so what Bottom do I have to press/ The flash program I know but how many times I have to do it? Once a week? I use the machine 4 times a day.thank you
Hello Stefanus, I just try on my Lelit the back flush mode with pushing first and third button but it was not working like yours I mean 10 flush in a row. Do you know where can be the problem?
Just found this video. Any new updates on setting I should change? Elizabeth is coming in tomorrow so gonna try to set her up before the grinder gets here.
I own a Lelit PL91 Vitoria. To be honest, I dont like it that much. I was thinking to upgrade to a double boiler and in terms of space Lelit is a great option but Im afraid of making the same mistake. I was thinking of the Rancilio Silvia Pro.
Hi Gaston, why not i totally suggest you to go down and try them if possible to really get the feeling. Rancilio Silvia Pro is not bad at all, i just find it a bit pricy you might as well add a little bit more to buy Lelit Bianca
I would stay away from rancilio double boiler, lelit Elizabeth v3 i think runs circles around it, I think lelit pl92t v3 is thr best bank for that buck at thwt category level hands down, at lesst i returned my rancilio & got backordered lelit Elizabeth 4 months wait i just got itb2 weeks ago & damn love thwt thing
@@ping_me1vp I agree, from what I have read and seen the LCC really makes a huge difference as you have a dual boiler and lots of programmability for pre-infusion and shots. I have heard that the steam based pre infusion really is a game changer, especially for lighter roasts.
Nice video. Is that the Lelit bottomless poratfilter with wooden handle? How did you treat it to get it looking like this? Do you have a part number for the silent pump?
Great Video, but the music is a little bit to loud when english is not your first language, you get in trouble when you translate every word. Greetings from Germany
Hi, does the lelit have some feature of auto-sleep when in idle? How about pre programming it to wake up and heat up the boiler in like when you go have a coffee in the morning? thanks
Yes it will go to sleep when idle. You can always buy a $10 smart plug and even better you able to control timer from your handphone. So basically through smart plug app in your phone, you can schedule when you want it to turn on and off within 7 days. Or you can simply on and off it from where ever you are. Finally gotta be honest, Elizabeth heats up pretty fast about 15 minutes, much faster than Pro Line machines: MaraX an Bianca
Search on google ... in Singapore have Boncafe, highlander and cowpresso. You can also buy our coffee bean, please visit www.ace-homebarista.com our website
I just had a look at the descaling video from Lelit in which they insist it should be done once a year by a technician, therefore, I like to ask if the Technician you use in Bali is able to follow the procedure in the video as it is not that easy.
@@StefanusGoana Thanks Stefanus Should I use Cleo water to reduce scaling as it has no minerals or should I use water that has minerals TDS 90-105mg/I and 20ppm calcium that apparently tastes better and is used at Tanamera roastery, Kempinski Hotel in Bali, some beach clubs such as finns club La brisa,la favella etc use?
if possible, take elizabeth and bianca, what choice would you make? taking into account the preparation of 2 hours of coffee a day (1 cappuccino 1 espresso)?
If you just want to make coffee then rush to work then Elizabeth for sure. If you like to spend hours dialing in and experimenting different brewing, pressure, grind setting, etc Elizabeth will able to do it but not as pleasant as Bianca
@@АртемКостиков-х2ы to be honest i haven't put them side by side, one day hopefully i can make video about that. I'm not sure what kind of level you are, if you the kind of James Hoffman then mostlikely you can taste the different. I have heard few about Rotary pump that widely used in commercial machines it is produce better coffee than vibration pump
There is a hole in the top of the water tank for fitting water filters. Please tell, what size is this hole? Thanks for the vid as it’s concise, relevant and very informative.
Sure, it’s about reducing scale build up and the capacity of different water filters that might be fitted. My Elizabeth may not arrive for a month or so and I wondered about filter sizes. The standard one apparently is good for 25 litres of water but there’s a bigger one which is good for 150 litres, reportedly. The bigger one seems to be better value for money but is 40 mm in diameter and I wondered if it would fit. Again Stefanus, thanks to your help as it looks like it will fit. This larger filter that I’m interested in is made by ‘Bilt’ and is model, Nical 900 (available on ebay and bluestarcoffee. Here’s the manufacturer’s link to their ‘blue’ models though not the ‘900’ model: en.biltsrl.com/portfolio/nical-blu/
@@StefanusGoana I use a measuring cup to pour water into a funnel that I put into the reservoir hole. I wish I could find a container with a longer hose to add water. I hate this water tank--too easy to splash water into the elements without using some kind of funnel.
@@StefanusGoana good question. The look is important. The durability, and the built quality also. It's not a problem for me the maintenance of e61 group head. I like to understand and put my hands inside ;). But for the prise I want make the best choice. I ordered the mara but she is on back order yet. So I look for valid my choice :).
Hahaha I’m in the same boat. I plan to order a Mara X and love the look of the machine over the Elizabeth. However deep down I feel the Elizabeth is the better machine for its control and functionality. If I get the Mara X I plan to put a group head thermometer on it immediately. I also just make on average one-two drinks per day and very rarely pull two shots back to back. So I am thinking a dual boiler may not be necessary for my requirements. I also don’t mind tinkering a little with a heat exchanger machine such as doing a cooling flush before pulling a shot. So I am leaning towards the Mara X.
On lelit website they actually have elizabeth on their low end models. The MaraX is actually on their higher end list using better quality parts and components, hence the price difference even tho the elizabeth offers more.
@@StefanusGoana Should I be nervous. From when I turned the machine on, the bar under the temperature completed and then it blinks at the 201°--once it stopped blinking that is how I know (or think I know) that it is ready. That was 9 to 9 1/2 minutes. Normal?? Thanks.
@@lindajardee Yes absolutely fine, however if you set LCC to show real temperature reading you will realise that you need another few more minutes to coll it down so do not brew coffee straight away
Mesin ini dibuat dgn dmtujuan diawal untuk perumahan, namun seperti Lelit Bianca sudah dipake beberapa cafe 1 tahun pertama berjalan tanpa ada masalah sama sekali
