Since adopting our Staffy we have realised that we will probably never have any other breed but them. They are truly the best dog ever. Unfortunately England and here in Ireland there are too many Staffies in dog pounds so if they do become famous in America my hopes are people will demand to adopt them from abroad and give them amaizing forever homes. ❤
@@evitas9443 you're absolutely right. My family have owned 7 Staffs,,, the first one that my Grandad had and the last 3 that I have had have all been rescue dogs.
You probably won't see this, but this video is what convinced my family to get our Staffy. We've already had her for about 5 weeks now, and she's the best dog we've ever had. So thanks!
The only problem here in Australia, at least in Melbourne, is that it's hard to get a good one. I lived on the outskirts of Staffordshire in the UK as a child and the pure ones over there look different to a lot of the ones I see here. Bigger heads and more stocky in build. They're amazing dogs, strong, intelligent and super loyal. They absolutely love people and generally get along well with other dogs.
I just lost my best friend last week. A Staff, he was 14, I rescued him 10 years ago, he was by my side 24/7, ultra loyal, caring, intelligent, great with everyone kids included and honestly the best dog I've ever met. RIP.
My English Staffy past away yesterday. Most clever, loyal, funny, emotional dog i've ever seen. 14 wonderful years. I'm crying every other hour at the moment. Staffies are dogs that have a really high physical pain tolerance, but they go in absolute shock when family members get in a fight/argument. Very social and emotional breed, Perfect for families!
Can certainly empathize. Got teary eyed reading your post. Chico (RIP), an Am Staff, was best dog in the world and was devastated when he died. But before his departure, I found another AmStaff abandoned and wondering around a local hospital.
It makes me so happy to see more and more acknowledgement of how amazing Staffies are! They're so gentle, kind and cheeky. Unfortunately, their physicality causes arseholes to buy them as status dogs and therefore mistreat them, leading to the bad reputation. There are no bad dogs, only bad owners and any Staffy with a loving home will be a wonderful pet.
I 100 percent agree with this they are portrayed as aggressive and have a reputation of being dangerous but they are soo gentle and my staffie is the most gentle bundle of fluff ever
Too true although I think people in the last 10 years or so are more aware that Staffies are not the problem but their twatish owners. Best breed around.
Jordan Mathew got to be kidding me?! Government is getting way to big there, trying to control people’s speech as well. Move to U.S haha they’ll be a war before government gets too out of hand here.
Mate, thank you for showcasing the Staffordshire Bull Terrier. Yes, us Britts love them. The English Staffy is a loyal loving dog that just likes a cuddle and gives doggie kisses. I am so glad that someone across the pond pointed out the differences between the English Staffy and the American Staffy, and boy is there a difference.
My staffie also doesnt really bark... but he is noisy... he chatters all the time, he likes to let me know whats up. They are pretty common in Europe. They look so tough... but they are huge softies
Staffies are the dog to own! Here in England they are aren’t rare, every other person has one and they are the only dog I will own! Shadow is beautiful & my staffie Kraft says hi all the way from England ❤️
Hi, I’m from UK I have 2 rescue staffies and 1 that’s past away, nearly 17 yrs now had staffies and I wouldn’t be without one , they are brilliant and very loyal
Thankyou for showing people how absolutely amazing English Staffies are! I love my girl she is awesome! She is SO unbelievably clever, a wimp also but extremely loving and loyal. She takes good care of my daughter with complex needs. I feel so blessed to have her 💓
wow mine too! tomorrow! aww staffies are the best!! I really wish all of your staffies a long and healthy life! I'm really struggling with the fact that I will lose her one day soon as I've had her since I was 9 but i'm just really trying to get her the happiest life. Staffies are very greedy in terms of FOOD and also very attention seeking in the cutest way possible.. They LOVE food so much! It's so cute! Give them all the attention in the world! Give them treats too! A happy staffie is a healthy staffie.! As long as you're with them they're happy!
I’ve had Staffies for over 25 years, lovely dogs. TOP TIP: You have a young brindle staffie. Once he gets past 3 years old, try and get in the habit of slipping a Cod Liver Oil capsule into his food every 4 or 5 days. Brindles can get dry patchy coats as they get older, and form little bald patches by their elbows and tail. If you get them onto Cod Liver Oil whilst they are young, it dramatically improves their coats as they age!
Matt Cameron ; I wish I knew that 12 or 13 yrs ago . My Boy Boy is a 14 yr old brindle and is starting to get this stuff now . Not too bad yet , but his elbows are worse than mine . I don't have the tail but .
I'm from Britain and these beautiful dogs are so common that our rescue centres and dog homes are full of them. I've never owned one but my friend has the most beautiful blue staffy girl. They are wonderful companions.
Same in BRISBANE .ive had one, such great dogs, incredibly smart and strong. Surprised the US haven’t caught on. Hard to believe he is scared of those things, mine ate the chain guard off my motorcycle, she would launch herself out of the car window when arriving at the beach and run straight into the water, but yet I could walk her to the shops and she would literally sit out the front of the shop and never move until I finished inside and walked back out to her.
As a Australia Staffy owner yes they are a very popular dog, they are honest, a friendly dog who looks like they are always smiling, they love people and kids and tag of war but they are excellent diggers.
lost my beautiful staffy chunky in july i miss so much RIP my boy now in peace & no more pain love forever will met again a cross the rainbow bridge...
Mark Calder hey welcome to the channel, man I thought about the day Shadow passes. Powerful words, I hope when we die we cross paths with not only the souls of humans but our pets as well.
So glad to hear that! It’s never easy to lose that special buddy. Had a cat whom I loved but had to take her on that long last ride, due to a liver tumor. But a friend in the UK has filled my head full of staffy stuff and I believe my next buddy Will definitely be a staffy. The rainbow bridge awaits and so does my Squeaky and your little guy! Thanks for sharing. Pat
This beautiful breed was my first dog and honestly she was the best thing ever, so affectionate, wouldn't hurt anyone! Loved anyone that came round, just amazing companion 😍😍
Thats because of press and government campaigns to give this amazing breed of dog a bad name and a dangerous image. Its all false, they protected children on farms and in homes for centuries which is why they are called the nanny breed. Staffies pick up traits from being raised badly and they can become highly aggressive in the wrong owners hands, there are a lot of bad owners in the uk unfortunately which lead to families getting rid of them. I wouldnt have no other dog around my kids and a Staffie qill die before it lets any harm come to them if raised and trained properly.
Iam from a ex mining village in north Nottinghamshire and they been in Staffordshire and Nottinghamshire's working class population right from the beginning and have always been loved by us.
i have a rescue staffy, hes short legged and had a broken tail so had to have it cut off🥺🥺 he was left abandoned on the streets until we picked him up from the shelter and he is the sweetest little thing ever!😫
My staffy is a rescue from California and she is perfect! I couldn't imagine my life without her. She was abused and abandoned in the backyard of a vacant house. I can't believe that people would do such horrible things to such loving and adorable animals
Great video. I have just lost my Staffie because he developed a brain tumour and could no longer eat or drink. We tried everything, but had to have him put to sleep. I am now looking for another. I only get my dogs from rescue homes. I live in Wales, UK. The Staffie is quite common here. I have had a number of different breeds, but I had a specially relationship with my staffie. He snored like mad, and slept on and in the bed. He was truly one of the family, and the most gentle dog we have had.
My little boy woody is a staffy, he is the gentlest, most sensitive wee soul and makes a great older brother to my 3 cats, shadow, bear and kodi. Would be lost without him 🐷❤
Shadow looks just like my brindle Staffie. I lost him in October to a heart tumor. He was 11 years old. He was the most loyal, intelligent and gentle dog I have ever been around. My boy T brought me through some very difficult times dealing with PTSD and depression. I was able to care for him for about 45 days before the tumor collapsed his heart. He was happy and in no pain. Each day of that month and a half carrying him on stairs, lifting him from and to the bed, medicating him and carefully managing his activity and play to keep him comfortable and pain-free made me realize T had essentially done the same for me for his entire life. I never really understood what "emotional support animal" truly meant. Then I faced life without him. I failed to even realize that is what T was to me. He was just there. Always there - reading my emotio ns I have to believe it may be even more difficult when your support animal comes from such an empathetic breed like this. I completely agree with you that it will be hard to own another breed after knowing a staffie. I still can't find an urn worthy of his ashes but that makes sense - I wasn't worthy of him.
Hey welcome to the channel and sorry for your loss. That's got to be hard. I can't imagine something like that happening to shadow. They sure are a comforting dog!
If you're in the US, good luck! They're still pretty rare here. AmStaffs & APBTs are a dime a dozen in shelters. Many times, the shelters will label dogs as SBTs but, in fact, they aren't.
Get a puppy trust me. Staffs are by far the best dog breed I've a staff x rottie at the moment. And a pure rottie. Had 2 boxers aswell. Staffy by far most intelligent loyal and trusting of all my other dogs by far the best genes aswell very unlikely to get a genetic problem with them The British know how to make dogs we have been doing it since the dawn of time. The germans have destroyed beautiful breeds with hip dysplasia and other genetic problems
Shadow is gorgeous. My son has a five year old English Staffordshire Bull Terrier who is so lovable. He never barks and we love him so much. Great video
Shadow is beautiful. I hope your son derives joy, happiness and love from his dog. Childhood is precious. I am sure that this dog has and will continue to enrich his experience.
I have two beautiful rescue Staffies called star + Zeus, they were tied up to a pole on the streets in London, star is 13 and Zeus is 7 They have their ups and downs but they’re a joy to have. Star was overweight but over the past year she has lost a lot of weight and is in much better health, she has lived longer than we had expected too! Zeus is very lively and is always out and about, We have had them for a year now, and i couldn’t imagine life without them both
@Lemon and Lime Lps - That sounds like the Star & Zeus I know. Did you adopt them both from Staffie & Stray Rescue? If so I'm Paul, the chap that was fostering them before your family adopted them. I was really sad to hear about Sky's passing. Out of all the dogs I fostered Star & Zeus were the ones I found most difficult to say goodbye too but knowing they were going to such a great family made it much easier. I hope Zeus is doing well.
You lost your Staffy only a few months ago ? Well I've got bad news; I lost mine 5 years ago - it broke my heart and I still miss her every day. Once you've had a Staffy nothing else will do. Hope you (eventually ) get over your loss but it is a hard process.
I've had Staffs all my life and I can say, without doubt, that they're the best breed of dog for any person. Young, old, active, inactive, family, or stranger, they don't care. So long as you give them love and attention (because you can't get away from giving them attention lol) they will be your friend for life. The only problem I have ever experienced is that they are escape artists. A 6ft fence is no problem for a Staff to scale and if they can't, they'll just run straight theough it. I know that not every person is a dog person, but those that are who still malign Staffs really don't know dogs at all. I'm so glad that you took the chance, had a breed you've never had before and haven't looked back. Just a quick edit - You said about them being called the "Nanny Dogs" and I'd just like to add to that a little bit. They're so called because when they were first bred (for dog fighting) injured Staffs would be taken home in the buggy/stroller of the families child, so it would basically be next to the child in the pram. Any Staff that showed aggression towards a human was immediately destroyed. They were bred to fight dogs, not humans. This is why they are so affectionate towards us and especially kids. It's been bred into their very nature.
Aperi Oculus How nice to read from someone who knows the breed well enough. The only thing I’d add to your version of ‘nanny’ dog is that police would follow you to see if you were taking him fighting so they’d be placed at the bottom of the pram, out of sight.. Dog men from the midlands were also known for their excellence in bone repairs to the dogs and many a person with a broken arm would seek them out as they couldn’t afford to go to a human hospital..
Aperi Oculus I had a Staffordshire Bull Terrier up until August. We had her for six years. She was about seven when we had to let her go. She had a tumor under her tongue and we did not find it until fever ravished her and she would not eat. I’m still heartbroken that she’s gone. My husband and I love the breed so much we would like another, but we don’t know how they are with other dogs. Our Eleanor (Aka Ellie) was excellent with other dogs, but we wanted to know how other Staffordshire Bull Terriers are.
@@soniasteckle5548 That's a shame Sonia, I am sorry to hear about Eleanor. We lost ours (Holly) last year, basically to the same thing. She had a tumour under her leg and she ended up with heart and lung failure, even though we'd been taking her to the vets. It was heartbreaking to have to go to the vets and see her drift away after nine years of being a member of our family, but I suppose all you can tell yourself is that it is in their best interests. All I can say about how Staffs are with other dogs is that it really is down to the individual, but I think any dog raised from a puppy around other dogs should be fine. Holly was a bit hit and miss, she was fine with some yet flew at others, I think it was just what kind of mood she was in. Poppy (our Staff we had before Holly) was fine. We had her for about two years then decided to get a Husky. After a bit of chasing him round they were fine and ended up being inseparable. Only problem was, Si (our Husky) was mad on squeaky toys. Poppy, not so much lol. He had it a few days, drove us all mad then we'd find it, tiny hole bitten out and the squeak missing. We always suspected Poppy lol. So yeah, my advice is always introduce Staffs to other dogs when they're puppies and they should be fine. I think any dog does well when brought up with a friend too, so that would help. I'm glad you're another lover of the breed though, they're so underrated and misunderstood unfortunately.
Aperi oculus, i think its called socializing or familiarizing? Jyst about any animal will accept the other if they are socialized from a young age. Our first family dog was english x amstaff used to snuggle up or lay around with our cat. My wife told me off once for sharing a photo on fb of my boy with a feral rabbit he caught on a walk. She said people would think he is dangerous. I looked over her shoulder, snapped another photo and shared. It was my boy and the cat laying together at the back door. Such a savage beast 😂😂😂
I’m an Australian, they are an Aussie favourite. Does shadow talk? A lot of them do, my female staffy loves to have a good conversation, not barking, but almost human talking.
My boy talks all the time. Just yesterday, we were going to my good friend's house (she has his best friend, a German Shepherd). She lives down a long gravel road. As soon as I turned onto the road, Hank was so happy he talked the entire way down that gravel road. He's such a ham!
Man, it's like I've seen a video of my own dog. I own a 1y1/2 black Staffordshire bull terrier called Orton and he behaves exactly the same way, he never barks, we train pretty easily even if sometimes we have to teach him for a long (patience is the key), he eats very fast and burps a few seconds after the same way !!! he's scared of all the same things you talk about in the video. I haven't experienced a flight with him but in car, he's so calm... last summer, we've been 600 miles down south of France (I live next to Paris) and for a 1st long trip with him, it was great. Well, it's amazing to see that my dog and yours are the same as you and Shadow and me and Orton don't know each other and live very far away from each other. As well, I wanted this breed of dog for the same reason as yours and the law with pit bull and am'staff are very restrictive here in France. Glad you enjoy your life with Shadow and if you ever fly to Paris with him, we'd be happy to meet you. Cheers Dan
I’ve had my staffie max for 12 years, I’ve only heard him properly bark two or three times (he snores and barks in his sleep) but actually barking only two or three times. They are an amazing breed. The nanny name comes from the fact of in the early 1900’s many nursery’s had many children and only one nurse, they brought in Staffies to help look after and protect the children. Staffs are incredibly wimpy but if you dare to attempt anything dubious towards its family they will defend with their lives! Max has proved this when I had him in the first year as me and my friend were sparring in my dads gym and he defended me by standing in front of me and being defensive, now that’s what you want from a dog. No fear of him attacking or being vicious towards anybody but having a faith that he loves you and will in extreme circumstances stand with you and defend you. Also he’s now currently nuzzled up to me snoring
He’s right that there are not a lot of Staffys in the states. We have a white and red female, 3 years old. Fantastic breed, very powerful and compact, 35lbs of muscle. People always think she’s a pit bull mix or something. Every once and a while someone will come running up to us and know exactly what she is and are excited to see another Staffy. She’s is a big baby for sure, hardly barks but she does love the pool. Scared of a lot of house hold items. Great dog, we will get one more soon.
What a lovely calm voice and I think that's the reason Shadow is calm. He looks a very happy and healthy dog and though my kids have Frenchies, these i love them, the price is a killer. I'm now looking at these little guys. I'll look forward to seeing more of you're videos on Shadow. All the best from down under! Maureen
@@phantomlord4387 "originally bred for bull-baiting and dog fighting in Birmingham by James Hinks in the mid-1800s. The Staffordshire Bull Terrier was originally known as the Bull Terrier and was later (incorrectly) changed to the Staffordshire Bull Terrier to distinguish between more readily available and not necessarily as pure breeds of the Bull Terrier." thestaffordshirebullterrier.co.uk/history
I have had a few Staffys, my current one Dillon is 12 years old now and i just love their temperament and personality, check out "Jock of the Bushveld" its a true story of a Staffordshire Bull Terrier.
In the U.K. there are so many staffies that are stuck in dog kennels - the reason is that people want ‘cute’ pups and there are so many staffies that are waiting and waiting for a owner hopefully but they end up with nothing so please adopt from a near shelter for any type of dog , they are just as loyal
Had my english staff for 13.3 years, still not have the courage after 1 year to get another dog, to say goodbye broke me, but he went to sleep peacefully. Rest well Famous.
@@IcEMystPrivate We will as it was the other day we had to get a few little lumps cut off her foot my partner and I decided not get them tested as she is fine, she is still her normal self.
We rescued an American/English Staffordshire. Her name is Tankgirl. She has the American Body and English head and ears. A breeder of American Staffies noticed her and asked if I wanted to breed her. He loved her size and her lines are so strong and defined. She is the most loving dog I ever owned. Loyalty, Intelligence, Tenacity, Brave, Loving, Gentle and OMFG the kids loved her. We called the kids in our old neighborhood Her Babies. She would and still does whimper and fuss when she sees children. A 2 year old little girl used to crawl all over her, it was so cute to see. This huge monster looking dog 65lbs and a 2 year old just wallowing all over one another. LOL!
my Staffie is super mouthy and so Prissy. but i love her because of that. I have owned a lot of Bulldogs and Pit bulls. but i don't think I will be getting any other breed. Staffys are probably the most loyal of all dogs breeds. And great video
How do you think they got their "rep"? I mean every dog was bred to perform a certain task. Trained or not, dogs will easily revert to their instincts. Staffies, Pits etc are no different. What you may want to consider are the ill bred back yard bred pits. Many of these dogs are bred only for their "aww" appeal as puppies and there is no concern for the dogs temperament. I've seen Staffies at dog shows and they are beautiful and decently trained but put a dog like that in the hands of a evil person and you have an entirely different dog.
That’s exactly why they got a bad rep, just like the pit bulls in the states. Staffy’s are so loving and as your man said great with kids. They were so popular here in England about 10 years ago but I’ve definitely noticed there’s a lot less of them around. like over there in the states the French bulldog is the breed of choice here now too. I’ve had 3 staffs and two of them looked very similar to shadow, one lived to 15yo and the other two to 14yo. I miss them all so much and that’s because they are so loving, I would recommend anyone thinking of getting one to do it, you won’t regret it, great vid!
I've known lots of staffs who were great with people but terrible with other dogs and animals in general. They can be sweet for sure but generally do have a high prey drive, are very strong for their size, have a massive pain threshold, and have a lot of fight in them. They do get a bad rep in the uk, for the most part due to the idiots who get them to look 'ard' and the other idiots who dont know how to responsibly own a potentially dangerous dog. That being said, I've been bitten by a rott, collie, a couple of yorkie and a lurcher but never by a staff, even when beating them to try to get them off other dogs.
So true - I had a staff for 16 years. She was a bit of a wimp but on the other hand she would stand out in front of me if threatened and protect me with her life.
Dan Rockwell bro I’m English and have a English staffy pit bulls are banned here they are mix breed. Staffies are registered pedigree. I had other English staffies too they don’t like water including rain they don’t like hoovers brushes etc they talk ALOT lol they are very affectionate and love to snuggle up in comfort on the sofa. Cannot be compared to pitbulls except pits have staffy genetics in them.
Not all staffys have that defensive instinct. I'm 100% sure mine would of run off if I was ever attacked in public with her their with me. She was way too soft mentally, physically she was 19kg of muscles but had zero understanding of violence of any kind. If I was looking for something and would start to get pissed off looking and start to swear under my breath, fuck this that and the other, she'd go hide under my bed. I never hit her once before anyone jumps to conclusions. She just was a soft dog. Someone breaking in with violence might of been a different matter, but I doubt it, she would of probably hide under my bed lol. The only thing she did was after a few months of a neighbour's dog snarling and trying to bite her, mine would of killed this runt dog BTW after getting fed up with this almost daily, she very calmly walked round this dog so it was side on bit its rig cage area, the thing was so shocked and yelped. I genuinely felt proud of her. For the first two years she'd lay on her back, as soon as any dog came near her, it was weird and unusual at the same time and would really piss me off at times, these where neighbours dogs, nothing to see as a threat, to submissive imo but the best ever dog, kids of all ages loved her and it never even crossed my mind to be worried. She had no comprehension of violence is the only thing that I could think of to explain this. I'm very glad it never because learned behaviour. RIP daisy, my one and only true love, and that covers family and and girlfriends. Give me a staffy any day over people.
My staff Tessa was soft as brush, over the years she's been bit by other dogs many times, and never once offended herself. She was mad for swimming , couldn't keep her out of water ,and when raining liked going for a drive in the the car cos she hated rain. She passed away on her 15th birthday in may this year, best dog ever
Susan Wojcicki ruined RU-vid for what purpose dog fighting ? That’s entirely cruel and wrong 😔 staffies are classed as a working breed but as in gamebred that must b for illegal activities so underground breeding. Staffies were culled if they bit their handler and were trained to fight other dogs that’s the reason the modern staff is usually dog aggressive BUT not towards humans they are very much people lovin dogs.
I had an American English Staffy. They are common here in New Zealand. His name was Angus. I am getting another one too. He died at 21 years old. He is good with babies and children. They could pull his tail and ears and he just lay there not even bothered. He was always completely gentle with babies and children. He was protective of me after I fell ill and went to hospital and nearly died. After being in hospital for about 16 weeks I was just in bed at home unable to move or talk. I was chronically ill and in pain. I was in high risk of dying but the doctors saved me. During the 16 weeks at home my parents brought his food bowl and water bowl into my bedroom because he refused to leave my side. He only left to go to the toilet and then he would run back to my room and lay next to me on my bed. He has also saved me from drowning. He brought me back to shore a long distance out at sea. He was really amazing. The best dog our family have ever had. I recommend English Staffys to everyone. They are so gentle with there humans and we got puppies after him and he was so gentle with them too.
My dog is also a English Staffie! So if your wondering what my Staffies name is...her name is Myer and my dog is mostly scared of storms because of what happened years ago. But people are scared of Myer sadly but her most favourite thing is attention and destroying tennis balls within 5 mins if you leave them alone of a period of time you will see tennis ball pieces in our yard...
My Staffy Stella is 12years old and she is the best dog I have ever had. She also doesn’t bark much. I would totally recommend this breed to any one thinking about getting a puppy.
Enjoying your video my friebd. We recently lost our Staffy of 12 years 3 months. Still very tender times for us. He was American Staffy. Typically known here in New Zealand as AmStaff. Your pup looks beautiful. And I already see some familiar traits like the way he sits. I'm thinking he will grow out of that fear of household appliances. He will wind up chasing them. They are very smart. We only toilet trained him. He figured the rest out. Fantastic temperament, loved kids, unbelievable memory. Staffies of all kinds are the best companions... like ever.
Kevin Rees you made a great choice! Such great dogs, just make sure he gets plenty of time socializing with other dogs. Shadow got a little aggressive when I stopped taking him to the park as much, but now that i take him more, he’s fine 😎
@@danrockwell1883 hi Dan..where can I rescue a staffer?..my Best friend in the world lab bull mastiff mix passed away unfortunately in October although I m still broken hearted, I believe its time to move on .
Julio Caban sorry to hear about that first off. It’s gotta be rough. I actually just did a video all about getting a Staffie, it’s my latest video. If you live in the USA you have to buy one because they’re rare here. In Europe in Australia there’s many in shelters but none here. Check out the video if you really want to get one 😊 you won’t regret it If you do, such great dogs
I had a female staffy, she would never ever bark. Extremely friendly and popular here in England, too popular unfortunately. She took to house training straight away from bringing her home for the first time. They we're voted the most popular dog here in England for the year 2019.
My Ozzy never barked either he made a whole load of other sounds but never barks. Then I put him in the car with my mam's Jack Russell and he discovered defending the car was a game, turns out he could bark.
@Griffith Williams I know it's a terrible shame. In Leeds it's not as bad as it used to be. I went to a couple of dog places a few months ago, their was one in each. It would of been the majority ten years ago. That's what I meant by saying their very popular unfortunately. But as a previous owner (rip daisy) I still love the breed above all else and everything going well plan to be a new owner again next spring. Im proud that they were voted the UK favourite this year. Their are tons more responsible owners now. It's a shame that the feral youth decided it to be a status dog cos their bitch pussys, that was the start of them being unwanted dog's, you could get them for £50 back in the day. Looking online now, they go for £700-£1200. The fucktards benefits don't stretch that far fortunately.
@Griffith Williams that's exactly how I got mine, the lady who had him had no control of him BECAUSE she wasn't meeting his needs with regard to exercise and training.
It’s just so heart breaking when you have to say goodbye, after a lifetime of adventures together. Mines been by my side almost 24 hours a day , comes to work with me , climbed every mountain with me , 11 now and I tear up thinking of the inevitable. Just love them every second of the day
My staffy Titus loves our stream. I show him what's safe and then he isn't scared of anything. Important to get them unscared or they will fight fearful things/dogs to the death. Their natural courage stems from their natural sense of fear. As they are so human-orientated, they are seriously amenable to teaching.
One thing you’ll find with staffies their not keen on going in water for some reason. I’ve always had Staffies I’m from Staffordshire in England so naturally love them😊
Dan Rockwell no Dan he’s certainly not. Their notoriously scared of water for some reason and that is coming from a U.K based Staffordshire Bull terrier breeder who lives in Staffordshire. I’ve always said once you have a Staffie you’ll never want another breed of dog. Maybe I’m biased. Much love from Staffordshire, England😊🇬🇧👍🏻
Matt G Totally agree. Mine used to run into a shop doorway to get out of the rain when walking him and he’d have to be dragged out of it only for him to jump in to the next doorway...
I had a Staffie and we wondered if he could bark. About three years in, he began barking when someone came to the door or parked in the driveway. He had such a robust bark that one would think he would eat your face off. When I opened the door he couldn’t have been more friendly. He was so good with my little grand baby and she could crawl all over him. He hated the UPS truck and would go nuts when the truck was near the house. I tried not to have him outside when I thought it was time for the truck. He would break loose and chase the truck. I loved that dog-he was full of personality and I miss him.
Dan Rockwell blue on blue breeding causes this...should only have one blue in the pair whilst breeding,..but then your only going to get a few blues back in the litter,.and pure blues are dearer,.so SOME breeders just guarantee a full blue litter by mating blue on blue dog...but they a prone to skin problems,.luckily my girl only had a bit of trouble for a few months with regards to her skin when she was very young...
Our girl is semi pied blue. Gorgeous dog. Did you know it is actually a non prefered colour for showing? And yes every 2 or 3 litters you need to put black back in the mix or you get blue brindle and fade etc. Staffys in general are prone to skin conditions (dermatic mange etc) but reputable breeders discontinue blood lines with re-occurring genetic issues like hips, bad skin, bad temperments (well the good ones do). One thing to remember, rescue/adopt or go pedigree. Shut down the market for backyard breeders and puppy farms chasing $$$ instead of breeding for love 😊
my staffy is 17 years old (looks exactly like your boy) he's the kindest, most gentle animal I've ever encountered. it's about like you said, learning your animal. pitbulls are wonderful creatures but depends on the owner. love this video mate
Agreed ,i am picking my new english staffy puppy up in 4 weeks . He is the runt of the litter like my last one who turned out to be the most amazing pet ever . Like the last one this one is also a throwback and comes in white .Thanks for the video staring Shadow amazing boy
@@danrockwell1883 the Staffordshire Bull Terrier is the precursor to the APBT. They were originally bred from the Bull Terrier and the Old Tyme Bulldog yo create a better dog for bull baiting and box sports (dog fighting).
Thanks you answered a lot of my questions, and Shadow is a little cutie! I’m excited to get an English Staffy of my own. Also it’s true, dogs do look like their owners 😉
Staffies are amazing!! I got my bella in 2011 10 years later still here! She absolutley adores my child wont leave her side! She aided my grandmother to the toilet and back as she was bad on her feet my dog made sure she got to the toilet and back such emotional dogs!!! Each needs a loving home shame some people mistreat them 😭
I love 💖 staffies i had one before but she died but then two years later I got another two staffies. The y are so good. People may think there bad but there actually really lovely dogs. We also trained them to do sit wait leave down paw. Your dog I so trained and well behaved. I’m not sure but I think my staffies are the English ones.
I love him. Hes a credit to you. Ive had 3 Staffys theyre a wonderful breed. They do bark i promise you...its a very high pitched girly bark 😂You may want to check out GEORGE THE STAFFY hes in uk... Shadows double. 😁
One if not the most popular dog in the UK. Mine is a gorgeous rescue called Baxter. He's been my best buddy for 8 years. Have always been my favourite breed and. The original Staffordshire bull terrier. I am very pleased you discovered the breed
They are very common here in Australia too. Ive owned many and yes they are the best dogs and very afraid of things. The best personality ever! Staffies can get bored and are prone to separation anxiety and can be very destructive if left alone for long periods of time. Lots of walks and toys to tire them out 👍🏻
@@danrockwell1883 it is! They really are the best dogs, but they do get a bad rap here in the UK. They were seen as a status dog by some and as a result our shelters are full of them. Personally I've never known a bad staffy, just a few bad owners.
I have a staffy and they are absolutely amazing! So loving and caring and just like you said, once people see just how amazing they are the popularity is gonna explode! They are one of the top 10 most popular breeds in Sweden rn 🙂 But to all the people thinking they are gonna be good guard dogs: forget it! They love ALL people and just as said in the video they don't bark when people come to the house or anything like that. Good luck with Shadow, he's absolutely adorable
OMG Shadow is fricking adorable!!! I fell inlove with my teachers staffy,I have wanted one for months, can't wait till I can adopt one!!!! (which won't be till my 20's :( and i'm 18 ahhh
I am a massive advocate for this breed. They are amazing. They are loyal, compassionate, we call them nanny dogs. My dog is a rescue mix (English Staffy and Jack Russell) and I have had him since he was 10 months old. I already wrote this before you said Nanny. Cosmo is now 13.5 years old, and we love him so much. Love from Jane and Cosmo, Nottingham, UK. xxx
