Tom Kubiniec, CEO of Secure It Tactical, is the world's leader in small arms storage solutions suppling elite US military teams. Kubiniec dives into what's available on the market for gun owners, what to watch out and other important details to consider when shopping for the best gun safe for your home.
Tom Kubiniec entered business as the textbook “out of the garage” company after he could no longer play guitar professionally in Los Angeles--that garage turned into an office which grew into a successful data storage company. Today Secure It is listed among Inc5000’s fastest-growing private U.S. companies...

I am the proud owner of an Agile 52 it is absolutely perfect for my needs. After listening to this podcast I feel even better than I initially did to have supported this company, especially after hearing the story of him almost selling his house, that part hit home hard, the guy is just an ordinary, everyday hardworking guy, with the same problems in life like all the rest of us. I am happy to give folks like him with an amazing business my hard earned dollars than to give it to a soulless, over wealthy, Wall Street business man that doesn't give a rats ass about the customer, any day of the week. Keep it up my friend, you have earned a life long customer right here.

I've got a sports afield cabinet from menards and plan on getting 2 more. If something was to ever happen to the house or guns thats what insurance is for. I love guns but i dont have a crazy collection or married to a certain brand or model. If i lose some ar15s I'll just get more 🤷🏾‍♂️

I believe the safest way to prevent children from having accidents with guns is through education. The first thing I did when I brought home my pistol was unloaded it put it on the table and had the kids pick it up mess with it get the curiosity out of them. My 13-year-old has her own gun. We do drills together at home, same with my 17-year-old. Unfortunately, I trust them more than some adults I know. Now are all children capable of being that responsible? No, and I get that. Anytime The kids want to go shooting with me, they have to recite the gun safety rules to me. We do the same thing before we do any practice drills too.

I recently purchased an Agile 52 and Agile 40 to stack on top of it to store ammo and 6 rifles that I ran out of space for in my traditional 'safe.' I'm totally sold on the SecureIt products now. I'm obsessed with that type of storage now. It's so clean. I bolted them to the studs with 1/4" screws and it's solid as hell.
@raifcluster

I bought a cheap safe, put it in an obvious place and put nothing in it. The burglars who broke into the house soon thereafter went right after it, using prybars and hammers. They were so focused on that safe that they didn't bother searching the rest of the house. I lost nothing of value. On a different note, anyone who stores their home defense gun in a safe is so far behind the eight ball that it's laughable. Wear your home defense weapon. Believe me, you'll get used to it.

I hate it when people use the argument “but my kids are taught to be safe with firearms!” It’s so irresponsible. I have 4 kids and I have and Ar-15 in a quick access lock box on the wall, I keep my pistol on me, and the rest stay locked in the safe. I trust my kids with guns. But I love them enough to keep my guns locked up.

The best part about this podcast was that it did not try to drive people's emotions, but spoke about common sense and getting good results. I would purchase a Secure It cabinet but I live in a city in California that requires CA DOJ approved cabinets for firearms storage. How dumb when these cabinets work as good or better. In fact I use a CADOJ approved Stack-On which does not even come close to an Agile cabinet quality and design. Government regulations restrict great ideas and freedom again! I think they are a great product and I like that they will fit inside a bedroom closet, hidden from plain sight.

People have been making realistic looking guns with Lego long before that business made a firearm that looks like it was made from Lego. Police shoot people they perceive have a firearm. There was a guy who was shot dead by police for pointing a vape pen at them. Tom's argument seems like a moot point.

@sublimetulii23
@sublimetulii23 3 года назад
I don’t care what anyone says about safes, just buy one that does the job for keeping the wrong hands from getting to your guns, that’s all that matters. And the best safe is a hidden one & bolted to the floor. It’s smart to not hide all your guns in one spot. It’s also smart to be prepared for unexpected guests or circumstances. If a burglar is able to get into your home without you being alerted beforehand, you failed at security 101 class. About the Lego Glock 19, all guns look like toys to kids, so it doesn’t matter what a gun looks like. Women have colored guns that look like toy guns already & now there are 3D printed colored guns. There are toy manufacturers who make toy guns that look real, those are the people to be upset with, not a CNC machine company. Also, the argument about it making cop’s jobs harder is BS. If it looks like a gun, is being pointed at people, used in making death threats, they treat it as real. Cops believe people who make their intentions known. Cops have shot people for having their cell phone in their hands or wallets. Stop with that fudd take that guns can’t look cool. I love cool & unique looking guns & we should have every right to dap it up the way we want. Just be responsible with your guns, that’s the big take here. Adults like colored things too & guns have become accessories & art pieces, so stop being a fudd about cool looking guns. Otherwise I enjoyed this podcast.

Bolted 2 down and use the other 40 for my ammo cans but I been feeling like I need a more solid type of safe hence why I'm looking into the Answer 12. I love the Secureit system and the modularity/organization of the interior. I'm a retired Firefighter and I can tell you that sheetrock is a GREAT fire suppressant. I've been in fully involved home fires where most of the house was wood and an add on room was sheetrocked. Guess which one was still standing? Exactly, the sheetrock room. Almost ALL homes in my State and City are sheetrock interior and noone is getting sick from it. A while back a bunch of Chinese sheetrock got into homes and sickened people but that was fixed...no more bad Chinese sheetrock! As far as safes go as the man said professional Firefighters will get to your home in less than 5 to 6 minutes if they are a good Fire Department. Your Liberty safes will be just fine. Yes water is a safes enemy but so are a lot of other houshold items. That's why we Firefighters train to use the least amount of water and to very quickly not only extinguish the fire but to actively pull the smoke and water vapor out of your home with positive mechanical ventilation. BTW home fires are at an all time low as building codes get better. Thats why Fire Departments are cutting back on personnel. Again, if and it is true, that water is the enemy to a Liberty safe or other type safes, it is an enemy to your company's safe as well no matter who builds it or how well it is built. Anyone, me included, who has a safe and doesnt open it up and air it out regularly is not thinking straight. Golden rods work just fine in most instances. No safe manufacturer builds a safe that checks all the boxes including this mans safe company. He's a great salesman I'll give you that, and his safes are probably better than most safes, but not all, and nor in every way. Things made by men are never perfect which is true for this company as well. I'll keep my safe and I'll be just as protected as anyone with this safe in my opinion. Now, Im sure storing guns in multiple places is a better idea than in one place, but for those of us who have good and well built safes are still ok. Maybe its true he has a better safe but Im not chucking my older Liberty safe just yet. If I hadnt already bought a safe years ago I would seriously consider this safe. But as I said I think Im ok with my choice of safes. In Florida, if you have a well built safe in your home and you sell it, noone, well at least the vast majority of people takes their safes with them. Leaving a good safe in the home will only ADD to your homes resale value in today's market. Having said all the above, I did enjoy the video and got some good info out of it. I'll give you this, that man is a very good salesman. If we all had it to do over again we would buy the latest and greatest, but most ordinary people dont have that much discretionary spending capability so most people who have safes will probably just stay with what they have. In most instances the safe you have is probably going to be ok, but hey, if you've got the money to spend this type of safe this man is selling is probably a very good choice for a new buyer in that space. All I'm pointing out is there are always two sides, as my wife says, to the flattest pancake. Nough said!

I see where there coming from. But not sure if they both know that back in the colony days, there were numerous churches, that fined members. And colonies that the fines people for not having there guns on them. It was the idea that you are responsible to be self sufficient and provide security for your neighbors also. If you don’t have your rifle on you you couldn’t do so. It was common for people to had guns on them especially on the frontier. Samuel Adam’s 8 year old son carried his rifle all day long every day and trained with the local militia. In fact the anti gun laws started in the 1630s on Virginia and it was to limit black people from having guns. Later in the 1830s numerous states enacted anti slave or black gun laws. That’s why many anti gunners don’t want to bring up these old gun laws, as they are exceedingly racist. Most anti concealments laws were made in the 1930 laws during the gangster laws.

If there's a way to change the combo requirements, someone please let me know. Both of those things serve to slow down entry into the safe.

As arm storage law goes ... what are the minimum/common requirements for private gun onwers ?

In general none, as long as you control who has access good to go. There are certain NFA items have their own rules. If any rules exist it is on a state or local level, you will have to check where ever the gun is.

Great job. Get rid of that pos guitar. Loved his playing but OMG! The buzz is like nails on a chalkboard. Love his products but way too expensive. Love how he calls out the “safe” manufacturers, and revealed the truth of the residential storage unit. However I bought a 64 gun “20” fat boy size “safe” for $699. (Black Friday sale). It has electric lock, something like 10 locking bolts. Sheetrock, carpet, shelves and a door organizer. The SecureIt product that comes close to that size is $2000. I believe that is what is keeping him from the mass market. If he had a “consumer grade” product that was half the price, they couldn’t make them fast enough.

So Mick, are you going to be picking up a SecureIt storage container? Or are you sticking to the usual "safes"?
