I have been contemplating on adding the Kraus bars on my 2022 RG CVO. I have been doing a lot of research before I pull the trigger till stumbled on your video. Thank you for for you complete explanation and the breakdown about these bars. I finally know what to do next thank you!!!
Still like it ? I'm about to pull the plug and get everything I need got my street glide st. I much would tether have t bars than any other option. I just would want straight risors
Thank you for providing such a great informative video. I am on the market for a T-bar setup. Now I have more confidence to make a more informed decision. Ride safe.
Beautiful RG bud. Thanks for the vid. I can't get on board with the T-bars on baggers myself but I totally get the performance application. I have buddies that run them and absolutely love em.
Hi Greg...I'm looking at T-Bars for Mt 2011 Road King. I'm 6'3...I'm in NJ...many haters re installing these...any help re measurement, bars, risers...best video I've seen...
NJ - make sure you call Mike at Get Lowered in Warminster, PA. He can help. I went and sat on a bike that had T-Bars, and when I swapped my seat....I realized I needed another setup. It's all bike/rider specific. Take measurements and you'll be fine. Good luck!
Thanks for posting its a difficult decision. Straight risers give it a more aggressive look while the pullback looks more sport. HIGH quality product. They handle like a dream!
I truly like your setup. My hesitation has been the ability to see and access my entertainment screen. I've been leaning towards the Spadafora T-bar setup for my 18 RGS. But I do like yours..
I just bought a used RG with 16" 47 bars....I was wondering why I had such difficulty maneuvering it at low speeds....(I previously had a 2008 with 12" Yaffee). Do you guys really think that the height makes that much difference maneuvering at low speeds? (Before I drop additional cash on new bars/setup). THANKS!!
Awesome content! I wish you could have shown ur true view while in the saddle. I get what ur saying about seeing what’s most important, my concern has been not seeing the info-tainment screen. I guess I’ll just relocate the speedo/tach. Again, great video
I had drag bars on my bike. I put T bars on .. it feels so better having your arms in straight in front you and having the proper height. My buddy has apes on his bike almost the same bike. We swapped bikes, I hated it because of the turns. He hated mine. Lol he wants the look of apes, I wanted better handling
Going to a T Bar setup on the RG was perhaps the best upgrade I made. Bike handles like a cafe racer. East to turn at slow speeds, and you can really move the bike through the twists.
Great video. Would like to see more about the special mount for the accessory switches. I like the t bars but would like to keep the accessory switches also
Thanks for the video. What did you not like about the 12in FXR motorwitch bars that you had before you put the ones from Kraus on. Due to budgetary constraints, I’m looking at getting the motorwitch 12 inch bars and rotating them a little toward me for some pullback.
I think I will save up my money for the t-bar setup. I would like to “take my comfort to the next level.” Being as comfortable on the bike as possible is a motivator for the T-bar setup, whether I go with Kraus or Thrashin.
@@Taurian321 It would be fun to try out the bike with those bars in an advanced Pro Rider course to see how it handles at low speeds in full locks left and right!! 👍👍
Great video. I'm 6'2 and I want the same set up. Do you think I should get 8,10 or 12 riser ? I don't know if its starts looking awkward the higher you go.
You can go 10 or 12, but you can also skip the pullback plate depending on your reach to avoid it looking "too high". Which, I agree with you. If your seat placement is back, then use a pullback plate. If not, skip the pullback and go w/10's. if you still need more height, you can get the spacers from Kraus. Add's the extra 2".
I have the same set up on my 2020 SGS along with their inverted front end and Ohlins on the rear. The biggest upgrade these bars offer is the handling thru the corners. It blows the standard bars out of the water. What I will say is I had after market 10 inch wide style bars prior to the upgrade. I liked the height and that's why I went with the Kraus 10 risers with fly Moto bars. After I did that I changed out the rear stock 12 inch shocks and installed the 13 inch Ohlins. That changed out the height of my bars actually lowering them. Had I done all the shocks first I would have gone with the 12 inch. Just something to think about before you drop the $$$$.
@@Taurian321 It's great and adding the rear Ohlins really brought the whole thing together. I also have the Lucky Daves seat which was worth every penny.
I got a 22 road glide with this set up is that piece behind your bars full customized or was there a part that you started off with and put you touches on it thank you..
Sure don't understand why everyone calls these ''T BARS''? They are MOTOCROSS bars mounted on risers. Real ''T'' bars are what Oakland Chapter ''HELLS ANGEL'' Scotty developed (WEST COAST TBARS) with risers and a horizontal bar making it a ''T''. He also has a Moto Cross version. All I know is it was much easier of an install on my old 2002 Road Glide I used to have! I am 5'7'' so if I went with the 10'' straight and maybe the seat you have, I should wind up with the same view and arm stretch as you? Thanks for the information.😎
Great video, very informative. I've got a set of Kraus pullbacks on my Dyna, great riser from great company. Only thing that bugs me is their anodizing. Looks like your gauge relocation is already starting to discolor brown. I've got the machine finish, because my friends black anodized Kraus setup is already a nasty brown/purple color.
You are 100% correct. Kraus offered to swap mine out, but if you see mine in person...the color almost perfectly matches the dash of my Mako (it's more of an eggplant color). So, I'm leaving it for now, but I may swap it out.
Hope this question makes it to you. I just traded a 2019 EG with 60,000 miles on her in for a new 2022 RG. I am an aggressive rider around town and through the twisties of the mountains, but I also do long trips. Just last month I road my EG over 6,000 miles going around in a cycle in the lower 48. Are the T-bars going to be comfortable when I do my long trips? Are well I need two set ups for when I need to put 600 to 800 miles in at 10 to 12 hours?
@@Taurian321 This is exactly what Im looking to do with my 16 SG build to replace my 14" Yaffes. This has been the question Ive been hoping to get answered. Daily rider and want to keep my HD heated grips and have been delaying because of the "wont work". Is he running HD heated grips?
Will your builder sell the custom plate for the bag switches? I have a 2021 CVO Road Glide. I also have the same set up as you the only difference is I have the ERG bars.
Wow, great information, thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge! I'm in the process of buying a pristine '07 RG with the intention of installing the Kraus 8 inch setup. Not sure where in NY you are located but I'm in NJ, wondering if you would be willing to share the name of who installed your setup. I do a considerable amount of work on my bikes but this install appears to require a degree of custom work to get it done clean and tight. Looks like he did a great job. Also, did you have to eliminate your heated grips? If I remember correctly, the Kraus website indicates the setup is not compatible with heated grips ...thanks!!!
It is so confusing! What products list you need from kraus? Do I need triple plate for this setup? How can I solve the issue of the turn on mid item to turn on the bike!
Me three please... I just built similar set up and hate that I can see the wiring... I love everything else... Also, what grips and levers are you running? Thanks great video!
Doing a lot of research about these bars so far finding out its the best on the market. Have a question for you I am 5.8 wondering to install them on my 2018+ Fat Bob but cant figure it out go with 8inc riser and 2.5 handle bar or 10 with 2.5. With pull back set up and do have Saddlemen step up seat.
Hi I have the 14” factory 47 on my RGS. Is there a big difference between the kraus and the 47s. I feel like around sharp corners it’s hard to manover my bike. How is it with the kraus set up
Very hard to maneuver any bike when your hands are extended out. T Bars give you superior handling and make the bike much easier to turn at low speed, and you can really go into corners at high speed with better control. Don't think twice....go T Bar's.
Very very informative video thank you so much. I do a lot of touring and after seeing a lot of video about the ergonomics of riding positions am wondering are the TBars good for long rides or not ? Talking about 3+ hours ride
All depends on how you set them up, like many variations. However, you should feel much less stress on your arms and shoulders, and for me, I can ride 6-8 hours...all day...and keep going. Super comfortable for touring. We are going out on a 3 week adventure this summer with our bike.
@@Taurian321 would you say the change to the 13”s changed the ergonomics of the rider triangle at all when considering this setup? Asking to sort out if I should get the 13”s done prior to taking the measurements.
@@TigerDavidson I personally don't think the difference from 12" to 13" will have much impact, if any at all. Changing the suspension will have an added impact when running T-Bar's for sure.
Hey Greg, I hope you are well. I have a 2020 ROAD GLIDE. I am trying to do the same T-bar set up as you did. Do you know a company in south Florida that can do the Kraus set up? I went to 2 different H-D dealerships none of them deal with the KRAUS products.
I'm not sure how mechanical you are, but my friend installed his setup on his own: risers, pull back plate, triple tree clamp, and bars. It's not difficult at all, but if you prefer to have it installed, I would call Kraus (or email info@krausmotorco.com) and ask them for a reputable shop near you. I don't have any experience with any shops in FL, so I can't stand behind any referral. Good luck!
Hopefully you’re still replying, I need to know where you got those levers, venmo looking for red clutch/brake levers forever, do you have a link by chance? Thanks!
What does this setup do for slow speed u-turns and going around corners handlebars turned and a quick stopping? I have a 2020 road glide limited I hate the factory bars it came with.
Can you please let me know the name of the Builder I would like to get something to replace the factory Nestle and hide my wiring and keep my buttons for the bags please I'm begging you.
The ODI high bend bars with Kraus 10” pullbacks would feel much better. The ODI high bend bars would fit the gauge housing better and pullback risers would increase gauge visibility 😎⚡️🤙
6'0 isn't exactly getting you into the Guinness book of world records. Any T Bar setup - just go higher on the risers. You can run 8's, 10's, 12's, 14's...even higher.
When your feet are not on the floorboards you are not in the position you will be riding in. You will be leaned back farther with your feet on the boards.
