Oh I am so thrilled this spreadsheet you’ve shared has a “max days” column for all the hybrids (even if it is from a guide from the old game)! In my opinion, knowing how many days a crop takes to grow is critical to deciding if it’s worth it to grow, because dividing the profit by how many days it takes to grow can give you the gold per day for a crop, and sometimes that’s really surprising :o. Like I did that for all of the basic crops since I did find the in-days numbers for them, and I found out that Tomatoes technically make more money than Potatoes (because potatoes take 9 days to grow, and tomatoes take 5.5 days to grow) which was absolutely wild.
you can get Vinnie to do hybrids for you as early as Spring 1, Year 2 (Just order an animal - i usually do a chicken) and some bird feed. you really just want Takakura to get to/from the city. Then you can spam talk him on that day, and unlock the ability in about 15 minutes. (yay). you don't have to spread it out. if you S Rank your base fruit - you can use the CROP to change your hybrids into S rank. (this is how you get S Rank Trees if you don't want to pump a lot of fertilizer onto the treees (It takes about 60 bags PER tree to get to S Rank) S Crops do make S Seeds (duh) but using the S seeds for hybris = B rank seeds. (I was soo MAAAAAADDDD) lol So i feeel once you are rellatively good with seed money (heehheee). as stated - buy the base seeds. hybrid them up. then just spread te fertilizer on them. (you could (if you wanted save some for seeds and i'll have to test it out) and it really just depends how much time you wanna spend with Vinnie.
I have been doing the blue varities and fertilizing those, then replanting while also working on the hybrids. I am doing 6 of each, then planting, fertilizing to get S crops, then making seeds and replanting. That is as far as I have made it to so far. I have a bit to go to get all the 2nd gen hybrids. I don't even know if I will go any further. Just 1 of each 3rd gen to get the wonder. You can make a lot of money just off the 2nd gen. Now the fruit trees? I'm doing the 3rd gen on those.
I will say, you don't need to order an animal on that day for Vinnie to show up. I didn't order anything, and still got the cutscene on Branching Spring 1 for Takakura to introduce us to Vinnie. I think the main thing is just having Takakura's friendship high enough.
Anyone wondering how to get S-grade blue fruits?, try this tips i did. Mix a regular S fruit with a blue fruit, for example : s-grade apple fruit + a blue grape fruit, it will make an s-grade blue grape seed. I tried with seeds and didn't work, but with fruit+fruit does work.
lol "first couple of days" try the first day my guy all u gotta do is spam talk to him till his meter is smiling considering that's the only way to get his friendship up is to talk
I've got one question for you, are you still able to upgrade a crop with multiple flowers? in the original i'm pretty sure you were able to use all the flowers on a seed to get the ultimate crop, S rank that grows in any soil and any season. I never personally got that far in the game, but on the game cube " another wonderful life " there was a cheat that allowed you to get like 99 of every item and those maxed out seeds were one of said items, so it used to be possible. I'm not quite far enough in my play through to have vinnie yet so i can't test it myself xD
