What You NEED to Know about Printify Shipping with Shopify Basic Plan For Beginners

Hello everyone,
This video was created to assist with setting up shipping from Printify with the Basic Shopify Plan. You cannot use the Shipping Calculator feature with the Basic Shopify Plan. Printify does not currently have a "1-button-click" integration for setting up shipping with this plan. It requires a few manual steps. In this video I will show you how to do it!

Thank you so much omg!!! I was looking everywhere to figure this out. Even Shopify and printify couldn’t help me! It didn’t work at first and then I realized I had to also go to the product listed separately and change the actual product weight too to match up with that in the shipping! Life saver. I’m so happy it’s fixed now. ❤

This was a good review. I have also learned that you can include your shipping rate with your product price. So if you have an item that cost Printify $15 to make $5 to ship you could price it at $40. To the customer they would receive "free shipping" and you would gain $20 (minus tax). This also depends on the type of product (hopefully high ticket item), in general this could work.

I know right. So many people out here saying you can do "this" or "that" with no money and this is how you do it. But they leave out so much important information for thoes who are new to the game. But with this channel, I'm trying to change that and provide you with thoes little hidden details that I really had to struggel with. I actually just went on the pause and build plan for Shopify 'cause we out here on a budget, right! I redesigned my entire store with a FREE theme for better customer experience and will be opening with in the next couple of days. Now I will focus on this channel and plan on doing a virtual tour of my store and do videos on how to do a lot of custom features on a FREE theme, without coding and with free apps. All these comments have really been an inspiration and I see that I have been able to help so many people and will continue to. Thank you and stay on the look out! SO glad I can help!

This has been incredibly helpful as I start my own store. My store is still under construction and I've had the hardest time with shipping from Printify more than anything. I could be wrong, but I think you could go into your Products and bulk edit each item to be literally any weight. Like make every shirt size 1 pound, for example. And then you could have an easier time calculating the shipping rates by weight from there. I think Printify is only concerned with quantity, size, color, etc. Has anyone else tried this?

The actualy weight of the product does not matter and you can input any weight for any product, its just used to calculate the additional item prices based on the ranges you set up.

great info! Yes, I now see that Shopify charges an extra $10/mnth for the automatic shipping calculater.. these costs add up! Wow, they make it complicated to force us to a higher subscription cost. thank you for sharing!

I have been struggling with shipping and so confused. You can say I am a full artist... I know nothing about business or economics or shipping ro anything... and its been a real turn off. I know that my designs are good but I have never won the battle with the business side and that is why my store has not opened.... I used to get ahead then some thing would confuse me etc... anyways I watched this video and I set up first product and shipping was a breeze thanks to you. I tested it to the point of almost purchasing my first product. I want to come back and add a business account versus my personal checking so I can keep finances separate.Now I have the confidence to start creating a line of products and focus my energy on my strengths which is designing. Thanks to you! I saw that Shopify added a tax rate automatically because I know I didnt change that.... are you planning on making a video explaining taxes? This video was so easy to follow!!! This video was super helpful! But, I am still stuck. At the end it didn't go back over to printify and show the integration. I followed all of these steps but I cannot "enable printify shipping calculation for shopify checkout".... please help!!!

So for every single product we make, we have to ask for the weight? Also, my product was automatically sent to the general shipping profile, so when I create new profile the product is still in the general profile after I put it in the custom profile. Will that create a conflict?

just want to say thank you for the video , helped me understand a little bit better because I been looking through printify help center and not understanding.. The shipping so difficult to set up, using a few different venders and setting up shipment for shirts, hats, hoodies and collectables.. would I have to make different rates for each vender or each item ?

Thank you so much for watching this video. Okay, let me explain this the best way I can... If you have different vendors, the first thing I suggest you do is look to see if Printy has different shipping prices for each print on demand product. If a vendor only sells one product, then you can move on. Now if the vendor has several products that you would like to sell, you need to look at the shipping for each product. You would have to set a seperate shipping rate for each product/item from that vendor. But, if the vendor you choose to go with only has one prduct/item, then you can set up one shipping rate for that vendor. Also, if the vendor has several items with the same shipping rate, you could set up one shipping rate for that vendor. So pretty much it boils down to the item. Set up your shipping rate according to the item. Hope that makes sense. If you need more details, just let me know. Be encouraged to keep growing your Shoify store!😁

Hi, when you're done designing your product and publishing it. If a customer buys it, does printify handle the shipping? Meaning I won't get charged anything but will rather just gain revenue?

But if your customer orders 4 or 5 note books you still have to pay the shipping for the 4th and 5th note book. Is there a way to set it up and the customer know they have to pay that much shipping? cant we set it up so customers pays it no matter how many notebooks they order. instead of using weight I used the dollar amount to determine how many items they are purchasing and charge them the correct shipping for each and shopify would not allow me to charge more that the 2nd shipping amount so i had 4 items from to separate co with different shipping charges and would only charge 6.00 for each co and not the 2nd shipping amount which was 4.00 on one and 1.00 on the other. No matter what we charge shopify has their own rules and we still have to pay the shipping for each item to printify. what am i missing this can't be new how does one get around this?

And yeah, sometimes I feel like the support is not there like Shopify and Printify advertise. But that is my goal. Such a great video! I'm needing your help badly. I did just as you said and all seams to work. But when I test it by adding two of the same product, the shipping price doesn't change. Even though the weights have been changed and are correct in my shipping profile. Don't seem to want to charge the customer extra for having two products. Please help!😱

Thank you so much for watching the video. So, I should do an updated video, but I will just provide you with the info. To correct your shipping here is what you can do. Go to the admin side of your Shopify store and click on the Printify product as if you are going to edit the product. Now, from there go down to the Variants section. All the way over to the right there will be button that says Edit. Click that. Now what you are looking for is the exact weight of the product. (Which for the notebook is differnt than the "guesstimate" the Printify chat attendant gave me. They told me to just use 1.5lbs for my weight. The accurate Prinify notebook weight is 0.6393lb) Once you find that out. You are going to use that to update your rate. Now go on over to shipping and delivery and go into the shipping profile you set up for that Printify product/s. Now, edit each rate accordingly: the 1st rate= 0.01lb TO (the wieght provided in you edit product section), 2nd rate= (the wieght provided in you edit product section)+.01 TO (the wieght provided in you edit product section)x2, 3rd rate= [(the wieght provided in you edit product section)x2]+ .01 TO (the weight provided in you edit product section)x3, and so on. I personally stoped there because if a customer purchases more than 3 of that same product with the correct shpping amount I will still make a profit if I do not incresae the shipping. Plus that is pretty high. So I think that's fair. THat's just my personal opinon. Hope that helps!

Nice, thorough video. Pretty annoying Printify doesn't have weights. I had to guess by trial and error using my own cart on item weights. Printful does a much better job with this.

I also had to do this for my shop. Can't believe printify doesn't have a better solution. The worst is offering 5-6 different size shirts and they all have different weights so you can't even bulk weight range them. The only accurate way would be to enter a new profile 5-6 times. I'm so frustrated and dont want to use printful for shirts ughhh

Thank you for the comment! I'm not sure if you meant to say "...and dont want to use printful for shirts ..."but, in this tutorial I am explaining how to set up shipping for Printify. Now, Printful... I don't have that problem. They are FULLY INTERGRATED! You don't have to set up shipping seperately! If you haven't used them for droppshing your custom designs you may want to try. But, they do have a higher product cost. However, their shipping=seemless. Quality is amazing! If you have any other questions just let me know!

What happens if you can’t get a reply quickly? With a monthly subscription, is it common to waste a whole month just trying to get weights of products? 😰

Righ,t so unfotunately this can happen😥. However, to be completely honest, what I suggest you do is possibly cancel your subscription for enough time to gather all the necessary info from Printify and just use Printify as a free account. A lot of products have the weight provided to you. However, for those that don't consider doing this. Worse come to worse, you could order a sample and weight yourself. i think im gonna buy a weight mesurer, buy a sample of each of my products i would like to sell. when i receive them i will weight each. then set it up

Also, it is a good idea to have a sample of each of your products on hand before selling so that you can experince what the customer will experince. The weight measurement makes it even more accurate! Great idea😁
