I’m loving this program already, it is breathing new life into photos taken with a camera that performs poorly in low light. It doesn’t always do a great job with the subject selection though so I need to figure that out.

That’s awesome! Glad it’s been revitalizing photos for you, it did the same for me. Yea occasionally the subject selection can be off though, I wish there was a way to manually mask subjects, 90%+ of the time it gets the subject right for me though

I use it on pretty much every bird photo that I process now. I do wish that they had left in the crop feature that one of the Beta versions had. I think it was 0.08. It just speeds up the process if I can crop early on. Then I am not processing parts of the image that I’m not going to use. I tend to import my images to my iPad Pro and then AirDrop the ones I want to process to my M1 MacBook Air. Then I take the finished Topaz images and send them back to the iPad Pro for whatever color and light processing I want to do. The retail version does seem to make smaller files of the same images than some of the Beta versions did so it is not proving to be a big issue. The cropping worked well in the Beta. Why remove it from the retail version? It’s a minor gripe though.

It does a great job except on the sparrow and owl photo, it makes it look like an AI "enhanced" it so the refocus sharpen so the denoting and cleanup works phenomenally. For someone that does prints I would steer clear away from the sharpening or refocusing since you'll be able to tell very quickly and that won't be good for a gallery showing

Two questions: Does Photo AI basically replace DeNoise and Sharpen? Does it run as a plug-in in CS6?
@officialwilder
@officialwilder Год назад
Yes it is a more advanced version of Denoise and Sharpen! And tbh I'm not sure what CS6 means haha

Thank you for this "tutorial"...I have this program and just started using it....I really do like it...I do need to understand what each section of this program is for....

Glad you can vouch for it!! It’s really awesome and pretty simple once you get the idea down. Denoising, sharpening, and enhancing built into a few easy options. Excited to see the results of it in your photos!

Thanks for this video👌🏻 I also own Photo AI since yesterday and it really does a great job. I'm just not quite sure about the workflow...how do you do it? Send the RAW to Photo AI and then edit it in Lightroom, or edit everything in Lightroom first, including the crop, and then finish in Photo AI? It would be great if you could write to me about your workflow 🙏🏻 Greetings from Germany

That's awesome! Yea you can do it lots of different ways, but personally, I edit the file up first and then have my final step as Topaz to do the last minute detail adjustments. It makes it easier for me to know what I want the detail to look like since I've already done the coloring and exposure properly. Hope it continues to work well for you!

@@officialwilder Thanks for your quick reply😊 I also found out that it's easier that way. When I run the RAW through Photo AI, the details aren't as obvious yet and that makes sharpening a bit more difficult. Thanks again for your answer and have a good time! Many greetings

I’m missing the four window comparison feature from the other programs. It will be good if Topaz adds that to this new version.

I agree. I prefer having more options/models to choose from. But I like Photo AI 's ability to work on denoise and sharpen at the same time - which is sometimes a tricky dance to get right.

Love both of the two comments here by Alexander and Charles! I agree with both 🙌🏻 that dance between Sharpen and Denoise is tricky which makes it super convenient in Photo AI

@@charlesdavis6371 The Gigapixel and Denoise models were never that useful for me as low resolution and low light (I believe) were always the ones that gave the best results. Sharpen AI in my experience was always used to correct user error and never useful photos taken in proper settings, but it was still useful nonetheless at times. But the 2 I ever used were motion blur and out of focus. I'm gonna upgrade to photoAI and I doubt I'll ever have to use the old suite ever again. Not having to juggle the 3 will be really useful and it looks like it fixes the terrible masking it had. I'm hoping it runs a bit faster too as god, it is slow compared to DXO... The hardware acceleration is just really poor on it.
