Congrats to Chandler Kramer on his top 5 at the European Open! I met him at the Jonesboro Open when he was selling Lone Star discs at the fly mart. Super nice.
I follow A couple of these peoples channels, but Apollo is honestly one of my favorites. U keep it to the point, not a bunch of filler, and I trust ur reviews bc ur not turning things over w bad form and calling them Flippy like one particular channel involved in the creators cup who I won’t name. Keep up the great work, u got a good style going!
I certainly relate, I have a buzz, wraith, grace, shryke, nuke ss, undertaker, wizard, and leopard which are all widely used and probably not "underrated"
@@ApolloDiscGolf It is a solid disc with fade. Personally, I find Innova to be too inconsistent but it works for him. I bought a Resistor for as my meat hook. Trying it out tomorrow,
@@billherrera6386 yeah the inconsistency is a double edged sword! I personally like inconsistencies because it makes it easier to have my full lineup just one mold. Like my fairways I just have Teebirds, an overstable one, a hyzer-flip one, and a flippy one! But I can see why others don’t like it!
Favorite disc in my bag is my Kastaplast K1 Berg... But the one I'd save if my bag was on fire would be my slightly seasoned Z Zone. It's got about 10-20 extra feet now but still has decent stability. Underrated mold IMO is the Axiom Virus - Easy Hyzerflips, big turnovers, sweet rollers, and get out of jail shots.
Underrated disc? It's the Essence, every time! Everybody should have one. It's such a great disc to learn with as a new player, and the more power you develop it just becomes such an asset for low-ceiling turnovers and rollers. Plus, with the introduction of Meta and Vapor plastics to the mold, even more experienced players can find a stable Essence to suit their needs.
@@ApolloDiscGolf I have every plastic except Vapor (unless I get lucky later this week). If you want to hit a local course and see what it can do, let me know!
Great video! I love the Jokeri, too. I got a Drew Gibson tour series last year from Infinite and it is my favorite approach disc. I'll throw a Razorclaw Tactic or Zone or Ruin for my overstable approach needs but I can count on my Jokeri for straight-to-slightly-hyser shots. You can rip on it and it won't flip over while at the same time will not be a meathook. I also have to say my favorite disc in my bag is a NEW C Line MD3. Incredible disc that flies forever and just follows how you throw it. If it turns over that means I turned it over. If it hysers out too much that means I hysered it out too much. It is my beautiful child. One last shoutout to the Verdict. I have a 2021 Chris Clemons Lucid Verdict and that thing is a terrific, overstable mid. For an underrated disc, I gotta go with the Terminal Velocity Ursus. 6 speed, flat, overstable mid that you can just crank on. Has some glide to get some distance but will always fade out. It replaced the aforementioned Verdict in my bag.
Cool question😀 My favorite disk is my 150 gram Innova Mamba that I think is done in Gstar plastic. It can be thrown under stable and stable. I love when it flies in an s curve. Most under radar disc is probably the Innova Caiman in a Star Plastic. You learn it’s fade on a backhand and you can depend on it’s consistency. Honorable mentions: Sune Sport Cumulus since it skips less and can be thrown with reliability. Yikuns CRoss bow since it can be thrown for short distances without altering stroke form. Yikuns Claw when you want a floatier and straighter approach disc.
My most underrated disc is a westside discs sword. If you have about 300-350 feet of distance it will go farther and straighter than some like a destroyer. If you can throw a little farther you can do lots of hyzer flips and turnovers.
The River is definitely great! there are so many good Lat64 discs that have just been forgotten because they have so many good older molds, and in general, older molds just get forgotten, even when they are great! like the river!
Brooo literally the only disc from Prodiscus that i use is the Ultrium Jokeri and wow i didn't even know that someone in the States even knew what it is. It is a great stable putter from Finland and i love it. Not my main putter but very good for some situations and approaches.
Absolutely! The more I use it the more I love it! It’s just so good! I use it on almost all my approaches or even any tee shot under 300 I can just put a lot into it and not worry about turning on me! Just goes laser straight with a touch of fade when thrown full power off the tee! Such an underrated disc!
@@ApolloDiscGolf Absolutely agree, it's just sooo underrated.. But do you know if they make the discs in the States or are the Prodiscus discs just exported from Finland? Mine is made in Finland
@@jereschr They should all be made in Finland. I think it's just harder to find in the states because Prodiscus just isn't that big in the states currently. But they are all made in Finland! At least that's what mine say!
Yeah! I love how most everyone's go-to discs were all understable discs! I think that says a lot! So many people are just concerned about beefy stuff when the Understable discs are probably the best weapons in people's bags!
Glad someone said the Sapphire! Definitely overlooked since most of them are lightweight and it's marketed towards beginners, but very useful disc! Mine would be; Favorite: my Connor O'Reilly Compass, most overlooked/underrated: VIP Ice Tursas!
My favorite mold is the undertaker but my favorite disc in my bag is my wizard. It's SSS and while I feel gateway is consistent enough that it's replacable but this particular one gives me so much comfort. If I lost my bag I would save the winter wizard. The most underrated disc in my bag is the gateway prototype 46. Although if we are talking about PDGA sanctioned discs it would be the westside warship. The rest of my discs are widely used and certainly not underrated.
Yeah, Wizards are such great discs! I keep going back and forth with Wizards in my bag! I am tempted to just completely switch back to them! I can't decide though... Lunas are just SO straight! And what does the Prototype do?
My favorite disc is my first Zone, Get Freaky CryZtal FLX. Been beating it up for over a year and a half now, and essential to my game. The most underrated disc in my bag is a Jawbreaker Buzzz. I know, how can a Buzzz be underrated? The Jawbreaker plastic has a really nice grip, beats in to get a Buzzz hand-feel to fly like a Meteor/Sol, and glides further than my Z Buzzz.
Great idea Apollo. Links were a great idea as well as this video as a whole. I am interested in trying a f2 and D3 and then I need to get an overstable mid. Maybe a Distortion or Mango. But also I want to try a texas ranger and reactor. Gosh. so many discs to get.
Thanks! And the Distortion is definitely more of a short approach disc rather than a mid-range! think Zone like disc... So if you are wanting more of a mid-range than the Mango might be a better option! Although I have never thrown a Mango... But if you are wanting a short, overstable, approach disc then the Distortion is a great option to consider!
@@ApolloDiscGolf Do you know if the Distortion is more or less overstable then the A2? I just got 2 A2s so I will be throwing those a lot. I have a tactic that I really like. The A2s seem a lot more overstable then the tactic atm. I just got them a few hours ago. I had a method from discmania that I liked but then it beat in and didn't seem overstable anymore. I think I might like the mango to replace the method. I think. Man! so many discs that I need to get my hands on. My wife is going to kill me lol
Thanks to Reid for giving props to the Core. Never thrown it, I just appreciate older Latitude molds getting recognition. The Pirate or SPZ2 is the most underrated mid ever.
@@ApolloDiscGolf They do, But very much over-shadowed by the Destroyer and Wraith. It was the first Distance Drive I ever got and if I ever lose it, Im making a trip to the store to get one.
Favorite disc: FAF Glow Gator 🐊 Underrated disc: AGL Baobab. It’s not for everyone but it does amazing super incredibly overstable things inside 200ft.
@@ApolloDiscGolfyou might have heard of a stego. The Baobab is a beadless version of the Stego. Also it’s easier to find in premium plastic (alpine). You could do a whole video on just this type of disc. There’s not much out there about it but it’s super unique. Think berg but ultra beefy. Zones, harps, pigs, etc don’t come close in stability.
The Innova SL and MVP Amp are both out of production… but damn imo they were so underrated. My favorite disc right now is a blue wraith. Most underrated in my bag is the prodigy F7
@@ApolloDiscGolf that amp is/was the bee's knees. Coincidentally, Lat 64 makes an overmold disc that's almost identical, and it's named the Bryce (after the National Park)
Favorite disc for me is probably a seasoned tournament harp I have. Most underrated has to be the Sorcerer. It's like a faster, slightly less stable sword and it bombs for me.
My sonic has always been underrated I think, I’ve always thrown Dx, but just got two halo ones that I just got. I wish so much it was still produced regularly!
@@ApolloDiscGolf it pretty much is! The guy that taught me how to play was PDGA #33, so he was a frisbee thrower, and watching him throw a sonic is a thing of beauty
@@ApolloDiscGolf It’s Especially for the people that throw about 250-325 range. They can get some nice easy distance shots. Small rim, travels fast 🔥 I honestly rather pull this disc out and throw it on a Hyzer for accuracy. Main thing it’s not too much direct headwind lol 😂
Thanks! I'm glad I got invited too, it was awesome. And the Roc3 is in Pro plastic! this particular one was a proto pro Roc3 before the McPro's were released! But I'm sure the currently Pro ones are just as good! I haven't thrown any of those though... I was just obsessed with these so I won't need to restock for a while 😂
I like it for everything up to 6 speed after that it's rough. Envy is the obvious starting point but think that's pretty much common knowledge these days (some Conrad dude made that disc kinda famous .)
Lol, I feel like I see a ton of people with all blue bags, but I don't really see many people doing that with other colors! It's just the blue people that are crazy enough to do it! lol
@@justwondering1926 Yeah, I am only good enough to forehand mids for shorter approaches, like if I am wanting something a little longer of an approach than my Zone or a little straighter.
@@ApolloDiscGolf worst part is trevor had just ran to the car for his stroller so he only missed the drive because he was doing some good fatherly duties.
@@deshonkretzer5179 Yeah that's what I heard! Also Robbie had no idea there was water or a stream there until afterwards when the spectators said it was probably gone! He said if he knew the stream was there he never would have thrown that because he knows how much he likes that disc!
Yeah, it's all a matter of perspective. And preference, some just like a shallow disc for forehands! and compared to the A3, the zone is definitely deeper! The A3 is pretty dang shallow!
Why is that Robbie C guy going out of his way to shit on Discraft? It's like those Innova fanboys back in the 90s and early 2000s calling it Discrap....cringey af. There is no disc the Buzzz wants to be, you goober.
