In its Tiger 2/3 version is a very useful ground attack plane, and a ove all it has the least expensive operative cosas,and needs nnot too long runways to operate!! Great airplane my second choice!! Behind the F16!!!!....

Hear me out, when the F-15 came out, the thing was also hated, also a punching bad and for similar reasons to the f-35 (too expensive, considered unreliable, radar was considered too complex to be practical etc.), yet now it's considered to be arguably the best fighter jet ever created. Maybe the F-35 won't be legendary, but i think something similar to the F-15 will happen. People just love to hate on new planes because they don't know the first thing about how military aircraft are developed.
@@spitfire3032 yeah and it’s also relevant that the F-35s power comes from its sensor suite and sensor fusion rather than manoeuvring characteristics (which are still good) so it’s hard for ordinary people to understand why it’s powerful as you first need to have insigjt into modern combat
Only thing going for the tomcat was the AIM-54 Phoenix. The airframe itself was a mechanical nightmare and ultimately failed to last. The F-22 is very cool but unfortunately Biden wants to spend his taxpayer dollars on sniffing more children over re-activating the raptor contract
F-104 all the way! The only plane that can cut you standing still. Although I have a soft spots in my heart for the F-16 for practically’s sake and the F-15 as the top dog.
