There's a meme about Shane being for the people convinced "I can fix him!" but what I like about Shane's story is that you don't fix him. You give him a little support and then he realizes it's time to fix himself. He takes his ass to therapy, he gets himself hobbies, he starts investing in Jas and Marnie's happiness. We don't know his whole backstory but the hints we do have are dark enough to send anyone spiraling. It takes a hell of a lot to pull yourself out of that place, and while I wish he was written a little more mindfully in regard to alcohol, I also appreciate that it's never implied that his depression is cured overnight or that the farmer is the one who "fixed" him. All of that being said I'd drop his ass in a heartbeat if Robin ever got divorced.
I'm not married to Shane but I love his attitude once he gets rehabbed, I would complain about his shitty room but let's be honest, my room is a total mess too, so i love that dude. 🦆
This may be one of the few, if not the ONLY "what your stardew spouse says about you" video that DOESN'T call Elliott pretentious or snobby or have some kind of bad faith criticism of his 10 heart event and I feel like your description of people who like and marry him is so spot-on! Nearly every Elliott fan I know (myself included) is incredibly passionate and creative. Hats off to you!
I'd say that people who like Elliot are very passionate and romantic. Not just as in romantic love, but the sentimental, artistic sort of romantic as well.
Finally, a respectful take on Alex lovers 😭😭😭 I was so tired of hearing "If YOU like ALEX then you probably got BULLIED by somebody who LOOKS LIKE HIM" over and over again. Alex really is a sweetie who puts his whole heart into everything he does. He's a very passionate and troubled boy and I'm glad to see him getting a little more appreciation these days.

He won’t throw you a gridball because your “weak” cause ur a girl - this is different to the male farmer as he says that you don’t seem the type to play gridball, so I won’t throw it to you 2. The Elliott one is so relatable! I’m on my first playthrough and been in love with Elliott. I’m waiting till spring came so I could propose! Finally someone does a respectful take on Elliott and not calling him creepy or pretentious 🎉

Honestly as an Elliot enthusiast, thank you for not calling us either ‘dramatic’, ‘theatre kid’ or ‘Wattpad/AO3 reader’ (even though I fit two of those categories but shhh). I chose Elliot because I enjoyed his character, gotta admit, at first when I played SV, I thought he was LONEY ugly XD. But after playing the game more and learning more about his character (through videos on youtube) I started to enjoy his character and that he likes to write poems and make them into a living. It’s something similar to me, I like to write stories for fun but I also do think I’d like to make it into a living, or at least maybe a book illustrator since I like to draw, and I just find it easy to connect with him :D. Good to see a ‘What your Stardew Valley spouse says about you’ video that doesn’t diss at least one of the spouses
The description for Harvey is 100% true at least for me I chose him because despite the fact that he is anxious, he remains calm and enjoys his passion outside of his work, he is someone who is quite simple and attentive (even if he only talks about medicine almost constantly these ends of sentences always say that we matter to him and I find that cute) there is no complication with him from the start He is nice and literally only asks for cups of coffee and he loves planes ( I also have model airplanes😂)
From the start I fell in love with sebastians smile and wanted to see it as often as I can. He still is the only spouse I ever chose. Except for being roommates with krobus.

There's nothing quite as sexy as someone who has stability and enjoys their hobbies. My sister loves Shane, and ngl, your description for that sounds pretty accurate for her to the point that it made me a little emotional. I think we see fragments of ourselves in the characters we're drawn to, and that just makes it all the more special.

The ending, I can not!!! 😂 This was so refreshing in comparison to other videos in that vein. As someone who genuinely loves Elliott, Haley and Shane, I'm sick and tired of people unnecessarily hating on them or people who like them. Your commentary here was very well thought out and spot-on. Personally, I love giving every single one of these NPCs a shot at one point since they deserve it and it's so interesting to me as a longtime player and lover of this game to follow their routes. I was going to go for leah but i am starting to fall for emily since she always says i should be careful at the mines and always says she wants to come help at the farm if she had more time. Also the bird thing was just so cute that she rescued him!
I normally have multiple spouses in the following order: Sebastian, Abigail, Hailey, Elliot, the wizard (expanded), the pink haired girl (expanded) and Krokus (Krokus varies depending on my playthrough) Edit: I meant krobus idk why auto correct did that, also I forgot about Leah. She's usually before the pink haired girl
I always liked harvey and wanted to marry him eventually, but after persuing him up to 10 hearts i sort of realized hes kinda borning and decided to go for krobus instead :/

My favorite spouse's are Hailey and Eliott idk why but the other feel either a little to young for my taste (like sam or Abigail), better as friends (like Shane or Emily) or are just bland (like Harvey and Maru). I don't hate anny of the spouse, but we can agree that a lot of them kinda stop with their life after you marry them and juist become a stay-at-home parents

@@sodorart it’s not subjective to think Shane lovers need help. If you want a partner that is constantly relying on your help to heal them, then you need help, or at least to reevaluate what you’re really hoping for.
