So important! We can often get lost in trying to impress or worried what others might think. Even what I liked 10 years ago isn't the same as now or what I might like in 10 years time. If YOU like it today and you can afford it, then buy it and enjoy it!
My favorite part of these videos, along with Mrs. MWC, is getting to see someone who is properly excited by and about watches. Passion is an underrated trait.
This is possibly, if not certainly, the most entertaining watch-oriented RU-vid video ever. This is an absolute must see by all so-called watch enthusiasts. My highest compliments to the mad watch collector.
I won the Khaki King from your show!! And you’re right lol! I have narrowed my collection down to two pieces and have been happy for going in 2 years lol.
I think its about time you did a whole episode describing how you made all of the little snippets, links, and intro music to your videos, I would like a deep dive on each one please!
Great topic. My Seiko Tuna SBBN049 is me doing cosplay for an episode of Homeland in which I'm an actor playing a special-ops fighter. All the glory with no real risk to my life. I need an intervention.
I want a watch that always tells the correct time and will survive anything that might happen to it. So Japanese, steel or Titanium with metal bracelet, radio controlled and solar powered. Casio, Seiko, or Citizen it is
😂😂 Your good lady’s comment on the Mudmaster was somewhat accurate.😅I have six, including the exact model featured here (which I’m wearing today oddly enough), and in truth I never use them to their full potential. It’s the look, the build, the beastiness, the pose? Either way I don’t care, I just love ‘em, love G-Shock. Great video mate, thanks. 🤘🏻😎
Many thanks, Russ You are great as always as well as your beloved wife. From now on, you are also my watch therapist. Very professional one . With love and huge appreciation Nizar
We have very similar tastes. Got me latest G shock square cos of you. Also my green Willard cos of you and TVG. Stop it! Now I’m looking at zero west as I love the military connection. Congratulations on the sponsorship. Keep up the great work.
Just wanted to let you know that the Original Square is part of one of my earliest defined memories. I remember laying in a loft in the Cayman islands when my mom and I gifted that watch to my dad for his birthday. I was 4 and I think it was 1985. I always have referred to that moment as one of my earliest vivid recollections, it's been with me my whole life. I remember him going through the booklet and showing me all the functions and I'll never forget the gold buttons, as he later got GShock with silver ones and I thought it looked more modern because of it, but never seemed to suit my dad the same way. Also, your wife nailed it.
99% correct about me and my Speedmaster. Everything but the macchiatos. "What The Wife Said" may be the funniest bit on RU-vid. Keep up the great work.
I'm a Speedy type person. I love all that space history stuff. Although I didn't have a spare 7 grand knocking about so I bought a Bulova Lunar pilot white panda dial instead. I know it's divisive but it's a beautiful looking watch with a great story behind it.
Like you l bought the Bulova lunar pilot on product launch but the itch for the Speedy finally caught up with me two years ago and luckily aquired a master crono. Stick with the itch , you never know and one day you might hopefully own one 😉
When i see someone wearing The Arnie as their Seiko choice or the classic 1983 G-shock square i know they know their stuff. Something with heritage, cheap, and cool toolwatches.
Love your reviews dude. I’m a huge Seiko fan. Started with the SRP775 and never looked back. I guess I liked the fact it matched my two tone wedding ring. Out of all the watches I’ve owned I always find myself going back to my Seiko. Such a comfortable watch to wear. Mad watch collector fan for life
i agree with you on vintage watch with the service hassle and frankenwatch . i had the seiko turtle 6309 but sold it and bought the re-issued srp777j . No regrets and a daily beater watch
Great video Russ! Your videos got me through some pretty hard times, as these last few months have been quite difficult. Learning about watches really took my mind off of things. All is better now, but your passion for watches and entertaining format helped a lot. Cheers mate.
I have at least 80 watches, from IWC, Rolex and Omega to Hamilton, Seiko, and Tissot to Casio, Sekonda and (yes) SKMEI, so presumably I have a serious multiple personality disorder.
*I am currently wearing a Certina DS Super PH1000M. What it says about me is I need stronger specs as I can hardly read the time. What it says about Certina is they do well with their retro classics, but should have updated the handset, as readability is terrible due to lack of contrast on the orange dial version. I love it but can only really wear it in good light. otherwise I am straining 😢
In my experience, no one wearing military style watches was in the military At least in my country everyone in the military wears g shocks or smart watches, which are better indicators of military service here Personally whilst I love both my g shock and smartwatch, I only use them for physical activities or workouts as personally the last thing I want to be reminded of is my military service when I'm at home (same reason I won't wear green)
@@THEMADWATCHCOLLECTOR haha I know they are very popular in some countries but in mine someone wearing any watch at all is a very rare sight And by military I was referring more to pilot, diver, field watches etc as opposed to gshocks which as jory puts it, are the modern field watch
MWC! I love it, bold honesty, “keep the algorithm going”, you’re the best! You helped me get into watches and appreciate wearing what you love! Great video 😂
My most worn watch is a Seiko ssc813, I love that its always set and doesn’t need winding, I love that its solar, I love that its a little bit sporty but a little bit smart to wear for work and I also like that it looks a bit like a daytona but costs a fraction of the price so I dont have to baby it
Currently on me wrist is a Casio G-Shock Gulfmaster GWN-Q1000MC. It's quite large but fits me 6'2'' frame. I also understand how to use every single function the watch offers. Cheers mate!
Both you and your lovely wife hit it pretty head on. I have a vintage Speedmaster and I am very much how you described. I also have a vintage Submariner and it was passed down to me by my father. I completely agree with what you said about buying watches "for you". Buy what you like, don't be a trend chaser or buy something because someone tells you to. Buy what you like, you don't need to make excuses to others for your decision(s). Thanks to you and your lovely wife for another outstanding video, keep up the great work mate.
As someone that likes to hike and camp and served, I always wore gshocks, field watches and divers that are understated. Just picked up a 36mm two tone Hamilton masterpiece (date just homage) on a jubilee and sometimes it does cross my mind what people perceive me as but than I think, what does it matter 🤷♂️ I know who I am and I love this watch. Plus everyone has layers!
Oh wow, being sponsored by the great Zero West is incredible! Well done! This video is really interesting and made me think about my own collection and what Mrs MWC would say about it 😆
Fantastic video Russ and Mrs. MWC! Love seeing the lighthearted content for sure. So, by request, I did a wristwatch check - Seiko SKX007 - Yup, that about sums me up as a person, haha! 🙂
Saving up to buy an Invicta bolt for the wife is just incentive to watch another video. I think I would watch a channel or maybe perhaps a montage of what the wife said lol
As a PRX owner your wife is 100% correct. I am a pretty boring programmer boi and I don't enjoy being the centre of attention. I just want a nice watch that I enjoy that isn't loud or too expensive
Wow!!!! You got me picked with the Casio calculator watch. I wore me for years (silver stainless steel with metal band) ….now I wear a Tissot T Solar Connect (orange) and also a Seiko King Turtle Manta Ray Well Done MWC😁
More of these please. I would love to see one with brands personally but these are awesome and fun addition too, Russ!! Keep doing what you do. Oh also...my personal take on those who wear Bell & Ross: Bell & Ross is for people who loves flying and planes so much that they would love to see something that reminds them of an airplane dial whenever they look on the wrist. And you would have no complaints if you get a chance to wear an entire flight panel on your wrist. You also secretly admire IWC pilot watches and hope someday you can get one of those too in the future.
I guess for me, being a Libra, I like things in balance. Some very nice fairly expensive watches and some nice but affordable watches. Great video. Have a great day!
i would watch a 20 minute video of you reading your wife's analysis of watch owners lol. please do another "what your watch says about you video," this one was great!
The Invicta Bolt is an amazing watch. Extremely fashionable built well. If it wasn't , so many people wouldn't have bought it. Taste is subjective to each person.
Casio Calculator: Someone Smart; someone who has a technical or scientific job. Perhaps a math teacher at middle school. Omega Speedmaster: Desk jockey who wishes they lived a more adventurous lifestyle. Probably never took a swim in anything more dangerous than the public pool. Khaki King: Practical, no nonsense kind of person; Perhaps even a minimalist or ex military. Rainbow Daytona: No Comment. Would love to know what others think when they see someone wearing a Casio AE1200. That's what I've had on my wrist for the past month. Cheers Russ and family
My watch: early generation Timex Ironman. What it says about me: Frugal, no-nonsense, worn-out jeans-and-t-shirt kind of person. Doesn't like a lot of fancy stuff/drama, just wants to get it over with, so I can get back to things I care about.
As a wearer of a mudmaster, I can tell you that your wife is 100% correct. I’m the kind of guy who wears the mud master and my expensive leatherman on a dog walk “just incase”
Great video as always Russell! Your wife knocked it out of the park with the Tissot PRX description 😂 That’s one of my favorites and I am Mr. Middle-of-the-Road and a play it safe kind of guy!
Tissot. Three great watches and 100 safe and predictable ones. Oddly, the three that are outstanding have their better quartz movement, not their automatic ones.
You nailed the Speedster enthusiast. I drive my wife crazy with my OCD habits and I hate to spend money on thing that tank in value. But I'm not into watches for investment.
I'm wearing a Casio DBC-32 calculator watch right now. I guess I'm just ever-so-slightly more fancy than the CA-53W-1CR enjoyer, but we both know what we're about - having a good time on the cheap haha.
I looked down and im wearing a Chris Ward Trident Pro 600 with the black bezel and white dial. Yeah, with CWs name on it. No namby-pamby Trident 300 for me.
@@THEMADWATCHCOLLECTOR I am quite loud, brash and opinionated. Ironically one thing I like about the PRX is its not too showy. Zero West are lovely but wayyy out of my price range!
Super cool video! And thanks for introducing me to the Hamilton khaki king. This fits my taste precisely. It’s now on my wish list as a second watch for my single watch collection, to team up with the Seiko SSK001.
A little contradiction on me I'm wearing my Khaky king right now but I also have a couple of G shocks and even a Royale in my collection. PD. Love your videos.
Omega Speedmaster owner linked to James Bond fandom? Out of left field association there for me - as an owner of one. lol Fun video - very much enjoyed this approach.
Can you have a wife reacts to the Orient Bambino? For many of us, its the most attainable dress watch and what one would choose to wear on more formal occasions.
It's a nice affordable minimalistic dress watch, but there's nothing really special about it except the price/quality ratio, right? I think the person that wears PRX can perfectly have this on his wrist instead.
@zibel5007 I feel it's very special. The quality is absolutely insane, I don't wear other watches with a suit because this one is so good. It has great winding and nearly aspect of the design is well thought out. Plus it is very thin. I looked for watches up until the $500 price range but nothing really stood out to me like the Bambino.
My favorite watch I own is either my grandpas seiko or my Casio but the one I tend to wear the most is a complete pile of junk and I want it to break cause then I can wear better ones.
Watching this has me laughing , I’m a huge seiko fan have a quite a few , then i you brought up the Casio databank ( wish im wearing ) then brought up the omega speedmaster which is my most expensive piece all your descriptions where spot on 🎉
I love this channel and have been watching since quite early times.........so this comment is purely tongue in cheek. Watches are inanimate objects and incapable of saying anything. Good fun all the same though.
Why is it so hard to believe Invicta owners don’t actually wear their watches to show off to other people? Is it so hard to believe that some people want to look down at their wrist & see something unequivocally different?
Being that you like the Tudor BB58 so much (and for good reason in my opinion,) have you ever looked at a Certina DS Action Diver 38mm? it has some similar looks to the BB58 but does have a date window at 3 o'clock that breaks the symmetry, they were Established in 1888, their DS system dates back to either the late 50's or 60's, they are ISO certified... and the watch is very similar in size to the BB58 but it has crown guards, they are part of the Swatch group, so ETA movements (Powermatic 80 in this case,) and they are much cheaper than Tudor. Your take on that one could make for an interesting review. Or their DS Phantom... or simply Certina in general.
Don’t be upset but I ordered a Pagani Design gasp… i’m surprised too but they have a fantastic homage to the Calatrava 6007G that is actually a bit of a spec monster for only $70 on Ali right now
1:23 Wearing a military style watch means you have good punctuation?!! Who knew? (Probably shouldn't use three punctuation marks at the end of a sentence, but then I'm wearing a dive watch).
