Lost my grandparents (who raised me), followed by my divorce (10 years marriage)....then near to death motorcycle accident (only broke 7 ribs, cervical spine and skull)...I have to say that nothing gets through my skin any more...took a while but I finally feel like I am in control of my life. There is a reason for everything good or bad and it's all about if you can see the positives....Whatever Doesn't Kill You Makes You Stronger - TRUE....Leo you are awesome by the way!
@Vince Deschuyffeleer: Don't be too lazy to experiment. Try it yourself and see what kind of results you get. Your own opinion is the only one that matters. Personally, I hate cold showers. I love super hot showers, they energize me a lot. I'm like a lizard, I need warmth to start moving, hehe. But I am hypothyroid, so that's why. Masturbation and porn are awesome. If you're trying to build up motivation to get a girl though, you might consider doing NoFap cause it will force you to actually go out and hit the field and be extremely direct with girls -- which is generally good. You gotta find what works for you, so go try them both out. Do a month of NoFap and 2 weeks of cold showers and see how you feel. But there much more important habits you should be building, like meditation.
Actualized.org Dude hi :) i have a problem in my relationship , well i'm a bit young but i think you being experienced you could help me , could you add me on skype cause i don't want my sitation to be pubblic, if you want to add me on skype i'm : ucihaasasukee
Ive always thought It does make you stronger as long as you realize it! You have to learn from that certain bad experience. i use my terrible childhood to fuel me to be a better person. I got depressed from those experiences until i realized that its all a phase or a LEARNING EXPERIENCE FOR THE FUTURE.
Great video. The bigger the trauma, the longer it takes to recover. This is important to understand to keep focus on recovery. Simultaneously it is worthy to look for healing activities (sports, meditations, socializing, journaling) to speed up the process.
I think, this phrase refereces to one's psychology and how you can convert negative situations. if your psychology is positive, a bad thing that would happen to you might become a good thing because of your thought that "What Doesnt Kill You Makes You Stronger", you would then go on and use that experince in order to gain your goals. in the other hand a pessimistic person would get stuck and become a victim of an event that maybe he is even responsiblle for. soon, im going to the army, its a part of my self actualization path which im developing
I have certain theory regarding that. I think there are two types of experiences: some bad experiences if they are harmfull don't make person stronger but rather are destroying certain part of character and that is not always the part of the character that should be getting rid off -for example it can make a person emotionaly colder which is not always apriaciated. There are also bad experiences which could make people stronger but this is in my opinion under one condition: if the person expected to experience those and was very scared of it. It can be also that person wants to perform high risk action in order to get positive outcome with also bad consequences as risk. Often fear is overestimated and than when the bad outcome comes across person can realize it is easier than expected to take it. This alows to grow and broader the scope of future actions. This makes character more brave.
Well... one problem with this theory is that there are many people who suffered great unexpected horrors and yet used them to grow stronger. Accident victims and such. The thing is, all experiences are just experiences. They have no inherent meaning. This means that whatever you believe about an experience will become the meaning you assign to it. So if you think all unexpected negative experiences are damaging to your psyche, that will become true for you. But if you believed that literally every experience, no matter how bad, has positive value, you will be able to assign positive value to it and that will be your new reality. This is possible because reality is devoid of meaning.
Actualized.org This was not about me but more observation of others. I know some people who have changed themself, I think if asked they would still say they are stronger now but in fact birnging this as a positive is a little bit dummy and has to do with some kind of self protecting psychological mechanism.
besides. i agree with the statement that it makes you stronger 100%. i've been knocked down many times tbh. its really rough to get back up but in the long run it makes you alot stronger. though sometimes i wish life would give me a break cuz sometimes its really really tough and feels like this is the end of the road. but eventually everything seems to settle down no matter how tough it was. time heals so to speak. :)
Hehe, actually I shaved way before that. And then the day of the trial I was pretty lazy and said, "Fuck this! I'm gonna go in all scruffy." Apparently it didn't hurt my case too much cause I won! :)
Hey.. I agree on it. But i feel that the tough stuff kinda make you more like numb toward other tough stuff from the same category. Do you think is it really strength and grounded feeling or is it simply just the numbness? or both? thanks

My abortion was so long ago I can barely remember myself at that point. At the time I thought it ruined my life since everyone judged me. But I realized years later that it helped me reach the awakening I needed in order to know the truth. Now I can relate to many more circumstances and people that I would have judged if I had never had that experience to begin with.
To me, this is the best video of yours. Yes there are hard times but the most important thing is to keep moving on. I am currently going through some really difficult time in my life but i am sure i am gonna pull through with better results. " This Too, Shall Pass " !!
Key takeaway at one point down the line you will reap the benefits. And yes sometimes it takes a few years but at one point you really get over it yet that much wiser from the experience.
The other day I was on Facebook and I saw someone I went to high school with post about how she doesn't believe this old saying. She said that she thinks that bad experiences just make you "angry and sad" and that "strength comes from good things like friends, family and the satisfaction of hard work." Reading this, I just thought what a shame it was to think that but then I saw that she got 100+ likes! This makes me both wonder how many people actually think this and also makes me so grateful I'm not one of them. I see so much benefit to putting myself in difficult situations that I now purposely do it all the time for the learning experience. A few benefits I've witnessed in myself are resilience for future experiences, greater appreciation for life, a more fun-loving personality who doesn't take things so seriously, a drive to improve myself and more. At the very least, you can at least try to learn how to avoid a similar situation from occurring in the future.
I could not be so agree with your words. I've been through many hard times, and believe me, if you have been there you know what hard means. That kind of situations help you to appreciate the suffering as a motivational and growth opportunity when you really think that is the end and things are gonna end worse and worse. This for me is like a sign to be aware of the change you have to deal with. It's not easy but when things start to put in place, you appreciate the bad moments, and you see they came for a reason, to make you move on and start doing instead of thinking too much. Thank you for sharing your experiences with the world. Stay cool!
be had such a bad day at court will make you stronger. I went thrugh fricken court dates as well and feel sorry for you. Sorry for feeling sorry, but I love you. You are strong enough Leo : -) so I wish you the best - kasiia , your subscriber
I just want to say, thank you for all your vids. I always though discipline is like a limiting of creative energy (being a party-pooper), but your videos show me that discipline is like an atomic arrangement (stone vs diamond), which can be beautiful and strong. Quality work man! I just have one request: Could you make a vid on pumping your emotional state and state management? I'm really fascinated by this topic but I can't make it "organic" it always seems like "fake" thing. Peace.
Actualized.org I'm not sure. I just thought it will give me an edge in communication. But yea, your vids are awesome. Lots of action to be done on my part before going for that "edge" lol. All the best!!
Soman Rama Doesn't sound like you have a valid reason, hence why you feel inauthentic doing it. There are many great communicators in the world who aren't like Tony Robbins. Maybe your authentic style is more subdued?
Wow Leo..interesting topic! I have a co-worker who is only 22 and travelled all the way from China to India to work here as an intern teacher. Amazing experience for him. Then, he wants to do his grad studies in the US. I told him that immigration is different from just travelling. Most ppl are too afraid to leave their own backyard. But, these are the things that make you very strong in life if you pull through.
Immigration is better than travelling and passing through, esp if it's a place (or country) that is not where you grew up. You'll start to understand the place for real. You will not get this experience from reading a book or talking about it with someone. Of course, do your research first.
