This proves that number ones dont really mean anything. People that stick around tend to have a fanbase that really supports the artist. Also artists that have songs that's very 'them' sounding. I have never heard anyone say they are a huge FloRida fan.
exactly! nicki minaj only got her first number one 2 years ago (which many people were making fun of), yet she has been able to stick around for over a decade because of her fans. that's what really counts.
Flo Rida I feel like is one of those 2000’s and 2010’s hitmakers that fell off tremendously, didn’t really have any fanbase, and didn’t have any personality that showed through the music. But he was still a hitmaker, with memorable bops that ppl still remember.
Don’t front that man had BOPS for days. That apple bottom jeans song, the wild ones! He is literally the only rapper I’ve seen that’s managed to break out the way he did in EDM and pop music.
to clarify many slaves throughout history & today are paid tho, it's a misconception. Slavery is just when a human is property to a person/system and it's difficult for them to leave, sharecroppers are an example. This probably did take him down tho, because the conditions do share similarities to slavery
@@Thee_jamie_lee yep 🙂 look into it. Once Kesha filed that lawsuit he tried to threaten her in all sorts of ways to drop it and one was for her mom to remove herself as a writer otherwise they won’t get paid for the song
@@hughw2377 anyone can represent a country even if it’s not their home/birth country as long as they win the national selection. 2 American artists were with Bulgaria in 2018, the person representing Estonia in 2019 is Swedish, Eleni Foureira is Albanian born in Greece but represented Cyprus + there’s much more. They just don’t get noticed because most times they share the same features as the country they represent (skin, hair colour etc). I hope that helped xx
@Cold Sxmmer That’s the thing though, he had tons of top 10 hits during his run yet couldn’t build a fanbase or sell any full albums. Like Todd In The Shadows said in his Whistle review back in the day, “he’s the superstar that isn’t famous, he’s the guy that has the #1 song in the country yet wouldn’t be recognized if he was walking down the street”
@@Kevin-rg3yc That’s my point, the 3 artists I mentioned have massive, massive fanbases and are hugely influential yet no top 10 hits to their names, while Flo Rida has many top 10 hits yet no fanbase
If he comes out again, I hope he experiments with a new sound. Teenagers, college kids, and club goers have grown up and so his music needs to evolve as well. But yes, his music got the parties going undoubtedly. Such a fun era of music.
Todd in the Shadows made a point in his video on MC Hammer’s The Funky HeadHunter album. He said that, during his prime, Hammer was the ‘90’s Flo Rida: big hooks but mostly forgettable lyrics. With Hammer, everyone knows the sample of U Can’t Touch This and maybe the choruses of songs like 2 Legit 2 Quit and Addams Family Groove (both of which were actually bigger hits than U Can’t Touch This). With Flo Rida, you remember the choruses/hooks of songs like Low, Right Round, even I Cry or Whistle, but can anyone name any of the lines in the verses without looking them up on Google? It’s telling that Kesha, who sang part of the chorus of Right Round, ended up having the longer career than the lead artist of that song.
The difference though is that Hammer was a legit superstar who even had his own cartoon back in the 90s, while Flo Rida was just some guy that just happened to have a bunch of radio hits
Is anyone gonna address him literally not claiming his disabled son and the mother said Flo didn’t even look at the child in his eyes when signing support papers. He said some vile things about the son as well, of course he told the mother to not have the baby and he didn’t want the child but her body her choice but to talk bad about your own son whether you wanted to have him or not knowing he can’t stand up for himself is wrong…I honestly think that’s where things started to plummet for him… 🤷🏽♀️ but his music was also declining
He definitely is a shitty person but I don’t think that situation is relevant here. Woman don’t lay down by themselves and I personally feel like men’s opinion should matter. How you gonna force someone to do something they told you repeatedly they aren’t ready for. That’s not right . But that’s just my opinion
there was no escaping flo rida and pitbull in the 2010s. hip hop wasn’t gonna work for them, and they decided to go the pop route where the real money was at.
The fact that he represented San Marino in Eurovision and still ended up in one of the last places despite the song being a bop. The performance didn’t make justice to the song imo.
Yes but you have to consider this was a European audience watching in the year 2021 most of the contestants that go are usually local celebrities in their own countries and maybe even the ones surrounding them take hurricane who represented Serbia they were one of the most well known artists there and were known all throughout the balkans from Slovenia to turkey thats a lot of ppl who are going to know them and possibly feel more of an encouragement to vote måneskin who won the contest were worshipped in Italy years before it as one of their best bands with that skill and reputation they got their votes and won so how on earth would you expect an American, even a famous one for that matter to do good when he has to compete against that
His music is definitely nostalgic. Reminds me when I was younger and had a carefree fun image of the world. I checked in on him on a song he made a few years ago and it felt like an early 2000's music video with the song barely being actually his. It felt so dated. Also someone mentioned he doesn't want to see his disabled son and he said some vile shit about him
@@ChiliCheeseDawgz Oh and i also the song i was mentioning was that Sweet Sensations one he made that was sampling that song by Loleatta that has been sampled a dozen times
I probably got it why beyonce said this in her 4 era documentary -- People don't make album anymore, they just keep selling hits and if it flops, they sell another hit
Kind of sad he never did something to compensate Kesha as a thank you or something. Could've had her on another song and this time pay her fully and maybe let her shine a bit more on song/video. But hey, that's just me. He didn't need to do a thing since Kesha was already happy enough about it by having her voice on the radio.
He raggedy af in the business & personal life. The Florida man dgaf to speak out about his colleague (Ke$ha) despite the fact she jumped on a track that was a big hit. In his personal life he refuses to pay CS to his disabled child, his statements make it sound like it was the woman’s fault the child is disabled. Meanwhile, he makes sure to give $$$ to kids in hospitals for PR purposes…….
THANK YOU I just commented this. f him and his music idc if you wanted the child or not. The child did not ask to be here, it takes two to tango (unprotected). Not every woman can be paid off to not have a baby some women want to have the child it’s a different bond once they grow inside of you. It’s not like he doesn’t have the money to pay CS, the mother of the child said he barely pays medical expenses and just simple bills for the child like special education. His music is right where he needs to be, in the garbage
Other artists to do: 3OH!3 Olly Murs Iyaz Cascada Gym Class Heroes Far East Movement Timbaland Adam Lambert Hot Chelle Rae Alexandra Stan Cobra Starship Nico and Vinz MAGIC!
Dude, I know you know about Eurovision and so I was surprised you didn’t mention his shocking involvement with Senhit and San Marino. Flo Rida took the Eurofandom by storm when even rumors were going around about his involvement. They didn’t get the best result at Eurovision which shocked us too but perhaps the idea of seeing an American artist at Eurovision (again) turned them off. American artists at Eurovision has never been well received by the fandom.
The same goes for Jason Darulo, lots of hits but deffinetly still very unknown personally! Even BEP in there sellout years have the same M.O. with only Will-i-am and Fergie being highlighted and the other two (🤭) pushed to the side! Hey, they get to make money but live a normal life!
@@rao803 lmao. The funny think is as well is Jason spells it wrong too. It’s actually supposed to be Desrouleaux, but he changed the spelling so it would be easier to read.
Literally the only thing I know about Jason’s personal life is that he cheats on his partners, and that he hates to be called “Usher”. He’s been famous for a decade now.
He had a hit last year called Adrenalina with Italian superstar Senhit, which he competed in Eurovision with for San Marino, but I don't think it helped his career since Senhit outperformed him and everyone loves her now, he was a bit stale in comparison :/ it was nice of Senhit to do charity work though :)
I had to come back to this vid to say that I just went to a Flo Rida concert and it was great. Depsite him him being past his prime, and also him preforming at a small college, he had a lot of energy, engaged with the people who came to see him, and was all together a great show.
I just looked up his billboard stats. He was a wildly consistent singles boy from ‘07 to 2015. I just feel like he blew up before the advent of social media. Honestly I’d love to have the career he had combined with the low profile and not being hounded by millions of followers. He could retire nicely tbh.
Honestly, how could you not talk about Eurovision? I get that you are American, but damn. His feature in San Marino's song was iconic, even if it did not really give him success in the contest.
I mean, when i think of Flo Rida, its usually a good memories, bcz he is probably one of the most popular artists during his prime days n in most likeable time frame, late 2000s, early 2010s, I'm sad that his career fell off the cliff, but it was excepted
Flo Rida & Pitbull were DOMINANT on radio, iTunes & the Billboard Hot 100! Pitbull turned himself into Mr. New Year's Eve & hosting gigs, like the Hip Pop version of Ryan Seacrest or Mario Lopez! Flo Rida just became a bit more lowkey & signed Natalie La Rose!
Flo Rida was in Eurovision with Senhit. the song is Adrenalina. God it is fun song to sing. He represented San Marino which was kinda funny since he is from America. Flo Rida will come back for sure though
Flo-Rida is actually collaborating with a San Marino singer Senhit at Eurovision Song Contest last 2021 and they made it to the grand finals. The song is not bad though
Last year he was at Eurovision and when they announced him my brother was so confused on why he was there with San Marino... However I had NO idea of who he was 💀 Even after watching this video, I probably listened to some of his song but I can't recall them. But I have to say "Adrenalina" with Senhit was really good 🤷🏻♂️ It was one of my most listened song of 2021.

Thanks to this channel, I keep updated to all these artists.
The thing is the music your born into will never die… Like ever!! It’s your generations and the Artists connection! 80s music still played by those who where born and inspired by it.. Newer music will always be played with this generation I will always enjoy Low Wild One and Round Round because it’s my Generation no matter what year it is
Flo Rida had a show at Hard Rock Live Orlando like 5/6 years ago. My man was a cook for the food the banquet food provided for the show backstage & all the servers were coming back laughing that hardly any people were there, how it was sad mostly old people who were confused who he was than all his generations that topped him were just M.I.A 💯 Mighty have fallen 😔 really 🤬 sucks ke$ha didn't get her 💰 she deserves to be paid for that track
As a European I obviously know that he represented San Marino hopefully this video will tell me why... IT DIDIN'T... but honestly since he did I wouldn't get my hopes up for his return..... his music was always built with no personality...
She is??? I’m excited! She had a song called “Not Another Love Song” that I loved but people slept on it. I think she’s a classic case of a hit maker burning out and losing momentum. I feel like she took too long to drop more songs. Plus, I love Ella Mai 1000% but people have critiqued her for not having a personality. If you look at the “Don’t Waste My Time” music video, everyone was jammin and having a good time while she was demure and lowkey. Her team markets her as chill and laidback
gotta say as a fan of miami rap, flo rida was definitely a talented rapper. but he found that the pop rap route was more lucrative. if you wanna hear him spit listen to his verse on "bitch im from dade county" by dj khaled
I lost my mind when I saw Florida was at the 2021 Eurovison representing San Marino as a ft. Artist. Ya know, because when you think of San Marino you think of Florida 😅 ngl I like the song and brought me back to the 2010s
all i need is some goddamn entertainment after a long day of voice acting, & archeology studies for school. this video definitely cured me. thank you for taking the time to make this video. the funniest thing about me watching your videos is that I always have sushi with me. i look forward to watching your videos everyday! i love you!
I love Kesha, but seeing that she was so nonchalant about not getting paid was a little disturbing. I think she's an artist that really sees her music as a part of her, so she'll sing cause it's her passion, but I wish she had understood that the music industry is a BUSINESS. And she or someone close to her should've been business MINDED before she sang that song for free. Karma isn't gonna pay your bills or keep you off the streets or put food in your stomach.
I mean dude already has a fair share of hits, like it’d be cool if he came back, but we can always go listen to his already released hits that were absolute bangers.
Hy! I watch your videos for at least a year now and I always hope you will do a video on INNA the Queen of Dance Music. This was the perfect opportunity to mention her because Flo Rida did release a song in 2021 called SUMMER'S NOT READY and it was ft. INNA (it is their 2nd collab actually)!
I lived at the same building as this guy for over a decade. He’s a chill dude , always squadded . He certainly lives the way you’d expect . But always a decent quiet homey he’d give me a fist bump in the lobby .
I’m a huge Flo Rida fan and I’d love to see what he does with a more modern sound. All of us born in the early 2000s and late 90s who grew up listening to his bangers have grown up and a Flo Rida revival would be legendary
