The last time I saw Ms. Martin on the television screen was ER. They gave her a 'King's Exit'. No one would ever forget her character or her so 'they' did her a favor with this exit. Powerful exit for a talented performer.

Life Goes On was such an amazing and groundbreaking show that NEEDS and DESERVES to be available EVERYWHERE to stream. I loved Kellie Martin and her character Becca, who was smart, compassionate, and kind, so having her join the cast of ER a few years after LGO's cancellation was amazing. I never expected Lucy to die, especially how it happened. It was traumatic and so well acted. So excited for the LGO reboot on NBC, fingers crossed. I've been watching her career since Life Goes On. And Lucy was so amazing, and she made her a real person. That Episode makes me tear up still. And I must say Kellie is truly the girl next door.
Kellie was on the East Coast when she saw that episode of ER. She called her husband who was on the West Coast and told him to drive over to her mother's house and tell her to not watch the show.

It would have been traumatic for her Mom because of the loss of her younger daughter, too. Seeing Kellie's character losing her life like that on screen, just two years after losing Heather would have been simply too much, I suspect.
My favourite Kelli Martin movie is 'Hidden In Silence'. She was perfectly cast in a dang near perfect Made-For-TV movie. I'm glad to hear she is doing well.
I'm surprised that you didn't mention Mystery Woman and A Followup Hallmark Mystery Series that Kellie Martin was in - They're what I Remember Her Best In.
We need more shows like "Life Goes On". The entertainment industry has neglected for too long the disabled demographic pretending as if these people don't exists. We know show business is built upon escaping from reality at least for the duration of the program but to pretend there is no such thing as disabled people is patently ridiculous. The time has arrived for their stories to have a platform.
Awwwww Becca❤ I remembered Life Goes On. Such a good show. That was my introduction to Patti Lupone😊 I adored Kellie in Christy. She also played a girl name Angela in a Lifetime movie with Tori Spelling. I think it was called Death of a Cheerleader. Kellie was fabulous in that role. If you can find it, such a good watch. hey, what about her show on hallmark called “mystery woman”? i absolutely LOVED that show and really wish they’d made more of them. i wanted to get more of her backstory as well as philby’s (clarence williams III).
There have been many reasons cited for Kellie leaving ER. One was that her husband was on the East Coast and she no longer wanted a long distance marriage. Another theory was she was being moved out to make room to expand the new character Abby Lockhart (Maura Tierney).
