It was the first sitcom to beam the lives of working class Geordies into millions of homes across the country. It was 1965, and The Likely Lads - starring James Bolam and Rodney Bewes - completely changed the cultural landscape. As a result, these days the people and landscapes of the region are commonplace on tv and film. Despite being groundbreaking, the classic comedy - along with many others at the time - wasn't kept by the BBC. It's now more than half a century later, and there's been an unexpected discovery as Arts reporter Sharuna Sagar has been finding out.
