AU Fact Time: I know some might be confused over the harem bit in my OG animatic and this video goes over why it happened. It wasn't just for comedy purposes. Abel never goes out of his way to woo anyone. His story resonates with everyone and that's what makes the other angels so fond of him. And if he wants to, he'll go for it if someone is insistent (iykyk). Now, how does this affect the dynamic of the team? Not by much as ground rules are made clear: don't expect any relationship out of it. A surprisingly open minded arrangement except for the one time that one ground rule was briefly broken which caused a whole little drama. tldr: the other Exorcists aren't flirty just because they think he's hot (though that helps) More facts: +His hair covers one side of his face for a reason. The day he got killed was when he ceased to be the person he used to be. That unscarred side of his face is hidden because his innocence is gone. Seeing the other unscarred eye is rare. +Similar to how Angel Dust has Fat Nuggets, Abel has a cute lil lamb pet. +Everyone keeps talking about SCP 076. I haven't read SCP in ages and didn't bother reading 076 until you guys pointed it out. I wasn't inspired by it though I can see why people think so. 076 is apparently around 6’5 while 073 is 6’1? So that's what I'll make ‘canon’ from it: Abel is taller than Cain. And for good measure: Adam is shorter than both, Seth is Adam’s height and Eve is an inch taller than Cain. Hope that makes sense? +If you leave the Exorcists, you're not allowed to rejoin. No exceptions. As time goes on, this whole AU feels less like the Swap AU and more like it's own thing. I don't even know what to call it anymore. So that might affect things going forward. Ideally, I wish there was a cover of Whatever It Takes that was more fitting but alas, if there's no cover, I have to make do with the official version. Kudos to whoever guessed this plot point :)
I think it would be better to let the exorcist be made up of heave-born. Or at least mostly. Maybe they allow those who died join their ranks but a majority of its make up is the angels born in heaven.
It's kinda Ironic that Abel is so sad at the death of an exorcist but carmilla killed her to protect her children so he feels like she would had the exorcist killed them
It's very nice seeing the Exorcists in such caring light instead of just your typical faceless minions that they are in the show. Abel being kind to Vaggie was very heartwarming to see
This is actually interesting. Because we don't feel any sort of empathy towards these murder machines in the og storyline. Here this gives us something to feel bad about whikst also acknowledging that any sinner that is confront with one must A die or B kill them to defend themselves.
I love how the AU flows differently, it's more interesting to know more of this path. Especially how Vaggie had friends just like her and viewed Abel as a savior.❤
I like this version a WHOLE lot better than the original, it works so well with the overall theme and actually makes up for the background and depth that the cannon keeps ignoring
What's Charlie deal in this story, and does she even exist? Also, crack idea for A.U title: Sins of the father. It works well in this context, and if Charlie is a major character in the story, it would greatly mirror both sides of heaven and hell. Charlie wants to help redeem sinners due to her pure nature despite her family origins. Abel: A man who is driven by vengeance and heartbreak after losing his innocence due to his family origins. Both believe they're fighting for justice and they are to a degree, but they are lacking in greater insights due to each other bias, and that leaves them potentially causing more harm than good. This, in my opinion, really sells the idea to me. The show would have benefited greatly if it went this route in one way or another. Although at least we get this masterpiece.
Here's an idea, Cain takes the place of Lucifer in this AU. A powerhouse that has connections that Adam is reluctant to call on. I doubt he would call on actual Lucifer here still but a father-son interaction like between Charlie and her dad could work.

Seeing your AU and the original shows premise. I do wonder how one specific figure feels about the entire Extermination. And that someone is Archangel Azrael - The Angel of Death
Best as I can recall the Angel of Death only appears to *humans* as they die, so he might not care about the Extermination of souls condemned to Hell … or he may be oblivious to it because in the canon show Heaven was mostly unaware of it. (If I’m wrong about what Azrael’s role is in the Angelic Hierarchy please let me know)
I love this AU sm!!! I love how Able is so protective of the Exorcists, seeing as how a lot of them have been in a similar boat to him. Able bonding with Vaggie pretty much immediately is very adorable, and I'm looking forward to seeing more of this AU(and hopefully Able's pet lamb as well :3)
This AU is amazing: showing Abel and the Exorcists as a close-knit family who will now be *very* eager to avenge their fallen sister. Vaggie will be deadset on avenging her new family and if she’s anything like her canon counterpart (who was acknowledged by Adam as “one of his best girls”) then Hell had better start praying! I’ve been in love with your animatics since I first saw your Hell Is Forever AU, seeing Adam essentially taking the role of Charlie in (what I’m just guessing) is an eternal war between his two sons. Sure he might very well want to save Sinners who prove themselves worthy of redemption, but for me his main motivation is to heal the hurt in his own family. I like this au because well I do like Hazbin Hotel I feel like it makes total sense for exorcists to be mortals that were killed by sinners. I mean Charlie wants to redeem everyone like Angel Dust who we know suffers from abuse but then you have Alastor who killed/enjoyed it, and your like what about his victims? The show sadly never went that morally gray in season one maybe in season two but I doubt it
For a fun compare/contrast session, when Original Recipe Adam and Lute found the slain Exorcist, neither of them seemed to care about them in particular, reacting more like their prey had broken one of their toys. Abel seems... Well, we can all tell! Lust may be a lesser sin in general than Wrath, but you can't deny the latter's team-building effectiveness!
Well with how things are going now, I am Adam gonna still die but this time by taking a hit that was going for Abel. Last words probably gonna be "Save Them" and really screw with Abel. Even if their relationship ain't the best, thats still his dad and he saved his ass. Just what I'm thinking rn though.
I like how AUs involving the exorcist group of angels make them more noble in their intentions than with the original show. Adam in the OG is fun in his own jackass way (though why he is that way in a meta sense is something I would try to stray away from in my own writing), but we're talking about the white to hell's black, they should act more loving understanding and accepting than those in Hell! Abel is perfect to be the leader of the Exorcists than the OG's Adam. Loving the AU so far. Really making us root for who were intended to be the baddies. I wanna see Abel's belief for killing sinners challenged by Adam & Charlie (or a Hell resident equivalent to Charlie in this AU).
Who knows? Maybe later in Hellaverse canon, we’ll get to see Exorcists who start to question their beliefs after Hazbin Hotel season 1 and begin to show us that they’re more than mindless killing machines and fanatics (with Lute and surprisingly a small percentage of Heaven being the exceptions).
Interesting but I hope they don’t go *too far* with it. Check out Saffiro’s animatic for Cotton Candy: it shows a little kid holding a sign saying “thank u for avenging me”. I’m all for redemption if the person is a) genuine and b) deserving. I’m sorry but a child murderer should NEVER be redeemed 😒😒😒
It makes me wonder what Charlie and Lute are like here? I can still Lute still following and being friends with Adam, despite not entirely believing the whole redemption stuff. Maybe have her be a former exorcist who ended up leaving after getting some kind of revenge but ended up feeling empty after she left and so tried to come back but was unable to exorcist policy, leading to Adam coming and taking her in. I mean, take a look at the show, as their relationship seems a lot more personal, and I think it might be interesting to see that develop in this AU, with Lute also maybe growing to more believe in this whole redemption stuff. I can also see Adam in this AU trying to help Charlie and the Hotel, all the while having a sort of complicated relationship with her, as the both of their ideals align yet there's the whole thing with Charlie's dad.

How the one who killed vaggie in your au was it a sibling of her like a brother or a sister because i think that will make her connection to able way better known his story
I was planning on Lute having that as an origin story. For Vaggie, the original scrapped concept was that she was a prostitute that died in 2014, I think? I might be wrong. For me, I kinda want to salvage that scrapped idea Vivzie had
I absolutely love this AU: Abel, Son of Adam, is the Leader of the Angels (Exorcists) and leads them in dealing out retribution to the Sinners who caused them and the innocents of Heaven (and Earth, possibly?). He’s a benevolent heroic Leader who all the Angels swoon over … and now they killed one of his girls. Abel may reside in Heaven, but you can bet there will be *Hell* to pay! No, he doesn't see any of them as his kids. I get the audio is kinda trippy since the OG context is about Carmilla protecting her kids but the only reason used the OG audio is because I could not find a more fitting cover. Vaggie is regarded highly since her skills warranted a promotion to 2nd in command.

I'm a little confused, are those five like his "top girls" and was that vaggie that died in the last extermination or something? Or what exactly happened? (Btw I love this AN and it's really cool and intresting)
For simplicities sake, I don't draw all of the Exorcists, just a few. I guess at this point, I would consider them the main clique. The last part of the video is a flashback to establish Vaggie's character. She was recruited by the Exorcists and in the end, got her revenge on the sinner that was responsible for her death.
The more I watch this AU, the more I feel robbed. First, making Abel, the first victim of homicide, the leader of the exorcists makes much more sense than Adam, his motive is understandable and even somewhat justified in my opinion. After all, doing all of this for the sake of revenge instead of just entertainment put everything into morally gray zone, both the Extermination and Redemption. And as much as I love HH’s splendid musical numbers, the plot is heavily flawed. Like, we get that Charlie’s plan of redemption is not bad if it for those who didn’t do anything too horrible in life and really regret it, but I still hate how Viv went with the route “angels are evil” and“demons are the victims,” which ironically just makes the story so black and white. Adam and the exorcists are bloodthirsty murderers who commit genocide for shits and giggles and won’t hesitate to maim one of their own and left them for death in hell, while Charlie only wants to protect her people and give them a second chance to do better. The line between “good” and “evil” is too clear to let the audience even question who in the right and the wrong. And the lack of moral conflict within the story makes Hazbin Hotel disappointingly bland for an adult show. True, we know that sinners are in hell for a reason thanks to the Vee and Alastor. However, I feel like this fact was never properly acknowledged in the plot or by Charlie herself as Viv never show us what they’ve done. The most we got is Angel being an ex-mafia and I doubt Charlie even knows that since she never asked. And doesn’t that mean both of them miss the whole point of redemption? To acknowledge that what you did was wrong and truly feel remorseful about it? But no, Charlie treats it like what Angel has done doesn’t matter since he really tries to improve himself now. Furthermore, I read from somewhere that Charlie sees sinners as problematic children who need help, which is just… no (Charlie, I love you but that’s not how it works). And I dare say that Viv wasted the perfect opportunity to bring this up during the Trial in heaven. She could’ve made Adam go “Oh, he resolves to change his way now you say? Why don’t you ask these dozens victims of his of what they think?!” and usher the people Angel had hurt when he was alive in. Angel was a mafia after all, I refuse to believe that Angel had never killed/destroyed innocent people’s lives. This would not only turn Adam into an actually impactful villain, but also hit Charlie with the realization that her people are condemned to hell for a reason. We could’ve got an Episode 7 where Charlie goes through a crisis and question herself if she still wants to give sinners a second chance after knowing their victims are in heaven, a character development! But noooo, we instead got a tacky plot of Charlie being angry with Vaggie for lying to her, only to for forgive her at the end of the episode. (Also, totally agree with you about Vaggie exists only to be Charlie’s gf here. Her lack of agency and motive besides supporting Charlie’s dream make their relationship too co-dependent for my liking). As for Abel, the more I see his character, the more I’m convinced that he never finds Cain in hell. Think about it, the sheep horns on his mask, the X mark on his face, his weapon being a spiked ball, and how he surrounds himself with people who died the same way as him make it seems like he’s TERRIFIED of forgetting, of what Cain did to him. So he turns everything around him into reminders of his death. He can’t let himself forget anything until he gets a closure with his brother. All in all, Abel would’ve made an excellent villain if only Viv had gone with this route and saved Adam for later seasons like she did with Lilith and Eve (oh, and will we ever learn the names of the four exorcists? Cuz admittedly they start to grow on me now)
Parts of this fall apart from Vaggie's backstory alone. She showed mercy to a child. If a child was condemned to Hell, rejected by Heaven, that shows that some people are in Hell are genuinely undeserving of being there. If you curse it's a sin, does that mean you should be condemned to Hell and risk being a victim of active genocide?
Hey, the show is only in its first season. Maybe things will get better as the seasons go by. Like in The Owl House, Steven Universe, Amphibia or DuckTales. The first season's antagonist is defeated at the end of the first season, but the overall problems of the first season are resolved in the second season.

If it works better if vaggie was sparing an hell born. Plus most important point the angels are not the one who choose who come in heaven/hell. It is divine judgement, the same who spared ser pent, molly(a mafia woman, and trust me Italian police is hard on them, because they are connected with crime how much man),and Vaggie if her background of human still valid, she was a prostitute and all conservative would send her to hell immediately. No divine judgement show to be severe but also compassionate. Plus if every winners would be a bad person, I think heaven born angels would start to question divine judgement long ago. About Adam I think he was a good man, bad personality but good actions, which matters more(think vox and alostar who act nice but they aren't good), but after long time and seeing how humanity act, he would turn for worst too. Adam wasn't happy, he had got food disorder and big sleep bag, this isn't face of happy person. I like HH, but I feel stolen of amazing grey world morality story. Lucky I found fanfictions, if what happen in future canon I don't like and still so boring black-white world, I would consider canon

@@LadyLeomon Luci only helped because of Charlie, but since this focuses on Adam i doubt he'd come and help. So Cain- who'd I guess would've gain a good amount of power- would be the only person Adam can call upon. Not as the king of Hell bit as one of its great powers

Sure Adam was more than a bit of a prick, but looking at his history I can’t blame him for turning out the way he did: God created him and Lilith, who was supposed to be his perfect mate, she rejected him and ran into the arms of Lucifer who then proceeded to ruin the life of his new wife Eve who was made *from* him (cos rib). Lucifer with all his grand ideas let evil into the world … knowing everything (currently available) I really can’t blame Adam for wanting revenge on Lucifer
A close friend of Vaggie, implied to belong to Abel's most beloved inner circle of exorcists. You can see at the end of the video there used to be five (Vaggie included) now with one beheaded, there are only four of them.

@@saffiro Now that’s a really neat parallel between Sinners and Winners here; one embody something they hate while the other bear a mark that will haunt them for all eternity. No wonder Abel and the exorcists can’t just forgive and forget, not when they see the reminder of their untimely demise every time they look in a mirror
You know, as cool as this animatic is, I simply refuse to empathize with Abel and exterminators in general. They may be coming from a place of pain, yes, but that doesn't take away from the fact that they are helping to carry out genocide and in this case the freudian excuse cannot be considered an excuse. It's fine that Abel is a tragic villain, but when something like this happens to him it seems more like karma affecting him for his genocidal actions than anything else. I see Abel as a three-dimensional, tragic villain, but I don't empathize with him at all because his actions are too cruel.
That’s exactly what made Abel such a good antagonist though. Like, we can understand his motive and even sympathize with him, but that doesn’t mean we agree with his action. I’m totally agree with you here and the final battle will be karma catching him up in full force (still hope he’ll live though, his character has so much potential) And personally, I really think that Abel and Charlie could have been the perfect foil to each other. Both want to help people and wholeheartedly believe that what they’re doing is right, but they are equally flawed in reality; not everyone can be redeemed and not all sinners deserve death.
What about the victims that are hurting like in the real world are u saying they shouldn't get revenged ,I believed they should because it justice in my eyes , plus they are killing demons who are condemned to hell for a reason
I don't think it was necessary... to sanctify? so much to Abel. It's one thing to justify it, , and make him a better person than Adam in the show, but here he's supposed to be the bad guy in the story and I'm about to glorify him. To all this, is the exterminating legion of this AU only 6, well 5 members? what a trash.
What I was going for is trying to make him a sympathetic antagonist. He can be an arrogant jerk set in his ways but he's coming from a place of hurting. I didn't want him to be a 2D villain but more of a complex, grey character to add more drama to the story. And there are thousands of exorcists but for the sake of simplicity, I don't draw all of them. Animatics are really time consuming and tedious to make so I just limit the amount of angels you see on screen to a handful.
