Well you can also use your fists. You don't barley use the spin dash for your attack. You have super speed and you can create amazing combos with you fists. Like in Sonic Battle(if you haven't played it yet) and in other Sonic sprites. Even Tails have special moves with his twin tails like in Sonic X. Did you see how he use his tails as a shield. You guys can do amazing stuff without it. Even though you can use the spin dash for dodging and attacking at the same time. So, use you fist more often. It will come in handy in a battle with Shadow, Eggman, or Metal Sonic. Even Amy learn how to box and use her hammer at the same time in Sonic Battle. Even Cream learned how to use her own Chao as her own weapon, but maybe she can learn a few fighting tenquinces like Tai Chi or Martial Arts. Also, Sally can fight to with her power rings that can turn into a blade and a power rope to tangle her enemies. I just telling you this because the Sonic characters can do anything than just use the same move in a battle.
