She does look different. Of course because it's different pregnancies!! I personally think it's also because her hair is longer than it is now. Her skin tone is slightly darker and her makeup, blush countouring etc. Also it could be her teeth (finished her invasilign, however you spell it, that also changes the shape of your mouth jaw) I think she is beautifull always! Can not wait for the twins. Can't believe it's already been over a year. Julianna is soo big now. LOVE YOU JUDY!!!!!!

I can't believe that baby Julianna is almost here; it's so crazy how quickly times flies by. Watching this video just made me realize how close she is to coming. You and Benji are going to be great parents; and don't worry if you forget little things. Honestly the hospital provides A LOT of things as well. Can't wait for Julianna to make her debut!

Just a tip in case you "tear' or are sore my doctor told me to wet a couple of pads. Put the in the freezer and let the get really cold ( not completely frozen) and you can use them to help soothe if you are really sore. It was the best thing ever after I had my 9lb 8 oz!!! Little girl.

Definitely bring EXTRA heavy pads, and PLENTY of nursing pads. I also recommend taking a warm shower when your contractions start getting really bad. I thought it wouldn't help at all, but it seriously made the pain 10 times more bearable for me! Good luck pretty lady! I'm so excited for you and Benji!!! :) Love love love xxx

I had to do hospitality work placement for school, which involved taking food to patients.. I've never really been fond of kids but I have to say the maternity ward was ADORABLE! The look on the parent's faces and just the atmosphere of the ward when a new baby arrived was pretty amazing, so I wish you the best of luck with your new bubba on the way and a safe delivery and speedy recovery! :)

Babies nails sometimes come out really long! gloves for sure so she wont scratch her gorgeous face! Most newborns are really small when they first arrive so most of her clothes will prob be really big on her, try washing the newborn clothes and see if they shrink a little, if not get one or two pairs of premie clothes so they can fit her perfectly. I am so happy for you guys!

when i gave birth to my 2nd baby, my labor hit out of no where and i ended up leaving everything behind. but luckily our house was 2 blocks away and hubby went and got everything for me. :) i had it all packed but i went into labor while i was out. and i was screaming my head off in the hospital because there was no time for a epidural. had to do it naturally. and i felt EVERYTHING!!!! it was the worst and best experience ever! im excited for u!!!

Judy, you really need to add your lanolin. Put it on before every single feeding and after as well (it is safe for baby, you dont have to remove). This will really help with the pain. I have been exclusively breastfeeding for 8 months. Lanolin saved me from quitting during the very painful start. Good luck!

I agree, mittens are so important! And make sure you have your nurse teach you how to do a really good swaddle. I know the first time I went home, my baby loved to be wrapped tightly and I could never get it tight enough. I also had one of those baby carrier inserts w/bumpers, but later found out they're actually really unsafe (although I can't remember why). The safer way to cushion baby's head is to just roll up some receiving blankets and stuff the carseat after she's already buckled in.

A few things I suggest, the pads you might want to get a little bigger size, and I would bring a boppy pillow for nursing, it helped me a lot. Also where I live in Iowa hospitals don't allow the coarsest head things for baby. They have you put two receiving blankets on the sides of baby. The carseat headrest and slip down the babies head and get caught in between the neck pushing the babies head down. So they aren't good. Receiving blankets work perfect :) good luck and best wishes!!

@itsjudystime I'm not sure if you are aware, but for the first 2 weeks or so your nipps are going to be sore for nursing.. They are going to be real tender, but push through it because nursing your baby is the best thing you could ever do & its a great bonding experience.. I nursed both of my children.. Stay Blessed!!! BTW I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!

Hi Judy, I haven't had a baby but I know many many women who have. Their advice they gave me was "don't be alarmed if you bleed A LOT after giving birth". As in, the first time you stand up "it's like the flood gates have opened" They all said that they wished somebody told them that so the shock factor would have been softened! GOOD LUCK xoxo

Judy, my sister works on the maternity ward in a hospital...I know all hospitals are different but here are some things you didn't mention, maybe you did but I'll put it anyways. You need to get some baby wash for when you wash her at the hospital, barrier cream, newborn diapers, wash cloths, baby mitts, and baby wipes and like someone else said, the always over night pads are what you will need!!!!! Congrats again and good luck, I can't wait to see her!!!

I would definitely say to get the thicker overnight pads just in case the thin ones aren't good enough. Also make sure to bring a brush and hair ties and you may want to bring shower shoes or plastic flip flops. Also another heavier blanket for Julianna in case it's cold when you bring her home. The one you have is good for wrapping her in but you'll want one more just to put over her in the car seat while you're outside. Good luck Judy and Benji!!

hospitals are usually very cold, so i would bring a blanket, just because i know i dont like to snuggle up to a hospital blanket! and of course a light blanket (not your comforter haha but maybe a throw that people usually use when lounging)! having a blanket to sleep with that smells like your own laundry, is very comforting:) maybe one for baby bear too!

3 pairs of mittens, 3 pairs of socks, 5 burp cloths, a muslin blanket works best for swaddling baby. Be prepared to bleed... Those pads will do nothing for you but hospital will provide - - they're huge! I freaked out at them! I cloth diaper and the cloth eez prefold flat is the best ever burp cloth. Forget all those nice cute cloths.. The absorbency of a prefold is unbeatable! So excited for Julianna to arrive! You and Benji are going to be wonderful parents!

Make sure to bring very comfy loose clothing to wear while you're at the hospital as well as for going home. And I def agree with everyone about getting bigger thicker pads! The brand "Always" has some really nice thick night time ones. (they come in a purple packaging) I got those after I had my baby, and they worked perfectly. Good luck and we can't wait to see your new bundle of joy!

The hospitals actually recommend that you don't use any head support padding that did not come with the actual car seat. The reason being is that it hasn't been tested in your car seat when it comes to car accidents. Just an FYI. Congrats! We just had our baby girl 3 months ago! Motherhood is the best!
@MakeUpbyMoMo
@MakeUpbyMoMo 12 лет назад
Hey Judy! You def need thicker pads...I just recently had a baby and you'll be bleeding very heavy. Also I don't recommend the additional car seat cushion. I took a car seat class and the additonal pad was not crash tested with your car seat therefore, god forbid you get in an accident, the cushion can actually harm the baby more. But in the end its your decision. I'm a first time mom too and I bought the additional cushion because I had a preemie and after taking the class, i opted not to use

make sure there is a crib or something set up for baby at home if u dont already! if u dont like hospital food bring juice and fruits light things cause u will need to hydrate and recover. My mom says always say no it they want to cut you cause she says when they cut you they cut way deeper than if u just ripped on your own and is longer harder recovery, I hope u did some massages so you wont have to rip or get cut! Can't wait always so exciting! I love babies!! Good luck Judy and Benji

You probably won't have much milk leakage until you get home, it takes a while for your milk to start. The hospital will give you thick pads for bleeding, just make sure you have some thicker ones for when you get home. You will go home with lots of stuff from the hospital. I think the baby outfits you picked out are adorable, but look a bit big. You and Benji are so sweet, and will be such good parents. Good luck, Judi! You will do great!

I just had my son on Febuary 25th. He was 10lbs and 4oz. Big boy! And I did it all natural! I'm hoping you can too. Somethings I would make sure you have? Write a birth plan! Super important! Google it and I'm sure you will find a layout on how to make one. That's how I made mine. Also, buy the big over night pads. I call them surf boards. Lol. And baby wipes. Some hospitals don't provide them. Good luck girl!
@opallb
@opallb 12 лет назад
Wow getting close! A few items you might want to consider: Baby wipes, preferably the Lansinoh for breastfeeding babies, really gentle on the skin and newborn poo is really sticky so it helps it come off gently without having to over rub. And get some of the big overnight pads hun, those little ones aren't going to cut it. Some baby socks would be good too.. If you are going to cloth diaper her you should take some with you with a wet bag.

Good luck! my cousin had her baby a couple months ago and she felt so bad, she could barely walk around anyway! and if you have to go to the bathroom make sure to get a plastic type filled with air seater, i dont really know what its called but it helps you not go so down and hurting your area and making sure you dont rip..
@KrystleLife

I know you're going to get a TON of comments on what to bring, but here's my 2 cents. Don't worry about pads. You're going to get some serious pads there. Also ask for a can of Dermoplast! It's a cooling spray for burns and cuts but using it on your behind will make it a LOT easier to sit down. Some hospitals prefer that you not eat ANYTHING while in labor and just will bring you all of the ice chips you can handle. And I totally love nursing tanks! I still use them all the time for layering!

Hi Judy! So excited for you!! A few things I would recomend taking: for baby - mittens, socks, diaper cream (not sure if the hosp. provides it), extra blanket and hat. FOR MOM - lanolin cream for the nipples, maternity or overnight pads (the regular ones sometimes are not sufficient), numbing spray (I think there's one called Dermoplast), hair brush and ponytail holders.

I reccomend bringing xtra blankets and a pillow from home. Also, petroleum jelly to put on babys bottom everytime you change them because when they are first born their bowels are really loose and sticky (tar like) and its easier to get it off if their little bottoms are coated in petroleum jelly.

if you havent already you should go and get a hospital tour so you can get all your paperwork done & also know what to do when you arrive at the hospital & where they keep there wheel chairs if you were to need one & where the emergency door is at if your contractions start in the middle of the night because at night the front doors are closed , hope this helps :)

Lotsa good advice here, Judy. Can't wait to see Juliana. One thing I recommend is that you only bring your ID, insurance card, and tiny amount of cash. Hospital's not the safest place when it comes to personal valuables. Also bring a hand sanitizer too. Hospitals crawl with amazing amount of germs.

judy, when i had my first baby many years ago i didn't know how important it was to get the type of pad to wear after the baby is born. get the extra long pads. the bleeding, after the baby, can be pretty heavy for the first week or two.

it takse time before newborn gets used to the outside world temp, I would suggest warmer baby clothes and a blanket, it'll keep the baby relaxed and happy, the pads you have are muuuuuch to thin, get some special ones, even night-times wouldn't do, and for few days after the labour you'll sweat A LOT, take it into account, what about washing products, like showe gel, shampoo, does the hospital provide it? I had two babies and believe me - every time my bag was at least twice of the size of yours

i just had my 2nd baby 2 weeks ago. my hosp had giant pads and disposable panties. i bled a lot for the first couple of days so i just used those. Even stayed in my hosp gown. You bled so much, it can leak and i didnt want to worry bout my clothes getting soiled so i stayed in the hosp gown til I went home. You may want to bring a dress or skirt. other than pants incase you have c-section so it doesnt rub against stitches.just in case. shower stuff & towel. Hair tie and headband.

How exciting!!! Make sure you both practice putting the baby's car seat in the car ( correctly securing it) and taking it out and than leave it in there for when she's ready for her first ride home! Also, don't take so much stuff because you might just be there for overnight only so necessaties are good. Don't forget a plush baby blanky! They need to be wraped up good to stay warm. Can't wait!

Hi Judy. I'm sorry to say that those regular period pads won't work for after baby's born. However the hospital provides you with the kind you'll need. Also you don't need to bring diapers nor wipes because the hospital provides those too and they'll most likely give you extra to take home. :) TWO GOOD TIPS: 1.take a breast pump (easier if its electrical) because the ones at the hospital (manual breast pump) hurt especially because this is your first baby. 2. Wear a belly band or something t

Hey Judy I'm a mother of two and I just want to give you a few tips for when you have Juliana 1. Before you leave the hospital ask for a nipple shield so breast feeding can be easer for you and baby 2. Make sure to always put Juliana a hat to keep her warm at all times even at home that's were cold air goes threw since they have a soft spot 3. Buy alcohol wipes for umbilical cord cleaning which you should every time you change there diapers ..,, I think I covered the most important good luck

Here in NC the hospital provides everything for baby so we will only need the going home outfit. They even provide mesh, postpartum undies and thick pads. I'm not sure if your hospital does the same. I would recommend plenty of high fiber snacks because your bathroom activity will be monitored and will be taken into account when deciding how soon you can go home. Definitely check with the Maternity Ward to see what they will be providing.

I was told to bring an extra bag- like a canvas shopping bag for all the things you'll bring home that the hospital will give you. Also I was told to bring a roll of soft toilet paper because the hospital stuff is rough and your lady parts will be happy to have soft paper! Good luck!!!

I definitely over-packed when I went lol. But I definitely think you have all the essentials there. I would keep the things you need during labor handy and in a smaller bag or a side pocket (lip balm, hair ties, phone charger, etc). As far as pads, Always Infinity are the best! They're thin but work so well! Definitely get the highest absorbency which is usually overnight.
@trichmomma
@trichmomma 12 лет назад
Also you should bring copies of your prenatal records, and see if any paperwork can be filled out in advance. The last thing you want to be doing is filling in blanks or answering question during contractions. If you have a birth plan make several copies for your nurses and delivery doctor..

Make sure Benji packs a bag too!!! He's def going to want to bring a pillow and blanket and toiletries and such!! You'll probably want more blankets for baby! I brought three times as many things as I thought I needed and used it all. I was only in the hospital three days. One thing I would say is also be prepared in case you need a cesarean! Mine was an emergency, so I wasnt as ready as I could have been. Hopefully you won't have to have one (if it's not what you want), but you never know...

My mum watched this vlog and se was recommending that you get MAXI PADs or ones that you get for night time because the pads you have look kinda thin and not absorbent enough, there's four of us so I guess she's saying it with experience, but blood flow might not be the same for everyone, but anyways wow juliaanas so close to coming I can't believe 9 months are nearly up . I had clinical on baby and mother unit last semester, u don't need to bring pad, bc hospital provide very big pad, it is more standard to measure the amount of blood. U don't necessarily need pillow either, but yes, bring them for Benji. Most mom don't wear bra under hosp gown, nurses will check ur breast often, and also teach u to breast feed, so it would be easier. But u do need a bra on discharge day. It is nice that you bring ur own gown, but it be better not to wear it, u will change often.

Hey Judy! I've been watching you videos for some time now and was so excited when you were expecting. My hubby and I have a 2 1.2 year old girl. I just wanted to suggest that you wash the baby clothes before you Julianna wears them. Baby's skin is super sensitive and most clothes come from the factory with various chemicals on them. I used a very mild/natural detergent. Also, they will give you pads at the hospital most likely, but if not, you're gonna be MUCH bigger pads than those.. Good luck!
@sweetpuppy120489

Your hospital stay is at least 3 days. If C-sec happen, 4-5 days most. Hospital provide many baby things and even ointment for your sore nipple. Pain management and preventing heavy bleeding is the main concern of the nurse. But relax and enjoy your time with the baby, Birth is truly wonderful and beautiful.

I second the recommendation for extra batteries, cell chargers, laptop/tablet (labor gets boring if you have an epidural), a couple of magazines, and make sure Benji packs a couple pillows for himself (with a colored case so they don't get mistaken for hospital pillows) and an extra comfy blanket. Also the Medela cooling gel breast pads. You run them under water for a second and then place them directly onto your breast after feeding. They were a tremendous help.

Coming from a woman who has made the trip three times, you should buy a preemie outfit... You never truly know how big/small the baby will be. All of mine came home in preemie outfits and two were on time. All were also under 7lbs and easily fit into preemie outfits... And yes, the pads need to be thicker... But oh how the joyous hospital will give you thicker pads and some numbing spray (for down yunder) and a cold pack too... All very soothing... :) LOL... It's a wondeful time, ENJOY!!! :)

bring snacks too. once you're in labor they won't let you eat and if you miss the time for meals they won't feed you. after giving birth you feel ravenous and dehydrated so having something to eat is essential.

I know, the hospitals in the US provide all of those things (well, at least mine did) I didn't need to provide anything accept the going home outfit. They also gave me a huge goody bag should I say when I left the hospital that was filled with diapers, wipes, formula samples (in case I needed) samples of baby wash, lotion. Wow, plus a bunch of stuff for myself pads, tucks, and lots of other things.

Looks like you got everything you need but I agree with some others...get really long thick pads because you do bleed like cray cray after baby. I personally have never tried the thin pads but I can promise you that I'm not sure i'd trust them with post baby bleeding. Its very heavy the first few days and the thicker ones offer better protection. :) I can't believe how close you are to having her....so exciting!

Judy this might sound crazy but if u want to go back to your normal body in no time u should bring your belly support band and start wearing it right after baby's born. Try to keep your belly tight at all times except at night. As ur tommy shrinks a little u might want to switch to a different support band. I did this with my two kids an my tommy was completely flat in less than a month. And yes people is right about the nipple cream and baby mittens! I'm so excited for u X)

I would recommend one "going home" outfit for baby but during the stay, you should get the gerber long sleeve shirts that cut off at the waist and close at the hands. I found mitts were too big for my babies and would slip off, and the shirts allowed easy access to the baby's belly button for cleaning and comfort. Not to forget the diaper changes. Also, more than likely, she will be bundled up most of the time.

I just had my first baby on 9-18-12 and Let me tell you that the pads you packed are not thick enough. The hospital will provided some there but when you get home make sure you buy the thickest and longest pads you an find. :)

You probably will want the overnight pads, otherwise you'll worried about leaks constantly. Also, some cheap plastic flip flops for showering, nursing pillow, hair ties, maybe a headband that allows you to have your out of your face but still down if that's the way you prefer and while you won't be concerned with a full face of makeup perhaps a few items that will help make you feel pretty and confident for pictures. Also, extra baby socks that could be used as mitts if you rather not buy them.

Yeah I suggest a girdle because after the baby Ur insides in Ur stomach and uterus r out of place so it helps things go back to place also helps Ur stomach get back to normal I wore mine for 6weeks everyday and it helped tons I kno it sounds like a long time but trust me u won't regret it(:

I agree with everyone else. You will need the biggest maxi pads you can find but try to get like 2 weeks worth of the hospital jumbo ones when you go!

Comments summery-pt1 0-don't forget the sweater (reminde=)) 1-larger pads (a lot said that the hospital will provide them) 2-wash baby cloths with special baby detergents , 3-smaller baby cloths 4-put car seat in the middle 5- your own face cloth 6- A hospital bag for Benji. Blanket and pillow put a colorful case so you don't forget it at hospital 7- breast feeding hearts, so back a lotion to prevent stretch marks (Lanolin and vitamin E oil.)

Bleeding after labor is nothing compared to a period flow, so you'll need much thicker and super long pads. The clothes for baby may be a tad too big. Opt for premie and newborn because 0-3 month clothing is pretty big.

think about bringing a blanket for the baby. the hospital will have those crappy ones while you're there but if it's a little chilly when you take baby home you might want to have a blanket for her! it was something i forgot with my second child.

Make sure you use laundry detergent specially designed for babies. Regular detergent such as tide has harsh chemicals babies are allergic too.
