It's mainly because they wanted to make it diverse and meta. There's nothing wrong with that if done right, but they did it the most horrendous way possible. The shoved the diversity angle too much. That's my opinion on it. Tbh, having Velma as a main focus is a good idea, but they really tried so hard on diversifying while putting meta commentary on the show.

Original is a classic, This is what most people grew up on, and it kept every good thing and added more, then Mystery Incorporated expanded into more Darkish topics, aiming for slightly older kids. All great.
Say what you will, but this is simply the best version of scooby doo and there was a absolutely no need for the band to go this crazy, but they did and have marked their place as one of the most nostalgic sounds I've ever laid my ears upon

I remember hearing this for the first time when I first saw the show, already being a fan of the original Scooby Doo cartoons from re-runs, and it immediately felt right, it has vibes of the classic "Scooby Dooby Doo, where are you" theme just more upbeat and rocky. The show was also a perfect mix of classic Scooby and updated animation and stories, my favourite version of the gang by far.
