What is the best Polaris Khaos for your riding style? This question gets answered in this in depth, on snow comparison video! I got ahold of Golden Snowmobile Rentals and got 2 identical Series 8 2.75" QD2 sleds, and put them to the ultimate test!

Hey Brett, I came across your PRO vs Khaos video about a month ago and became an instant subscriber. I really appreciated your approach to doing that comparison. You killed it on this one also. That being said, what really fascinated me the most is that I have been doing my own comparison of sorts. I'm 58 and just got back into sledding in December of '18. I had not been on a sled since the 70's. I see that they have been improved a little bit. I'm sitting on 2 sleds right now. A '19, 850/163x3 (VOHK built), and an '18, 800/155x2.6. I picked up the 850 in the summer of '19 based on something Burandt had said ("It is a very forgiving machine"). I hadn't heard anyone say something like that about any other machine. I picked up the '18 this past summer. I wondered if my inexperienced ass would even see a difference. Well, I saw more difference than I ever could have imagined. The 155 wanted to trench like there was no tomorrow, it would dive into turns, and the stuck fest that I would get into did not make sense to me when I could ride right thru with the 163. I was at a loss, so I reached out to Burandt for some advice wondering if it was shocks, or whatever. He said to me that "You just described the exact differences between the 2 sleds. You need to be more aggressive on the 155". Ok, that makes sense as I look at the gearing, track length, paddle size, motor, etc. All operator error as it were. I'm finding that each sled has it's sweet spot for riding. Having learned that, it makes it so much easier as to what type of riding I plan to do, along with the ever changing day to day conditions. My style is more meadow mashing, easy tree riding, single track exploring, and carving easy rolling hills. Age, wisdom, and a few aches and pains sorta dictate my day as to not get to crazy. Anyway, thanks again for your time and effort on these videos. It is appreciated.

Thanks or taking the time to thoroughly explain the difference between the two sleds and showing us how to simply set up our suspension for the riding we want to do that day. I'm a big sled guy and love to hop on one of my buddy's 155 to rip around on but still doing homework to see if next sled will be a 155. Your video shows how you have to be creative and more particular on line choices on the 155 if you want to make it up to the top. I've subscribed and will be sharing your channel with my riding group

I have some good news, we have begun receiving the repair kits for the fuel system problem, so your sled should be among the first to get the fix. I missed this video somehow when it was posted. I love my 165 Khoas 2.75, it is an absolute technical terrain slayer. It responds much easier to rider input than the Pro but it is not giving up much on deep straight up climbs. The 165 transfers less than the 155 and while feels tamer than the shorter track it can still be tuned to get rowdy if you want it to. The 165 Khaos is possibly one of the best all around mountain sleds Polaris has released to date and gets a bit less praise because of how people perceive it will ride. Great job on the video and suspension differences which people are always asking for.

Why do some insist on riding these short tracks in the Snow up to your waist and deeper? Do they enjoy being stuck and shoveling? Have you ever tested a 175"? Wood be interested in your thoughts. I have been debating moving from Ski Doo to Polaris but have been scared of the reliability of Polaris. Seeing Brett reaching over for the gas when he’s starting them gives me reservation. I was confused at first because I can start up a Ski Doo after 6 months on the first pull.. I thought the days of the reach over were done with fuel injection. Anyone have issues with their Polaris 850’s? I’ve loved the reliability of the Ski Doos.

@Brett Awesome comparison videos you putting out. I'm thinking of switchibg from my G4 to the khaos this next snowcheck. Couple questions, -Was the limiter strap out? It looked pretty tight which would affect those playful feelings. -everything else being equal in your terrain (ie both had qd2) would you opt 3" or 2.75? -lastly how much does a short tunnel make a difference in playfull feeling? Does a 165 play more like a 155 with a cut tunnel? Thanks!!!
@turcotte16
@turcotte16 3 года назад
Hey Ryan, the limiter straps in each sled were factory setting -I much prefer the 2.75 over any sort of 3” variation -a cut tunnel on either sled would Definately help with their playfulness!
