This Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier mom is spending some quality time playing catch me if you can with her adorable 9 week old puppies in the back yard. It's so cute watching them hide under the bench until one of them bravely tries to take on mom but inevitably fails again and again until eventually, they decide to gang up on her, but of course mom still wins as she spins them off in a flash.

She is playing, look at her tail and her playing bow. Wheatens are playful until forever, that is one of the wonderful trait of wheatens.

That’s is how wheatens behave. Not at all surprising that she is showing her pups how to “wheaten”. These are terriers, not Goldens 😂

@@misssmisssymaria they are outside, but, they are in a pen and playing on stone patio. I think they WOULD have more fun and exercise if they could play in a more open, grassy area. It could be that they don't have a fence to keep them in though. 🤔

What’s rough to us, isn’t what’s rough to dogs. If you’ve ever been in a dog pack or group, you’ll see that’s how they play. She was actually pretty gentle compared to how I’ve seen others play.

That’s not attacking, look at the body language of the mom and the pups. The way the mom’s tail wags is a playful tail, not aggressive. She isn’t injuring them or hurting them. The pups will flop around and stuff but that is their idea of fun. Dogs aren’t like humans.

The pups are having fun you can tell by their body language and the fact that they all pile up on her when she lies down shows they don't have fear of her, that it's a game.

No she’s not. She’s playing, you can tell by her body language. People need to keep in mind that dogs are not humans, and their idea of fun is different from ours. My best friend has a husky puppy, and her and her sister both play really rough, but they aren’t hurt. Also, the pups are going back for more, they aren’t scared. People need to stop acting like dog nature and human nature are the same.

You’ve obviously never had a wheaten. They play a little rough and tough, but have a real good sense of limits. She would never harm them. Well above average Intelligent dogs, not superior with commands and obedience like a German Shepard type, but extremely intuitive and smart overall. Can be somewhat stubborn, but caring and loving. She’s just showing them who Is in charge
