According to one concert, he apparently drinks a lot of water in order to sound like a girl, probably to clear out his throat and stomach so he can sing in that high pitched, feminine voice
i dont understand why this performance makes me want to cry. it's so beautiful. i never listened to this song as a kid, i didnt listen to this band ever, and i never watched Loser but i feel a weird nostalgia seeing them perform this song 20 years later with so much passion. absolutely incredible. one of my top live songs ive ever seen, even just on video.
He got sent to a Christian school where he was bullied for liking rock and metal music during the American satanic panic. That girl voice he uses was a defense/coping mechanism he used on jerks that were bullying him.
After so many years he still managed to deliver the same pitch and note he did on the audio. What a pro, gave me a lot of goosebumps and the nostalgia is totally of the charts.
@@jonhartley7445 3 years late but i think they were talking about the profile picture of the original comment, it has snoopy dressed in a traditional kilt.
When I was about 8 my teacher in primary school blasted this song out in the school hall and told us all to go nuts. Rest of the school were confused and vividly remember my teacher getting a right bollocking from the head. One of my fav memories of primary school though. Cheers Mr Galling!
The precision of this performance and recording is outstanding note by note perfection! The percussions are amazing, vocals, background, everything is just tight and perfect. WOW!
I've listened to this version so many times already, it's such an amazing rendition. I used to love this song when it came out, and this just sounds so amazing and definitely removes the 'pop' vibe.
The break down harmonies when they came in of the girl part!!! HOLY CRAPPPP!!! Effortlessly beautiful!! I LOVEEE YOU GUYS’ JOY!! This is what music is all about!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Wheatus... I dont know how many people are going to get it, but, The absolute fucking joy you brought to that ladies face is the exact same joy you bring to me and the rest of us... That little inhale before the BEST part🤣🤣🤣... Every second of the song i wait for it and never fail to try do it🤦🏻♂️🤣 Love you dudes Thank you for this song!!🤘🏻
@Lexi Jones I was born in 91. I know so much music (especially 90s) and I was surprised that this one got past me somehow. Never heard it on the radio or came across it on RU-vid or playlists of various sorts. I guess that'll do it.
So many octaves in this man. Talent uncensored or filtered. Nostalgia huge. I forgot about worldly problems in these beautiful minutes. Thank you. We need more music from this band. ❤
I was already in my 30s when the song came out and I could still relate to it. Over the years I have listened to this song occasionally when things seemed futile or hopeless. It never failed to calm me down and get my chin back up again. I also know of two kids that gave up on the idea of committing suicide because this song gave them hope and I can't help wondering how many lives this song has saved over the years.
Absolutely superb performance of one of my favourite songs of all time. Love the studio setting. I was 40 when this song first came out, but I love it.
I grew up in the 90s. But missed this song. Then I watched the show "Generation Kill", which only had this song in it for the line "He drive's an IROC". The lesson is, that the song is decently fun. But the show has deeper lessons. American Culture exists, don't ignore it.....
It's cus it's not actually the girl saying it, it's the version of her the character in the song created in his head, some next level songwriting right there
Ima tell you right now,. This song is on another level, i been around for years and years, this one keeps me coming back. I siad it. In writing screen shot it what eva
