Why was it so common for them to have three women playing during the Burgo era? It was always Man-Woman-Man or Woman-Man-Woman during Tony's run, and there were a few episodes in 1997 where it was three women, Woman-Man-Man or Man-Woman-Woman, but after 1997, it almost never happened again apart from 2 state challenge episodes (the latter example was just because of 3 semi-finalists who advanced to the grand final) and a celebrity special in 1998 with the Wiggles playing (which was possibly the only time 3 men have played on our version), and it always a champion versus an opponent of the opposite gender, and an opponent of the same gender. Although there were a couple of episodes during the 2008 refail (sorry, revamp) where they had a reigning champion against 2 opposite gender opponents
@@7120Magnum The Australian version is my favorite in addition to the American version because I grew up watching the US version with Pat and Vanna on TV and the classic episodes on RU-vid. By the way, I am from the United States.
The gold background debuted on Burgo's 10th anniversary episode, which aired on October 10th, 1994 - With this change, the overhead shots of the flippers on the wheel were now shown at 10 o'clock/12 o'clock/2 o'clock angles (as opposed to the previous 12 o'clock/2 o'clock/3 o'clock angles), and they now had the sparkles and "stripes" on the contestant backdrops and outline of the board, which lead some to mistakenly believe that the new version of the theme music was introduced on Burgo's anniversary show, rather than at the start of 1995. At the start of 1995, the gold background reverted to blue, and the red/yellow/blue lighting features either side of contestants row became a dark blue colour
