I actually like the idea of earning chosen prizes throughout the game. With a different format I think this concept could fly.

The women constantly shreaking at the top of their lungs was very annoying! No wonder this version of the show didn't succeed. 👎😖👎

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, the irritating sound of the wheel clacking, the women acting like they are all on uppers, the assumption that they are just extensions of their husbands, the chairs, Chuck rushing them to give letters, yelling stop the wheel, the squealing and screaming... this was weird and awful. Who would have ever expected the show to be picked up?

Pay no attention to the man behind the screen! Lol! Those women are scream queens!

Even with all the bugs, this wasn't half bad. The setup made it look way more intimate, which isn't a bad thing. Remove the audience and it becomes one helluva edge on other game shows of that time. For those of you saying this looked like 'Press Your Luck', you need to realize this show was done like 4 years before the original iteration 'Second Chance' and 10 years before 'Press Your Luck' came on the air. So maybe it's the other way around?

Holey Cow -- too much time wasted just waiting for the wheel to stop. But the SCREAMING women drove me nuts. I can't believe I watched the whole thing.

The screaming and shrieking after every spin (oops, I mean stop) is very annoying. That should have been dealt with at the first break. The male deep voiced "clues" are creepy especially during that time when obscene phone calls were a problem.

Haha...so weird hearing Blood, Sweat and Tear's 'Spinning Wheel' used! Fitting and yet odd at the same time.

They play "Spinning Wheel" as a commercial bumper, and the closing credits play "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang." It's so interesting that this original show didn't have a model in front of the puzzle board turning letters. The puzzle board looks like cardboard, similar to the original Jeopardy.

Wow, this version is... *really* different. Pretty interesting, if not too confusing. I liked how the introduced the contestants *and* did a round of gameplay in the opening. I'm not sure what happens if you have two prizes 'paid off' before solving a puzzle, whether you only claim one prize, or all the ones you've covered.

Based on that I'm surprised it got picked up

It's interesting that Chuck was the host of this original 1973 pilot and Susan Stafford was the hostess of the two 1974 pilots with Edd Byrnes. It's also interesting that vowels have always and continues to be worth $250.

An absolutely massive sterling silver, crystal and china set from Tiffany's, a full length mink coat from Bergdorf Goodman, a 5 piece Gucci luggage set, and did I see a bottle of Dom or are my eyes deceiving me?! Holy crap. What in the world happened to gameshow prizes?! :(

I just love old episodes or old "versions" of shows, like this one. We get to see a piece of culture from the day as well as learn a bit of TV history. I find it interesting that they use the same font on the puzzleboard as today. The upright wheel looks funny and when the ladies say "Stop the wheel," I keep expecting them to say "No whammies!" the first contestant's name was Marilyn.. at the end of the show, the announcer called her Maureen.. which was the 3rd contestant's name.

Love the loud enthusiasm. The audience clapping I think is a track. When people tell her to keeping going or stop, I only hear a few voices really close and when the ladies shout, it doesn't sound like a huge area like the screams are bouncing off the walls that are close.

It was painful to watch her choose W instead of two Fs when she already knew it. Just too stupid to realize she could have doubled the earnings.
