Wheel Throwing in porcelain is not easy. Wheel Throwing large porcelain bowls is close to impossible. Today I will do the impossible :-)
This video is very slow - on purpose. I have not speed up the process. This is how long time it actually takes me to wheel throw porcelain bowls. And I enjoy it.

I think a lot of viewers really enjoy hearing you talk in your videos. This one was interesting, but felt like it was missing something without your words as we go through, still liked it. Thank you for posting.

Make me laugh.......sorry. You broke your bat! If you love plaster bats you can make one with American football cleats put where the bat pins go and using a wooden bat underneath on the pins. You'll have to figure it out but I made one and it works well.

I don't use bat pins in this workshop. I do in my own :-)

Mikkel - thanks for the video. I suggest that you make a concious decision about why you post - entertain or to educate or maybe both. You tend to lean towards entertainment unfortunately. I would assume most of your viewers are "want to be potters" so, they watch more for education. I don't find pottery videos very entertaining but, are for me, informative. This video has little to no information. Basic (throwing) information should include the wieght of the clay on the wheel, the type of clay used, cone of the clay, glaze applied and other basics. Thanks for the regular video (not short). Hint for your plaster bat. Use Hydro-Stone (just like potters plaster) and insert a fiberglass mesh into the plaster form while the plaster-cement is setting up. Your bat will be much stronger. I make bats about 20mm thick and I have only broken one the same way you did but I always slam the clay on the wheel.
