I rode in a helicopter with the Scenic Helicopter Tours in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. I have been to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee many times, but never did a helicopter ride. The only helicopter ride I had done before this was when I was airlifted to the hospital after my vehicle accident in 2015 when I became paralyzed. Have you ever ridden in a helicopter?

I'm a T4, born and raised in Newport, TN, about an hour north of PF & Sevier. Been there a zillion times but never rode the choppers. I rode my first one around 87 from a car wreck one night and another one in Houston an Feb 96 the wreck I got my sci in. I live in the desert off-grid now near Big Bend National Park.

Haha Thanks! I told the pilot that I figured it was a lot more complicated than a joystick and he started showing me how it all worked. There were actually two joysticks as well as a foot pedal. He said that essentially, the only thing you are doing is fighting against the wind. If the wind is pushing you to the right, you move the joystick left. Propellers on helicopters spin at the same speed all the time, and the blade angle is what makes the helicopter go up or down.

@@masonx54 The actor/ singer/ songwriter, and Rhodes Scholar, Kris Kristofferson ...there's a short story that Kris arrived at a party, decades ago, in an Army helicopter. Friends watched as he slowly rocked back and forth to the ground. They were stunned when Kristofferson stepped out. Friends, certain he'd never mentioned that he had at some time in his Service, been a pilot. Kristofferson replied that this was his first pilot experience, that he'd simply borrowed the chopper from an army base. C. Atterbury, resist temptation! Lol

Haha I thought about taking over. He said that all you are really doing is fighting against the wind, moving the controls in the opposite direction to counter it.
