Out of all the Bikes I've Raced I still have two old school ones in the garage a 1972-Bultaco-Flat-Tracker & a Honda Elsinore the 2-1976-78 old school Yamaha YZ's I sold..A-125cc/250cc..Back then in the 70s the Yamaha YZ and the Suzuki RM they were the top dogs..🛵💨🔥

1986 is my vote on best year for whole Honda CR lineup all around loo ks and performance.

@@harrypalmer291Had the 1986 CR 125 which was a good bike, but unfortunately, I was a bit too big (heavy) for it so sold it and bought myself a 1984 Suzuki RM 250 that was ridden in the British Championship... What I don't like are these modern-day 4 strokes… They're not for me!

I had a DS80 but it was 1995 or 96 I forget. It was fun but small and slow compared to these. I used to ride it in the snow and keep my feet down on the ground when I hit some ice. Lol.

Went from "Team Bultaco"- Flat track Racing to Motocross I purchased a brand new 1976- Yamaha YZ-250 right out of the wooden crate...That was the first year they came out with the Mono- Shock from what I remember😳 made a huge difference in the Racing Industry..Great looking Bikes nothing's better then old school in my opinion..🛵💨

I’ll say this, the Kawasakis had more power and top end, I think the Yamaha had better handling. But who cares about handling when you are getting out horse powered

Could have been the way they were geared. I was there in 84, the kowies were faster

Now I have the mighty CR500, it’s a beast

It’s a 87 500, longer connecting rod, and 80 over. Now all I have to do is fix my back brake. It’s either the master or the actual brake line. Not sure. But it’s fixable

I brought my first bike a YZ490 when I was 16, used to scare the shit out of everyone! My pop said to me when are you going to put the muffler back on that thing, had to tell him it was on. White/Red seat Australia model also.

My dad had the 1975 Elsinore 250. He claimed it did not have a throttle, it had an elevator. He just chose what floor he wanted the front wheel on. My 3rd bday (1976) brought me a 50cc Indian chief with training wheels before my first bicycle at 6 years old (no training wheels 😂😂😂), my 5th bday brought the Honda MR 50cc 3-speed (clutch). My dad rode it more than I did. Beautiful smooth little bike. Dad's and mine were both the red/silver matching combination... YEARS later, (having not ridden ANYTHING) he got riding 'fever' and went BIG. He bought the 1985 KX 500, SCARED THE CRAP out of himself, and sold it. 😂😂😂😂😂
