Usually, in the middle of the fire drill, the principal goes over the loudspeaker and says, “Teachers, again, THIS JUST A DRILL. THIS JUST A DRILL.” Idk, it just reminded me of that
Autistic Capitalist normally when a false alarm happens at my school, they say that it was an alarm malfunction(yeah the systems are due to be upgraded to automated voice evac systems) or someone pulled it or there was a smoke machine that set it off
This was definitely Wheelock's loudest electronic horn/strobe ever produced. Even the Exceder isn't as bad as this! (The Wheelock AS's volume was along the lines of the System Sensor SpectrAlert Advance/L-series and the Simplex TrueAlert.)
I have just watched this on RU-vid and they actually have those Wheelock AS horn/strobe model of Fire alarms at both the Motel 6 in Centralia in one of the rooms and also at the Lowe's here in Monroe and holy crap, those things are LOUD!
Every Walmart I've been to in my Childhood Either Had These Or the Vertical Strobe version. Nowadays when I go to Most Walmarts I see PC2rs. A Couple Walmarts Ive been to Recently has the Big Wheelock Speaker strobes that are also used as the intercom system.
Mercedes-Benz CLA250 Sport not even a remote strobe? Ouch.. I feel you dude. We had a drill in the gym while changing.. since the girls were mega-fast and never wanted to be late, they would already be changed. So in the middle of changing, the clock hit 12:35 sharp, and the two truealert horn strobes set to continuous started blaring. The gym had 4. We had to move through the gym to get to the exit. Here I am, standing half naked outside, (all the guys were not done changing) While the girls just stare at the man candy outside. What a time to be alive.
My local middle school has them in every single classroom. One classroom has three in there. Even just one alone is loud enough to beat out an Advance, Wheelock Exceeder, and various mechanical horns.
I hate this... it brings back bad memories of my old school... the teachers would tell us there is a fire drill.. and the alarm would always come on like 2 mins late. It scared the living crap out of me. These alarms sound like crickets on steroids.
Same when I was in 5th grade I developed a terrible phobia of them a few days later it got worse when I reached 7th grade cause my 1st core class had this same alarm
William Kim yup, I have these same alarms at my school, and when it's time for lockdown or just a drill, these go off, and it scares the heck out of fellow students including me, it even scared the heck out of one of teachers one time(yup sometimes they don't tell the teachers if a drill is happening to see how well they take it seriously), every time I think it's the real thing, not a drill, and I'm relieved after when I find out it's a drill
