A test of my newly acquired Wheelock ES-DL1-WS-24DC electronic horn strobe from 1985. This was one of the first electronic horn strobe models to be made.
This ES was probably a first-gen that can only sound its horn tone. These more than likely would've been around prior to the EH release. After the EH was released in 1988 may be when the ES became a tri-tone. I guess it makes sense since I believe ES would mean Electronic Sounder and EH would mean Electronic Horn. Only major difference being the ES having a speaker and the EH using a piezo.
Wheelock does it again in the 80’s with an electronic horn! I wonder if this was the first to market? Certainly earlier than the System Sensor MA/SS, or the PA400. Maybe the GX90 too…
