The BRZ/GT86/FRS are perfect examples of sports cars. In recent years, the identity of sports cars have been lost. It’s a reliable platform and drivetrain that you can take to back roads anywhere and just have some fun running through ALL of the gears. It’s a throwback to the analog sportscars of the past, a small lightweight car with a smaller engine, rwd, and a 6-speed manual. In reality what would more power do? Raise the price, decrease the number of roads you can drive on while revving out sixth gear (while not having to worry about getting a ticket lmao).

I thought we said weight reduction didn't count towards the budget, because it doesn't cost anything IRL, just rip it out 💀

I feel if you kept the same trans on the brz but blended your last three years to try to merge it into a 5 speed you could squeeze the gears into more s2 grounds on the strip

As an owner of a BRZ, I realize 200 hp on paper sounds slow as fuck. But these cars are insanely lightweight and handle like a dream. Driving around the city In this car is the most fun I’ve ever had in any car. Once you add a few power mods like intake, headers, and get it tuned on E85 It’s plenty fast enough in my opinion. Also with the right exhaust setup it sounds amazing, it’s overall just an amazing car

Is the manual with clutch just video game logic to being faster? I'd assume pressing in the clutch is an extra step that'll take more time.

I feel like if you lowered the suspension a little you could probably go a little faster. Idk if that would break the budget though.
