I'm a bit late to the party but just discovered this sequential unit today - and it's the answer to a truly custom traffic advisor. My goal has been to fit a Tracer between the tailgate and bumper on my truck, but there isn't sufficient clearance for opening the tailgate. An alternative has been to use a UFM8 flasher, which has TA capabilities, with a set of standalone lamps. However, the UFM8 has limited TA patterns and a variety of other configuration limitations. So, rather than buy a $165 UFM8 flasher, I'm going to buy a $140 amber sequencing strip light and tap it to drive the flashing/TA functions I want. The plan is to install 6 of the non-sequencing strip lights and trigger each with the correlative LED group from the sacrificial sequencing lamp (which will now simply provide flasher functions). Going this route also enables a dual-color setup as one can then segment between the TA input from the sequencing lamp - which drives the steady burn of the non-sequencing lamps - and whatever steady or flash configuration is desired for the secondary color of the non-sequencing lamp. Personally, my secondary color is going to be steady red for a kickass supplemental brake light and rear fog light. Mark S. Jones
I know these have been out for a while, but can i run these in 2 seperate modes: 1) red/white flashing and 2) white steady on (this overrides #1). Can this be wired this way? Based on the manual, I dont see how thiss is possible.
