This is the Whelen Vortex positioned at the Softball Field in Lakeville Ohio sounding off its bi-weekly test. It was installed in 2007, likely replacing the Federal Signal Model 5 at the fire station down the street. Near the end of the video what is likely Nashville's Federal Signal 2001-130 can be faintly heard in the distance.
Holmes county tests their thirty outdoor warning sirens every other Saturday at 11:00 AM. The county has a mix of Whelen Vortexes, Federal Signal 2001’s of varying ages, as well as a few Federal Signal Model 5’s. The majority of the system is used solely for tornado warnings; however, the Villages of Glenmont and Killbuck have equipped their sirens with special tones for flood emergencies; though, it is a possibility that other units test in special signals.
