The bigger, taller guy lacked skills, speed, and agility. As you noted, he only has brute force and some decent kicking basics. Not sure why the fight was billed as a Muay Thai legend vs a kickboxing prodigy. The shorter guy's much better than the bigger, taller guy; but the skills exhibited were hardly legendary. Asians exaggerate way too much in their use of terms of "genius," "legend," "prodigy," etc.

@@Deoslatt When a proper spinning backfist lands it is going to hit right on the chin or on the button just from the way that they have to be thrown. And if one connects solid it is lights out for damn near anyone. That's what the move is for. It's high risk and high reward. When I was younger I fought in an amateur circuit for a couple of years and spinning backfists were just one of those things. Not generally worrisome because they're USUALLY easy to avoid and leave your opponent wide open, but you had to be constantly aware because if they sneak a good one in when you're not expecting it and it lands then you're going to be in trouble. It's up there with flying knees and superman punches.

I can see Sam A edging this one out. You have to do more than simply charge forward bulldozer style and throw punches. Sam A won the majority of those exchanges with preemptive clean strikes, teep disruptions, counter and slip outs. Won the kicking game easily too. Wang was more aggressive obv but without the results. For those pointing out Sam A not standing toe to toe, well yeah of course not. That's what his opp wants. Of course Sam A not gonna do that. It's fight IQ. You don't automatically win a kickboxing match because u press fwd more than the other guy, u still have to win the exchanges...Sam A won more of them.

I felt like Sam was more disciplined and sharper with his control of punches, kicks, and mentally. From round 2 I felt like he was going to win. He did. HOWEVER, This could've arguably have been called a draw. Though in my opinion, Wang stayed aggressive which I had thought he would tire himself out with all those wild misses and output of energy from Sam's ability to evade and defend. I WAS INCORRECT! Wang kept that pace til the end! It started to started to take a toll on Sam in the last 2 rounds. While Sam was much more controlled and technically, and emotionally sound than Wang, I gotta give it to Wang. That kids a Lion! If factoring in each fighters chosen discipline was also to be considered.... Then Sam deserves huge accolades for his outstanding performance! All things considered... Fun fight! Well done fighters!

@@jinruizhang I'd agree that Wang had good pace and cardio. His shortcoming isn't so much "lack of hands", his technique is fine, his shots were sharp and strong. His issue was his tempo. Sam-A was able to slip a ton of Wang's shots purely because the tempo and rhythm were predictable. Sam-A isn't a god level Muay Femur like Lerdsila, he's not a fighter who's out there trying to out-slick his opponents. This fighter was stronger than Sam A but technique, precision, fight IQ and experience is what Muay Thai is all about. Skill over strength. It doesn't work 100% of the time. But when elite Thais have had so many fights and still are sharp and still handsome (hardly ever cauliflower ears) that means they haven't taken much damage. That's when it's scary

This match reminds me of a cat vs dog fight. The smaller but faster Muay Thai fighter is the cat.

I gotta hand it to Wang. Hes got a good chin. Despite his best efforts he couldn't even knock himself out. That chin allows him to fight recklessly and for some reason, hit himself a lot too.

If Wang would stop and let Sam come forward, Sam would hit his shots. The only option was to keep pushing.

I don't understand, clearly Wang wins the game as the other guy was taking all the blows and running around all the time without fighting. Even by doing that, the guy bacame exhausted in the last round.

This was like watching a sledgehammer go up against a sniper rifle. The sledgehammer can't smash what it can't hit. Sam-A fought beautifully
