True, it's shitty that it's the same number of castings from flame of the red manes that are used in order to stagger most bosses

But it's very balanced lol. Parry was easy mode in previous From Software games (1 parry to stagger), now it's high reward option, but also high risk

If you played the Maliket the Black Blade part. You will notice that they made a very specific to make him Parry, and seeing it from a logical point of view is understandable. But that you read the Lore and see the feats that these bosses do and see that all those feats ruined by a small shield stopping an attack that will probably destroy not only the shield but the bearer and be stopped by something that does not cost more than 1,000 runes is totally disappointing and pitiful. If you're an excellent guy with a good memory you know how to accurately do the Parry. attacks even from gods. It doesn't make any sense that the game is simply ruined by it. If you look at all the bosses in Dark Souls 3 they were all jokes in bad taste. for the simple fact that it can be made Parry.

@@piggybank7537 Her phase 1 is about as hard as Genichiro overall, but Waterfowl Dance would be just as much of a beast in Sekiro as it is here, and the self-healing is also a big deal, since it would make it extremely hard to break her stance. And her phase two is on a whole other level, still, and easily comparable to something like Father Owl.

I think that’s because you literally have to play one way. That’s not a insult to the game or you, but sekiro is easily the most git gud From game imo. Do it right or don’t do it. You don’t try something else, you just get better. Obviously this is all my opinion on the game.

sekiro was hardest fromsoft game in my opinion but once u mastery the deflect mechanics is very rewarding,satisfying

This literally applies to every single boss in the Soulsborne franchise. Every boss is killable with a barehanded lvl 1, if you're obsessed enough to learn all their patterns to the dot.

It may be one of the most frustrating bosses in elden ring but that's why it's my favorite

I haven’t played sekiro but on my first elden ring play thru it took me 2or3 times to beat her and same on my 2nd.

She's only the hardest boss because she automatically regains health every time she hits you, even if you're blocking with your strongest shield. That, and the rot curse during her second phase.

@@NexusKin I would say she is only the hardest because she has the waterfowl dance. As soon as I started to learn how to avoid it I got much closer to killing her every time. What I would do is make the dance easier to dodge but give her more poise to compensate. Maybe even lower the amount of health she can steal.

Elden Ring's parry timing isn't anywhere near as generous as Sekiro's. Sekiro parry windows feel like For Honor parries, i.e. intentionally designed to be easy to perform, whereas Elden Ring brings back the tighter timing of the other games to make parrying more of a challenge.

Her moveset is basically Sekiro but the player's moveset is so goddamn different

Elden ring through out a lot of the good balance mechanics that have always been present in Fromsoft games. After a move like waterfowl dance or like that attack where she does 7 arena length dashes, in every other game the boss would give an opportunity for the player to get a few free hits after that. Not in Elden ring though

@@MaadeInHeaven Malenia was the easiest boss in the entire game, way easier than the sleeping dragon you kill with bleed weapons. How are you both so bad at the easiest boss? & Yes, I no hit run her with 0 summons. You could always try something called, Git gud.

Ds1 most bossses cant be parried aside from gwyn and parey DESTROYS him ds2 havent played and ds3 parry is busted so its not really normal souls games this is the only one u need to parry a boss 3 times to get a riposte

It’s been like 3 soul games, and bloodborne I’m not asking them to port the parry from Sekiro, but the reward for parry in Elden Ring is kinda dog sh*t Like literally everything else is better than parry. You have to pull 3 successfully parry just to do like ~10% of a boss’ hp. They should make like the crit multiplier for parry much higher than the crit multiplier for posture break instead of making them the same

At least this time it looks like you're parrying the weapon and not thin air like in DS1, or the after hit effects like in DS3. It's the most intuitive it has ever been.

It honestly feels like demon of hatred and malenia accidentally swapped games. Like trying to dodge waterfowl dance? absolute pain, need to be absolutely perfect. Deflecting it? Probably about as difficult as a genichiro flurry.

@@GabrielGonzalez2 I mean, they LITERALLY ported over the code from Sekiro into this game and copied Isshin's attack. It's almost exactly the same except that Malenia does it three times in a row while moving so it's even worse.

@@GabrielGonzalez2 waterfowl is bad when you first encounter it, but not when you pick up on her movement. She uses it as a clutch after she gets beat to the ground for a while. She turns passive for a little bit then rises up in the air. I noticed that and just stayed back until the first part was done and did my best to dodge through the rest

Sekiro won't improve your parries because the timing is ridiculously generous, and there's very little punishment for mistiming it unless your posture is nearly broken. If anything learning to parry in souls games would make Sekiro a joke.

Sekiro is based around parrying so the parry windows there are much more lenient than souls/ER. Still, you should really play Sekiro, it's a beast of a game and the bosses are awesome.

The real difficulty with parrying Malenia is that you always need to be very close to her to make parries work reliably, but that makes evading the Waterfowl Dance much more difficult because you're too close to run away. Also once you know her patterns well enough to position correctly for parrying you probably can beat her just with rolling because it needs less precision and works for all attacks. Parrying her is fun but I find it more difficult to actually beat her with it.

Barely though. The OG Demon Souls is by far the easiest to Parry. You can be so late that you'll take a full hit and still get the parry off lol.

There is a video that show how in DS3 you can parry after being hit and as far as the attack hits while in ER you gotta parry as the strike comes and as close as possible to the enemy.

@@shadanali2587 It's not a mod. I concur with the other commenters. It is a special parry shield though. Buckler parry is a stronger parry because it has longer parry frames. You get it with the bandit starting character, or later from Gostoc. And it can be used against Malenia.

With No Bell charm + Demon Bell, you'd have to do a perfect parry basically every time or that shit would shred your HP.

Waterfowl dance would be amazing if you could interrupt it with a perfectly timed parry of the first swing. Parry all three flurrys and you get a guaranteed riposte. That change alone would fix parrying in that bossfight, right now the combo punishes parrying and that sucks.

bloodborne is probably the easiest one. why do people have trouble with bloodborne? your char is op from the start and as long as you level accordingly you just stay that way throughout the whole game.

Understandable if he meant Bed of Chaos and maybe Capra Demon without cheese, but otherwise DS1 bosses are super easy compared to DS3, Elden Ring or Sekiro imho.

Bloodborne and DS2 are easier than elden ring imo. DS2 bosses are all pushovers and BB gives you insane s and parry windows that let you finish most boss fights in less than a minute. Elden ring sorcery mode is arguably the easiest game released but if you run a full physical damage build I would say Elden Ring is the hardest in that regard.

Bloodborne isn't difficult at all. You are smoking that good shit. BB is ez mode. You legit are the hunter and as long as you keep that mindset BB is just some crazy guy going around sawing poor innocents because he had waking nightmares.

Darksouls 2 is a lot harder than other games mainly because it is horribly programed, invincible and invisible fps, bugged animations, etc. Bloodborne is still considered as the hardest from software game mainly because how much the game punish you when you try to play it differently, no time to stop and think about a strategy to defeat the enemy like in elden ring or darksouls, no shield nor stances to get a better chance against the enemy, always having to farm blood, etc. The fps along with the windows you mention is barely present in some bosses like lady Maria, Gehrman and some hunters but in bloodborne you need to dominate this feature first which is not easy at difference of the block and deflection of your shield and sword in darksouls and sekiro, it is effective for the normal enemies in the majority but not the whole game, you can't parrie Laurence, Ludwig, kos, blood starved beast, beast of Loran, undead giant like you do with small enemies of your size. Unlike the rest of the from software games elden ring is a lot easier mainly because you have many ways to defeat your enemies unlike the other games where you only had 3 at best, specially in bloodborne but elden ring is definitely harder than the other games at least in the beginning when it comes down to late game. Here from software realizes that now you have lots of way to beat the game and become pretty op in little time, they decided to increase the power of the late game as if you were playing a new game plus 4 or 5, where everyone can one shot you if you are careful in your first playthrough, something really silly if you ask me but this does not become an issue once you start a new game plus.

I killed every single bloodborne boss (including dlc) in under 3 tries, in comparison to Elden Ring I think I died to Malenia more times alone then i did across the whole of my bloodborne playthough. I never said it was objective like you are, its just my personal opinion that Elden Ring is harder than Bloodborne.
